Hope Diner

A great find on our way home from the Adirondacks easy to miss however well worth it appears to be operated by three ladies great food friendly service reasonable prices I would definitely stop there again

My boyfriend’s father and grandfather are locals to Wells so they are frequent visitors to Hope Diner. I was so impressed with the food here that I had to do a review. The breakfast food is LEGIT. It’s delicious, large portions, no skimping on anything good food! You will find thick cut bacon, properly cooked eggs, and generous portions of everything. Just had to give a shout out because we were so delighted. It’s also very cozy inside and staff very friendly.

This place is great! VERY local… it’s great… like in the movies… they stare at you. It’s such a cool little place. The food is terrific and it is very homey. I loved it. The owner and staff are wonderful. Perfect little local spot.

Some friends and I found this place while vacationing in the Adirondack mountains. While hungry, and looking for local places to eat, we came across this unassuming little brown building (there is only a small sign on the front labeling it «Hope Diner»). Stepping into the Hope Diner feels, if anything, like stepping into your grandma’s kitchen for a good, home-​cooked meal.
Side note: this place is easy to miss! Coming south from Wells on route 30, it will be about 3 miles down the road on your right.
You’ll find all your standard diner fare on the menu here, some made with packaged ingredients, but even those dishes are very well cooked. Much to our stomachs’ delight! Others, like their soup of the day or beer battered Haddock, are cooked from scratch to perfection.
Food is pleasantly salty without being overly so. Not overly greasy either. Coffee, every diner’s staple, is excellent! If you’re in the mood for desert, try a slice of pie (also homemade and in a variety of tasty flavors).
Great prices, FRIENDLY service! Highly recommended if you’re anywhere in the Hope/​Wells/​Speculator area.
