We got 16oz prime rib and BBQ pork chops with all the fixings. Vegetable choices were steamed carrots or Brussels sprouts(not really great) but food was fantastic, portions were large, price was right, service was great. Love love love. Will go way out of my way to come back.

The french toast is very good! My husband loves the Chocolate Chip pancakes! There is a great selection for breakfast. The best part is that they deliver! I’ve always wondered if there was breakfast delivery and I came across this Wonderful Diner. Now I need to go and dine in someday!

Just had the double bacon cheeseburger deluxe perfect ratio of meat to bread. Cooked perfectly. Juicy and intense beef flavor. The bun held up nicely throughout the entire experience. I would highly recommend this product.

Normally pretty good, get delivery from them regularly. Ordered a Turkey dinner(mashed potatoes, veggies, and stuffing) with gravy on the side. They forgot my veggies, slathered the dish in gravy AND put gravy on the side, and substituted the stuffing for four pieces of soggy white bread. They offered to fix the order, but I was not interested. This is the second time they’ve made a similar mistake, and I will not be ordering from them again.

Huge menu for a diner. Omelet was awesome with toast and french fries. Can upgrade to curly fries for an additional charge. Extremely fast and very inexpensive. Friendly waiter who never left our glasses empty. The menu was so big it was difficult choosing a selection. Tuna sandwich was ordered by accident, but was good, dark tuna meat, though. Would definitely go back if in the mood for good, cheap, and fast food, not mcd’s fast though. Old, outdated atmosphere and building, but clean with good food.

Classic diner– basic menu, some of the items we ordered were good(gyros, waffle), some not good at all(cream of broccoli soup, cake).

I don’t know if it was because it was a Saturday night, Easter, or what but the service was awful. As a server/bartender, I expect a lot from other servers no matter what because I know how I am as a server. I tip very well to great service and I tip bad to poor service and tonight was beyond poor. The manager on duty didn’t even acknowledge me when I walked in the door. No server came over to me until 15 minutes later. The server that ended up taking my order never refilled my coffee and had me sitting for 20 minutes after I was done to give me my check. And the worst part of it is that it was completely dead in the diner.

Three Brothers is really fantastic, and the one time we had difficulty with our delivery they re-delivered quickly and without any difficulty. The chicken kabob is awesome. Though one reviewer doesn’t like their mozz. sticks, we do!

Solid place. Classic in every sense minus the old school jukebox. Staff is friendly. Service is prompt. Your coffee cup won’t stay empty for long no matter what time of day it is. A neighborhood fixture. Expanded the menu some over the last year as well to give more options.

Best diner in Hamden!!! Way better than Acropolis or IHOP. The food is always fresh, delicious, and well-prepared(even in the middle of the night). It always comes out fast and the wait staff is very good. They always notice if your coffee is running low and will just bring the pot over(and always remember more creamer) without asking! Yes! The wait staff isn’t ALWAYS friendly, but they mostly are, and I’ve never seen them be rude. They have a huge menu and everything on it I’ve had is good. They also automatically total up your order in the cheapest way possible, so you can just blindly order your breakfast however you want it without worrying about being charged too much for the extras. It’s also quite clean, except that the un-carpeted section doesn’t always feel the cleanest… a little gritty. So if you’re in sandals and it’s been raining, just ask for the carpeted section. I’ve also never had to wait for a table even when the other places are packed. This place is truly a hidden gem. You can even call-in takeout orders and I think they do delivery too.

It’s a diner. First one around the area that I’ve seen that’s run by Turks instead of Greeks. And as that saying goes, seen better, [had] worse.

Gross. I was led astray by the previous reviewers. Granted, diners and diner food ain’t fancy, but the food here was slop. Had the ham and eggs and got a slice as thin as you’d get with a meat slicer at a deli. Eggs were overdone, too. Do yourself a favor and pass this place by.

Had a delightful post-club/bar experience here. Server was incredibly attentive and patient(smiling the entire time), and the food was good. Very diner-ish. Yum!

Every morning my two roommates and I would wake up in dread and anticipation of yet another twelve-hour work day selling educational books door-to-door in Connecticut. None of us had any business being there: one of my roommates and I were students at Berkeley, and the third was from the University of Central Florida. We all embarked on this journey for what we felt would be the defining moment of our young lives. After all, what better way to have a memorable summer than turn down other jobs, fight with family and friends, and drive over three thousand miles to get to a place where life had existed in its set fashion before us, and exists undisturbed in the least after us. We would pile into David’s Toyota Camry and drive down Whitney Avenue, make a left onto Putnam and then another left onto Dixwell. We would pull into the parking lot of the diner and see the same pick-up in the same spot, the Cadillac in the handicapped space – the usuals. My roommates and I had our rituals during breakfast. For instance, emulating the old-timers in the diner we would insist on sitting in the same booth every day. We would harmonize to the Alphabet song, and idiotically blurt out the opening to «2001: Space Odyssey» while waiting for our food. And the food was reassuringly predictable. I always had one egg sunny-side up, hash browns, and wheat toast. My roommate Rupert always had one egg over easy, hash browns, and wheat toast. David had the short stack drenched in syrup and mashed into little bits, and an egg sandwich. Monday to Saturday, for ten weeks straight. Once we went there in the evening for dinner, expecting more of the same gray weariness that pervaded the space in the mornings. But to our surprise, the restaurant was crowded with families, teenagers, and unfamiliar servers. We had our plain hamburgers(not deluxe – which would have given us lettuce, tomato, and pickles), drank our cokes, and hurriedly made our exits.
