They are expensive, but also undeniably convenient. They have fresh everything, homemade quite a few and great selection. There is nothing better than having a good marketplace right down the road! Cookout, no problem. Need beer, wine ??? Done. They got it all! Keep up the good work and great soups too!!!

I shop here often for my quick shopping needs. Once in a blue moon I’ll shop for the entire grocery order, but that’s only when I know my check book can handle it and I can’t make the drive to Market Basket. The salad bar is outstanding! I personally am not a fan of buying soups, but everyone who’s ever mentioned to me about their soups is jet raving about the awesomeness of them! Their deli is top-notch as far as «brand name» meats and cheeses go, but you definitely pay that higher price as well. The meat section always is a pleasant surprise for me when I see all of their marinated chicken, beef, pork and turkey. The beer and wine aisle is nearly the whole isle length on both sides, with the exception of a small dairy area in the beginning of the aisle, so they have a really good selection for a small grocery store. If you’re a Ben & Jerry’s fan, like I am, this is your place! They have a good selection of various kinds and often bring in new flavors to try. I am not of a fan of the management here, but the staff are always friendly, smiling, complimenting my children(even when they’re not behaving to the best of their abilities), and generally I see the same faces every time. So, although personally I do not care for the management, clearly they’re doing something right in that they keep their employees on staff for long-term.

I can’t comment on the marketplace generally but I’ve lately been a fan of their salad bar. At $ 6 a pound, that’s a reasonable price and you’d have to add a lot of cucumbers or meat for the weight to go up.

This is a great grocery store, conveniently located with ample parking. The produce is fresh and they have improved on the amount of organics they offer! I have shopped here for years and would recommend this store to anyone looking for quality produce.

I have very mixed feelings about Crosby’s. It’s a local little spot so I end up running in a fair amount for things I forgot to get on big trips or for quick lunches for me. It’s a bit of a gouge money-wise, but it’s definitely convenient. Pros: — Some things at Crosby’s are a great deal. Particularly spices. Crosby’s-brand spices come in huge packages and cost a VERY reasonable amount. So go for spices. — Prepared foods are good, sandwiches, soups, and pot pies alike. — Good international cheese selection for a grocery store that isn’t Trader Joe’s. — Beer and wine inside, and they have some really good deals for a grocery store. — Plenty of parking if you’re driving over, easy to walk to if you’re hoofing it. — A lot of organic options, if that’s important to you. — They carry some locally-baked goods, which is nice to see. Also, their in-house-made muffins are delicious. Cons: — Not the nicest one I’ve been to, but it’s not trashy. Some really offer such a pleasant experience that I want to buy all their food and give every person in their a big hug. This one is more just serviceable than really pleasant. But the place isn’t bad. — Holy cow, food is expensive here. I could not afford to do a lot of shopping in one. Just quick things here and there. — The produce never really blows me away. I keep expecting the fruits and veggies to be better quality or more local or more organic or something. But it’s not special. Maybe I just have unrealistic expectations. For a Crosby’s, it’s lower-end and it doesn’t really have anything to recommend itself other than convenience and some very specific things(spices, cheese, prepared foods). If I had another option within walking distance of my work, I’d probably go there. But Crosby’s isn’t a bad place if you can handle the price and you don’t expect a gourmet experience. Basically, it does and not much more.

This is an A-Ok little market that has saved me several times. Such as when I was supposed to bring turkey sandwiches for my sons class, and I forgot. Ran in here, they made me 6 turkey sandwiches cut in little kid sized pieces quickly-like. They have some organic produce, not much. Sometimes they have pretty little cupcakes in the bakery. Decent place to pick up salami and cheese and crackers for when you need to go to a party and not be a mooch. . they sell beer and wine, which is also helpful. They used to carry my favorite Guittard Nocturne 97% cacao chocolate. When I stopped working in the area, they seemed to stop carrying it. Maybe I was the only one buying it :) Glad it’s here. It fills a need.

I hate to say it, but this is the worst Crosby’s Market that I’ve been to. I love the one in Marblehead, and find the other locations to be far superior in terms of selection, service, and cleanliness. It’s disappointing to go into Crosby’s and have displays that are knocked over and a bunch of teenagers wandering around. Today, I saw some with skateboards running through the store! I really wanted to give this location a chance, but I’ve been in there several times and it’s never good. I don’t know why the prices are higher than the other locations; I mean really, is Hamilton that much swankier than Marblehead? I certainly don’t think so. Today, we saw a display with free samples of ‘something’ that looked appealing. We edged toward it and the woman continued talking to an employee who completely blocked the table and didn’t allow us or others lingering around the area to even get a taste! We came back a few minutes later, and yet another employee was gabbing with the display lady! Finally, the display lady hugged the employee and paid no attention as we took a sample and tried to ask what it was. What poor service. It tasted good too, and had she been doing her job we may have purchased it, but after that treatment we figured the store didn’t need our business. Whoever runs this location really needs to make sure the displays are together, the employees are paying attention, and teens aren’t roaming the aisles. Big turn-offs! I doubt I’ll waste my time going back.

Located right in downtown Hamilton in the CVS plaza you will found Crosby’s. This is a traditional small New England market. You will find all the basics of a supermarket(deli, produce, seafood, bakery, cheese, meat, grocery and frozen foods) but with more of a homestyle flair. Crosby’s has a great bakery and pastry department. I am a big fan of their baguettes. Very close to the real think, unlike those large spongy«so-called» baguettes that you would get at Stop and Shop or Shaws. Crosby’s has a great selection of all natural and organic meats and produce, which is outstanding. I grilled up some certified organic all natural burgers that I purchased there this past weekend. Mmmm-moo licious! Don’t forget to check out their wide variety of selections in the beer and wine section. I have to admit I was quite impressed to see such a wide array of choices. Open 7am-9pm daily
