This is a really fun place on a very nice beach. They have a good selection of craft beers and mixed drinks. The food is pretty good, but served simply, which is OK for the setting. Too bad they aren´t open all year ´round.

Worst customer service ever. They have decent food so the B**** «manager» knows she can be rude and terse w everyone there. It’s not the first time I’ve seen it. I brought my family up from La. and this was supposed to be the best part of the trip as they were looking forward to mussels. We ordered over $ 120.00 worth of food & drinks just to start but because I was driving I ordered a water. After her and another loser(fat white guy) were done looking at a video on his phone while we wait for her, she comes back w a bathroom sized water cup! I asked could we have it in a bigger cup and she says as terse as could be «no this is the size but we can pay for water in the other line.» I walked away and went outside. Some of my group came to see what happened and she(the B**** «manager»)decided to show her ugly face outside and smirk at me. I said to my fam, «that’s the POS right there» she got the bouncer(very understanding and patient guy) to kick us out. They forever to simply refund us or box up our food and when my BF’s mother asked to speak to someone, she got the runaround. As I was waiting outside even a few employees said they know she’s a see ya next Tuesday. We used to go all the time and listen to the tunes but we will never go again. All over water! Running tap water!

Unless you’re willing to pay the $ 20 fee for beach access and parking, then this spot isn’t accessible or by car. Once there, lunch was disappointing. The crab cakes were a gooey mess with no crab. The lobster roll, while one of the more affordable in town, was loaded with onions but no seasoning. Guilty pleasure was the order of fries, frozen but still good. Burrata with arugula and red peppers was the highlight from the specials board. Iced tea and lemonade were fountain style and syrupy sweet. The view is a small, overcrowded beach. Not a lunch destination unless you’re already on the beach. Nights might be better based on reviews of frozen drinks, sunset, and live music. Watch out for the meatheads!

Very very fun beach bar. Delicious mojitos and great live music. Family-friendly. Kids and parents dancing around. Only con is the limited(and unclean) women’s restroom.

My daughter and I came to mesmutt beach on a Tuesday night. The music was pleasant. The dinner(rigatoni for me, salmon for my daughter) was fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and helpful. The beach was clean and the water was clear and warm.

The 4-star review is more about location than the food itself. The restaurant sits bayside inside the Suffolk County Park. Park admission isn’t required after 5pm. You may purchase and consume alcohol on their patio. You cannot bring your own alcohol, nor may you drink alcohol on the beach. This is a great little place to get a group of friends together and watch the sunset while live music plays. The staff is always friendly but the food is nothing to rave about. The burgers are the typical frozen pre-prepared type(although compliments to the chef for being able to cook a puck to a perfect medium!) with a lonely piece of american cheese perched atop. Likewise the fries and onion rings are typical frozen fare. The hot dogs are straight out of your high school cafeteria. The lobster roll was well received. Still the food is acceptable and the location is exceptional.

Never giving another dollar to the piss-poor tone-deaf management of this establishment. The food is unremarkable and the prices are predatory. The car show in the town lot is patrolled by Beach Hut’s security goons, who will make you throw away any drink that’s not in their own cup. Alcohol is served here, so it’s not about an open-container violation. It’s about protecting the racket they’ve got going with the drinks. And it IS a racket– they don’t own the land they operate on. They have no justification to hassle you for outside beverages. Even more telling– voice your concerns to them through social media and they will block you instead of responding. I reached out to the Facebook page, and my comment was deleted, and I was blocked. Bunch of old timey beach bullies.

Nice beach setting and the food is ok. Tough to say much more when you eat with plastic utensils. Great sunsets and Friday night car gathering is the best. Try it, you’ll like it.

Good food and drinks(rum punch and crab cakes). Cute family beach and local bands playing every night. Wednesday is salsa night, don’t miss it!!! It’s a real party! And every Friday is a classic car show, which is very cool. Love this place.

We vacation in Southampton for two weeks every summer and we usually try to rent a house as close as possible to Meschutt. It is a perfect beach for the kiddos and we absolutely LOVE The Beach Hut! Great food(for a great price compared to any other restaurants in the Hamptons!!!) They have great live music almost every night, beautiful sunsets, and a friendly staff. LOVETHISPLACE!!! Can’t wait for summer to get here so we can make out trek out East! The menu never seems to change but it really doesn’t need to, the rigatoni ala vodka is my favorite but EVERYTHING is good. Other recommendations are: sautéed mussels, steamed littlenecks, and the blackend yellowfin!

Best place to be in the summer. My family from the Bronx love coming to the beach hut when they come to the hampton. Great service, excellent bar service and lets not talk about the food great taste by far. The wait staff is very helpful and always have a smile on their faces. Charming family oriented place. Can’t wait to take my son next year.

This is the place I miss the most when Summer in the Hamptons is over. In my opinion the perfect combination of my favorite things… 1. On the beach 2. Surprisingly delicious food! 3. Even more surprisingly delicious drinks!(Mudslides the best on Long Island) 4. Live music, typically a really good classic rock band 5. On Friday’s only, an old car show where people come from all over to show off their classic cars. I could talk about this place forever but take a look at the 5 things and figure it out for yourself. Plenty of tables, staff is friendly and quick considering how many people are there, sun sets over the water every evening and a great place to bring friends. This IS my #1 Friday spot. You’ll be lucky to have the chance to go here. Enjoy!

A charming little Hamptons tradition. I can hardly imagine anything more perfect than a Long Island sunset, celebrated with the best of friends and a wicked mudslide. That was the first night of my Labor Day weekend vacation, and it was fabulous. I’ve been coming to this place for years. Friday nights during the summer, they host a classic car show. It’s fun to stroll around with a cocktail and check out the renovated rides. They also have incredible drinks … best mudslide EVER, and the rum punch packs a serious one. The food is mostly seafood, so I didn’t really eat, but I recall it being pretty tasty from years past. They also have live music — generally playing classic tunes that everyone can sing along to. As the night wears on, people hit the dance floor. It’s a blast dancing and singing with partygoers of all ages.

Stand on line to order your Big Pina Coladas’… Outdoor ameteurish bands. Kids screaming from the tourists parked next door… at the RV parking ground. This is a down to earth messy little place on the bay side with pebbly little beach for the kids… I love it. Sit there with your sun glasses on. and mix it up sitting on the sand in the plastic chairs and tables. with the very very eclectic transient crowd! No one here is famous!
