Good food, great view, high prices. The service was very good so I can justify the cost.

Had dinner tonight with reservations that I was 10 minutes late for. Hostess said problem but have a drink at the bar and that would give the kitchen time to catch up. Had 4 people served at the bar with the bartender having major problems with lack of supplies, etc. I felt as if he was drunk trying to serve us. We sat outside st our table and couldn’t get drinks, our order of food took excessive amounts of time to get, and we finally got served by multiple people in the dark. These people don’t know what they are doing. I could go on about the orders but it is way too much.

Great location and atmosphere. Service was attentive and live music on the weekend was nice. Food was good, not excellent but great presentation. Drinks were tasty and local beers on tap were a fun break after a day of wine tasting. Will be back.

We stopped for quick brunch. The service was fine, but the brunch menu needs a tuneup. The chef must be striving for a different flair. The selection was extremely limited and what we tried was slightly off key. Love the place and having been going there for forty years. Try a new menu with more selections and less going for the Madison Ave flair. Prices were very reasonable. peede

My boyfriend and I were Hammondsport for a night this past weekend and chose to eat here for dinner. We never experienced the old Snug Harbor, but the new Snug Harbor is a huge step up based on previous reviews. We ordered the pork belly and duck as our entrees and both were fantastic. In fact dinner was so tasty we came back Sunday morning for brunch, which was even better! We ordered the chicken and waffles and the shrimp and grits and since the weather was better we were able to sit out on their incredible deck. The wait staff was very friendly as were the new owners. They only recently took over so I think there are still a few kinks to work out, but the hospitality, tasty food and incredible views make Snug Harbor a must for anyone visiting the area. We are looking forward to coming back!

Absolutely awful. Waited over an HOUR for our food. No drink refills. No bread. No service. Waiter brought our food, told person in our party that they were out of what she ordered. Was not even busy… Food was cold and below average. Will NOT be going back

Awesome spot, under new direction. Awesome new menu. I had steak and my wife had duck. Obvious opportunities for growth into a new flow– but it’s clear to see this coming together into the busy season. This place will blow up after Memorial Day. Looking forward to coming back.

Went to Snug on August 5th. We had a great time at the bar, great bartender ~ great drinks and conversation with him. Wish we didn’t have to leave but, we had to. I am not someone who writes reviews EVER !!! But…we invited some friends there today Saturday. BAD service! Our female waitress came over & we ordered 2 Tangueray & Tonic… waitress came back and said we don’t have Sangria. We said no… Tangueray & Tonic. Before she came back our 2 friends arrived & a male waiter came to our table. He asked what do you want? They ordered a Tangueray & club soda and a Canadian Club & water. The female waitress came back with 4 Tangueray & club soda… they did not taste like they had gin in them! 2 of us picked up our drinks & went to the bar. Snug does not have CC. The Bartender started to fix our drinks… she said sorry it must have been a miscommunication! She poured 4 shots of gin(not to the top mind you). She pushed tonic for 2 and asked tonic or club soda? We said club soda & seven up for the other. We decided NOT to eat there with the luck we were having!!! We asked for our bill. They should have competed at least 1 drink. She brought the bill with no pen! Hope the other Bartender works on week-ends or we won’t be there!

We had an awesome dinner on the veranda at Snug, the ribs were great, an excellent fish special and great service from Elliott!

Nice lazy summer afternoon. Wanted something to eat before the wineries. We saw that Snug Harbor had recently reopened. Place is clean and freshly painted. Got a great table outside. Ordered fish sandwich. Swai, a whitefish like haddock. Arrived cooked perfectly, hot and crispy. Homemade tartar sauce had capers and a little heat. A nice touch. Homemade slaw, hot fries with right amount of salt. I’ll be back!

It probably depends on if you go in season or out of season. We have been twice, the 1st week in October and the last weekend in September and the services was absolutely horrible. The previous visit we had lunch around 2 –2:30 and there was no one in the place. The food was good but we waited for an hour for our food. This past time, the place was busy but wasn’t that full and we waited about 20 minutes for a table. The waitress took our drink orders and appetizer orders and once she brought us our appetizers proceeded to take the menus away until we asked if we could order dinner. When we ordered dinner, we asked for mustard, we asked three times and finally received it after our dinner was done. Our dinners were lukewarm and nothing had any taste at best when they arrived at the table. Our friend had a steak and he said it was eh. How do you kill a steak. The dinner took over 2 hours. Meanwhile, the hostesses who appear to be the owners were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, busing tables and looking for lost customers. Whoever assigned the tables to the waitresses obviously didn’t think about efficiency. Our waitress was assigned tables on one side of the inside of the building and on the other side of the building on the outside. The other waitress had tables on the same side on the inside of the building so they were constantly running into each other. They need to call Gordon Ramsey.

I recommend the grilled chicken sandwich with the caramelized onions, bacon and cheese. It was delicious. We also enjoyed their fries and onion rings. My son got grilled cheese and didn’t have any complaints. My husband’s burger however was very dry. The real downside for this restaurant however is the amount of time it takes for them to seat and serve customers. For the server vs. customer ratio(which was totally manageable) the service leaves much to be desired.

Just finished having lunch with my mom and fiancé. Extremely slow service for 2 burgers and some fries when there were less than 10 tables filled. It took an hour and 20 minutes during lunch hour for our meal, with a long wait between everything-ordering drinks, food, and getting the bill. The burgers were oversold and overcooked, even after we specified that we’d like them slightly pink in the middle. The ‘Brush Your Teeth’ did have some nice Gorgonzola and a rich flavor, but I honestly couldn’t taste anything else or remember what was on it. My fiancé had the ‘Triple B’ and was surprised at how salty and overwhelming the bacon was-and he LOVES bacon! The burgers were both charred, which some people like-my mother loves that. The burgers include ‘crudités’(a carrot strip, a celery stick, and a cherry tomato with a spoonful of tasty dip) and a small handful of tri-color tortilla chips. Fries are extra, but they were perfect. In short: okay lunch food, extremely slow service, friendly waitstaff.

Snug Harbor has been open on Lake Keuka’s west side, just outside of Hammondsport, for many years. It seems to be a popular place with locals and tourists. Last night was a cool evening so we ate inside, the four of us. No waiting for any of our service. In fact, had to constantly tell our waitress not to rush as we like to take our time. Lots of diners and a big surprise party upstairs, plenty of parking to accommodate cars(and boats). Everyone in our group seemed happy with their meals and drinks. I had the special drink of the night that included Thin Mint Cookies, Peppermint Schnapps, and a few other ingredients that made for a tasty drink. Two martinis at the table and a beer. I ordered the house salad, which was just the right size and only $ 4 – field greens, mandarin oranges, walnuts, other? Satisfying and tasty. My entrée was chicken breast with prosciutto and cheese(gorgonzola, I think). The sauce on the chicken was a bit salty, but I mixed some of it in with the orzo. Lots of veggies, cooked just right, not mushy. Broccoli, carrots, sprouts.(see my photo) The meal was filling so we chose not to have dessert but they all sounded good… chocolate and such! Our waitress hovered a lot! Until it got a bit busier. We never lacked for water; a nice quiet young lady constantly, yet unobtrusively, refilled our glasses. They certainly had a lot of waitresses, too many in the beginning, but I’m sure later as it got busier, they all came in handy. It was just a bit disconcerting to have them all standing around. Live music, with a tendency toward country sound – not my favorite. But, the musician was set up outside so it wasn’t loud or annoying. He also played a harmonica with a Neil Young kind of sound which I enjoyed. Several families with babies, small children and not-so-small children. Surprisingly, except for one minor crying session, all were peaceful. Thankfully, Dad tended to his crying child immediately. A beautiful building, more so on the outside than in. Old and could use a major(and probably costly) overhaul. Who you are with makes a difference when dining out and my friends made everything about the evening seem just right.

I’ll give it 2 stars but only because of the ambiance and view. The service is seriously lacking. We waited over an hour for our food and when it finally came, the prime rib that we ordered medium rare didn’t have a hint of pink to it. Unimpressed, especially for the price.

Limited and high priced menu. Visited on Wednesday evening as party of six and service was very slooooow. Got two appetizers at $ 13 each and each came with scant food. Very overpriced. I don’t recommend and won’t go back.

Nice building, staff was fine, great view. A little tight on the parking but you can arrive by boat if needed. Take a look at the menu before choosing Snug Harbor. Nothing on the menu really appealed to me, but maybe the food is just too good for my low standards.
