Came here the other day in a rush to get a new pair of glasses after losing mine. The woman helping me could not have been nicer. She was super indulgent as I tried on maybe as many as 7 or 8 pairs of glasses and helped me stay within my budget of $ 275 for lenses and frames. They were able to get my prescription faxed from my hometown branch in Georgia, make the lenses, and fit them in the frames in just two hours from the time that I walked in the door. They also had some great deals when I was there.

Went there for prescription glasses but the staff was so helpful and the selection so large that I went for prescription sunglasses as well. Competitive prices too. I’ve read some other reviews here that seem to have problems with the doctor’s office within the store. That is not the same business, although I liked them as well. The manager of the Pearl Vision itself, Eddie, is one of the nicest people in the world and seemed ready do all he could to make sure my visit was a happy and successful one.

Had a quick eye exam and fitting for glasses here. Service was good and the salesperson I worked with was a lot of fun. Found a great pair of glasses, but man they were EXPENSIVE! They put them together within an hour and the lower rating really was for the second half of the visit(fitting with real glasses). Was not greeted when I walked in and had to wait a long time before the person who was working(yes, she saw me) finally gave me the time of day. Considering the price paid for the glasses, I’d like some happy/good service or at least a friendly hello-be-with-you-in-a-second style greeting. Good selection of frames and lenses.

We made an appointment after discussing insurance. Once the the doctor on duty doesn’t take that insurance. They told us the glasses would be ready on 2÷19÷14. They of course were not ready on time. They kept saying they would call, I called 2 days later and they said they need the frames to put the lenses in an it would take a maximum of an hour. We’ll since it has been 2 hours. I think they are just really good liars. I have told many people. I will tell as many as I can. I know it will not happen again. I will not be going back. Unfortunately it made a bad name for all of the chain.

Scheduled an appointment for a contact exam spoke with the gentleman on the phone was less to believe no problem. I get there for my appointment and get told the Dr on duty spent take insurance. What a load of u know what. If u didn’t want to use my companies insurance u should have told me on the phone instead of wasting my gas and time. Went directly across the street to opticare much better results. Much better place to go. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Interested in a set of frames that I found online, I called in to check whether they had a pair in stock or could order them. After finding out they were not in-network on my insurance, I decided to look elsewhere. I was impressed by the staff, though, who seemed uncommonly kind and understanding. Would definitely go here if they were in network.

I came here a while back and my wife came shortly after. The doctor we saw was a little creepy and gave us both wrong diagnosis. I’ve been seeing eye doctors for 26 years and this guy was the worst. He tried to give me the same glasses prescription as my contact lenses prescription which is an obvious error. Contact lenses sit right on your eye while glasses sit away from your face resulting in different prescription strengths. Needless to say I couldn’t see with my glasses and they wanted me to just get used to them and wear them for a few days straight. Finally, after arguing, they gave me a different prescription. My wife actually got a corrected prescription by seeing a doctor over at Opticare.

I’ve been coming here since 2007 and I’ve had excellent experience every time. The staff is very friendly and professional. Doctor is very humble and explains everything clearly. I like this place. Highly recommended.

I’m a Yale graduate student and was excited to take advantage of the Eyemed Vision plan that was offered to us this past year. I spent five years in the same frames and prescription so I needed a change. I had my eye exam done for free at the Yale Health Plan(not covered under the plan). Based on the positive reviews and bountiful selection of frames online, I decided to go to Pearle Vision in Hamden. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted and asked how I can be helped by Dianne. I told her I was looking for new frames, so we agreed that I’d try out glasses on my own then she’d check up on me in a bit. After trying on several frames, I started to feel overwhelmed. Dianne came back and asked me what style of frames I was looking for. I said I wanted something comfortable yet stylish and that I was interested in the half-framed glasses w/in a reasonable price range. She started pulling glasses of that style for me to try. I tried on the pairs that she suggested and kept the few that we both thought looked nice, but I wasn’t totally in love with any of them. She found a few more pairs of that style and then BAM! I ended up finding a pair that suits me :) The half frames are black and classy and the sides have a pink swirly design with a ‘C’ for Christine(really for Candies, but it works!) Perfect! The service was terrific. Dianne was both patient and friendly, and I believe she gave me her honest opinion. She broke down the price of the frames and the lenses. Since they accept Eyemed, the total cost was less then $ 200! New frames and lenses can cost $ 500 or more. They let you pay half up front, then the rest when you pick-up your glasses. The whole process took less than an hour. When I was done paying, I had an additional question about lenses. The manager, Eddie, was also very friendly and was happy to answer any questions that I had. I highly recommend Pearle Vision for great customer service and a wide selection of frames!
