I’m not sure why I keep giving this place a 2nd, 3rd and now a 4th chance to impress me. I guess I want to have a good experience here because it is convenient to all the stores just outside it’s doors. Unfortunately, I won’t be attempting a 5th visit. It has never been clean or professionally run. The entire staff appears to be 21 and under and the service reflects this. I have never seen a manager or anyone that looks older. They are certainly friendly enough, but are not serious about customer service. The food looks fantastic on the menu, but never lives up to expectations, The burgers can be ok and I do like the Sante Fe Chicken Salad, which is difficult to mess up. I got adventurous tonight and tried the Fish Tacos. 3 soft tortillas filled with cold shredded cheese some lettuce and spicy cream sauce– the fish was near non existent. I ended up scooping the mixture out to slather on my tortilla chips, much like a sad excuse for an appetizer. My daughter’s obviously microwaved pizza off the kids menu was raw in the middle. Needless to say, we left hungry. But that really isn’t the worst of it. The restaurant has gotten more filthy every time I’ve been there. Word of advice… don’t go to or be seated near the restrooms. You will lose your appetite.

Service was good. The waiter didn’t seem annoyed with us and our lack of decision making skills, but he was kind of awkward. Our food was served in good time and tasted alright, but nothing great. The menu has a great selection for any taste/dietary preference. The nachos were a HUGE portion and made a great meal instead of appetizer, but would also be a great app. My Cobb Salad was mediocre, though, which was slightly disappointing.

Wouldn’t give any stars if possible. We went in at lunchtime on Saturday. Service was good and we placed our orders, but when we opened our silverware, the cutlery was crusted with food and the napkins were dirty! This was BOTH sets of cutlery, not just 1 set. My friend and I were not going to eat someplace that was obviously filthy, so we told the hostess we were leaving and that she should cancel our order. She said she would get the manager, but then ignored us and seated customers, even though there was another host had now come to the front. We left at this point. Hope the health department inspects them soon!

Called well ahead to let them now we were coming with a large group(12+) and was told I needed to call the day of because if she wrote a note it would be lost. Called again the day of as I was told. We were seated at three different tables and had one waitress. Orders were incorrect and missing side items. Soup/salad and main course were brought all at the same time. Our waitress needed help! As we began to leave the host complained audibly that we were blocking the path to the bar area.

Our server Katie was really friendly and good with recommendations. Food was delicious, I am never disappointed in the burgers here. And of course finished the meal with fresh cookies to go :)

Literally JUST went in and stood at the hostess stand for 5 minutes while all the staff walked past and ignored me. I decided to sit at the bar instead. A couple entered behind me and stood there for another 5 minutes, and all the while no one waited on either of us. I left, pretty irked. I will not return!

Our food was great, came out in a reasonable amount of time and was nice and hot. The real star of the night though, was our server Sean. He brought out my toddlers meal as soon as it was ready to help keep him happy and was patient and kind to my extremely picky grandmother. He was just a friendly server in general and not what you usually get at a casual chain restaurant. So kudos to Sean for making what could have been a stressful dinner with my grandmother and toddler much more enjoyable for my husband and I.

The food was good. The main reasons for docking of stars are that our waitress smelled like smoke(horribly), the cheese on the kids grilled cheese wasn’t melted(although he didn’t care), the service was a little slow, and because they switched from the eye candy on World Cup to Nascar on the tv ;)

Pretty bad experience here last night. First off no straws or lemon for ice tea. 2 times of asking. Filthy appetizer plate. Then when the food came wife had philly cheese sandwich, weak on meat, fries overcooked. My Ruben sandwich was a joke. Meat about the size of a golf ball, soggy bottom bread from very wet sour kraut and way undercooked and totally unseasoned fries. Server never asked how food was, just brought boxes(for 2⁄3 un-eaten food) and the bill. Sat near kitchen and was very loud and some pretty inappropriate discussions easily heard. The staff must have been running all over the young manager. The entire time he stood at the hostess desk with his hands in his pockets and loudly chewing gum. I knew it wasn’t worth my time talking to him…

The only reason my rating for this restaurant is not 1 is because at least they were able to properly cook my burger. As for the rest of the experience there? I’ve had better service at a Burger King. We visited there on a Friday night toward the latter part of a typical restaurant dinner service. Our experience started with a hostess who didn’t so much look at us leading us toward our table and sitting us down. Instead of putting utensils and menus at different seats, she simply put the menus and utensils down together in a pile and walked away before we sat down. No smiles, no greetings, didn’t even look at us. Our waiter was friendly enough and brought us our water quickly. He was also quick to upsell menu items to increase our total amount. But from there, it goes downhill. First, the time elapsed in between our appetizer and entrees were inexcusable, given that we didn’t even come in to the restaurant during their peak hours. Second, when our food came, the fries weren’t seasoned. Third, when I asked our waiter how come the fries weren’t seasoned, he told me that’s what I ordered – which is most certainly not true. Fourth, he tried to convince me that apparently, their so-called«famous seasoned fries» involved only salt and pepper. Of course, his stammering clearly indicates that he wasn’t being truthful. Really? Fifth, I had ordered a «max size» burger. Being my first time to a Max and Erma’s, let me just say that if their«max size» involved a patty that is about 1 inch smaller diameter than the bun and thinner than the bottom bun, then their regular size burger should qualify as being nothing bigger than a slider. Sixth, in the middle of eating our entrée, our waiter asked us if we’re ready to pay. Lastly, our night ended with our waiter completely forgetting about the dessert I previously ordered but made sure to ask if we have room for it. All in all, I cannot remember the last time we received such poor service at any restaurant. Maybe this is an isolated incident. But I certainly wouldn’t be back to find out. There are many bars and grills around. While Max and Erma’s burger is cooked properly, the service is simply shameful. We’ll take our business elsewhere.

We’ve been to this location twice now. A couple of weeks ago we were here and we waited and waited for our food to come. The waitress noticed we didn’t have out good after other groups arrived after us and they had ready eaten and were leaving. Turns out they didn’t put our order in. We thought ok, the food was good when it finally did arrive so no big deal. We went back again today. This time we sat for 10 minutes and nobody even came to get our drink order. We heard the people behind us complaining about the wait. We got up and left. Won’t be back a 3rd time. Bad service!

I’ve been to the M&E in Rookwood and Kenwood many times and never experienced service this bad. We were there on a Sat night at 9pm — there were only about 10 tables and it was soooooooo slow! The service was terrible. The food was fine — as M&E goes — but ugh — I’ll never go back to that location! And side note — always get the cookies — we didn’t and I wish we had… they’re fresh baked…
