Thanks, Unilocal! After finding Lobster Grill closed we searched for waterfront restaurants and found this. Cute ‘lil salads were delicious as were our main courses; divers scallops and blackened ahi tuna. Good, friendly service and a great scenic spot rounded out the evening. Cherry on top was the 5% discount for«checking in». Response to Dave’s question re: beverages – a beautiful summer evening deserves«Gin and Tonics» in our opinion.

One of my favorite restaurants all year around. They consistently have delicious specialty drinks and the food is great too! We come here often and enjoy it every time.

June 4, 2016: Our women’s retreat was in the Hamptons this year and we loved Cowfish. They do not take reservations for under 10 people so we went a little earlier than we had planned(6PM instead of 8PM since they told us over the phone the wait would be two hours!). Valet parking is FREE, which is great, and was very organized. Since we arrived earlier we only had about an hour wait, which was fine since there was live music outside and plenty of people just hanging around chatting and laughing. There were also a few games on the lawn. People were docking their boats on either side of the restaurant, which was cool. We loved the atmosphere. Once our pager went off, we went back to the front stand but we were then told our table was being cleared off(so why did the pager go off?). We were finally led upstairs to a table on the upstairs terrace. We assumed we would be eating inside since it was upstairs and we hadn’t been asked«inside or out?» It was very cool up there so we didn’t linger long after we ate, but the food was delicious. I just had the burger but it was one of the best I’d had in a long time. The ribs looked great — two in our party had them. I think someone else had the salmon. We were all pleased with the food and the night overall. The chill/fog coming in was the only downer. We would have been more comfortable inside. We will definitely be back to Cowfish next time we are in the Hamptons.

Went for brunch in Marchn, they have a great menu which varies. Meal was delicious and the views are beautiful. Only downside is it’s small and can be loud.

Initially we were a party of 10, but the parking lot was supposedly full — the front desk was rude and unprofessional. They had refused to seat those present(7 of us) until the entire party had arrived, this went back and forth for a while until the other 3 gave up — but our table was given away! Why should staff complain about not having the entire party present, if the table isn’t even being reserved? Eventually we were given a buzzer, and even more waiting ensued… Now… on to the main course. After taking roughly half an hour to be seated(30 mins after the buzzer, one hour after our original reservation) — half of us had ordered burgers(medium rare) — which took just under an hour to arrive. Why does it take an hour to plate and serve 4 medium-rare burgers? At this point we were so hungry that anything seemed delicious — however I ate a bit slower and found a black thread in my «Shroom burger» and a body hair in the cheese. Time to re-brand or open up a new chain and call it «Thread Burger» — feel free to take all the credit for that name, you deserve it for the inspiration alone! This location needs to properly train their staff with customer courtesy(don’t turn away guests with reservations because of an error on the restaurant’s end) and at least some of their cooking staff with better hygiene. 2⁄5 stars seems a bit generous — but at least the deserts we ordered arrived quickly, but at this point ordering an ice cream and receiving ice cream soup instead would not have surprised any of us.

Love love love LOVE this restaurant. Been here a handful of times and I’d rate it 5 stars every single time. First off, the location is beautiful. It’s right off of the Shinnecock Bay, so you’re surrounded by water and boats– perfect summer spot to grab a bite as the sun sets or come with friends for happy hour. During the warmer months, there is an outdoor bar & patio with lots of seating, so it’s also a great idea to go earlier than your reservation and grab a drink or two so that you can enjoy your surroundings. There’s outdoor seating for dinner located on the top deck when it gets a bit warmer as well. Another really cool thing about CowFish, is that there is a «Rumboat» decorated like a tiki hut that will take you across the bay to visit another really cool restaurant, Rumba’s. This past time that I came here with my boyfriend, we got here an hour before our reservation hoping to enjoy the nice night. It was still a bit too chilly for outdoor seating so we grabbed drinks and the hummus app at the upstairs bar until it was time for us to be seated. They were offering a prix fixe 3 course menu for $ 29(if I remember correctly) which was a great deal. This was my first time seeing their prix fixe menu and it did not disappoint. The portions are large– we were so stuffed after our entrees, we decided to wrap our dessert to go. Our dinner choices were: the strawberry and goat cheese salad and lobster Mac for an app, the ribs and the seared tuna for our entrees, and the berries with mascarpone and cookies and cream cheesecake for dessert(both amazing). Everything was perfect. My favorite was the lobster Mac with crab meat on top– it might have even been the best I’ve ever had. The French press coffee deserves it’s own paragraph because, oh my god, I couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was for the rest of the week. If you are a coffee lover, GETTHECOFFEE. I was in heaven. There were two older women sitting next to us who caught a whiff of it and asked what we were drinking because it smelt so delicious. They were surprised when we told them what it was because they both weren’t coffee drinkers. Seriously, get the coffee. Service was quick and attentive. We had two lovely ladies serve us(one was in training) that did a great job. The hosts, bartenders, and servers are very professional here. Don’t forget to check in for 5% off your bill! All in all, Cowfish is an EXPERIENCE to say the least. You can create a lot of memories here if you take advantage of everything it has to offer. If you’re in the Hampton Bays area, definitely make a point to come here, you will be glad you did.

My husband surprised me and we came here for my birthday. What an amazing dinner! The lobster Mac n cheese was to die for! My husband loved the clam chowder. I had the amazing baby back ribs and he had the steak with huge baked potato. Amazing dinner. The white chocolate cheesecake was delicious as well as the berry dessert with marscapone cheese. It was consistently a full restaurant and service never lacked for 1 minute. Staff was constantly attentive. We will be back and can’t wait to try RUMBA!!!

We came here last night for dinner with the parents. My mother in-law made a reservation for the four of us at 7pm. When we arrived, the hostess said she did not have a reservation for us. My mother-in-law showed her the call record on her phone, but she still insisted there was no reservation for us. We were given a pager and asked to wait upstairs by the bar with an estimated wait time of 20 minutes. You would think she would have offered us a cocktail or something for the confusion — but no. We went upstairs for a few drinks and a half hour went by without any update from the hostess and no activity from the pager. We checked in with her, and she said we were next up for a table. We didn’t get our table until 7:45(45 minutes after our reservation time … not good!). We didn’t mind waiting because we had good company and good drinks and we are regulars here. However, my father in law’s grey goose and 7-Up first came as a grey goose and tonic, but he did not mention this to the bartender. We had the skillet cornbread for an app, which is always delicious. My husband and his mother got the baby wedge salad. Instead of it being prepared fresh, it tasted like it was pre-made and sitting in a fridge. The bottom of the salad was watery and the tomatoes were mushy. This is usually one of my husband’s favorite items to order and he was disappointed. To be honest, we are a little tired of the same olé’ menu. It hasn’t changed since the place opened with the exception of nightly specials. I wish Dave would do a seasonal menu that changes with what is in season, local, and fresh. My hubby and his Dad ordered the filet(their usual order), my mother-in-law ordered the NY Strip, and I ordered the tuna special — seared tuna with a ponzu glaze served over coconut fried rice. When the entrees arrived, my husband and his father cut into their filets to find them almost completely rare inside. The temp was barely warm(they ordered them medium well). They both took one look at each other and said … «We can’t eat this». The server gladly took the steaks back, but that left the two of us ladies eating our dinners at separate times from the guys. Again … no apologies … no offers for something gratis. nothing. The only reason why I’m re-reviewing with 3 stars instead of 2 is because my tuna dish was amazing! I wish this was on the menu as a regular item because I could eat it three times per week! I’m hoping to re-create this dish at home somehow. Besides my dinner, I am a disappointed with the service and lack of quality. I thought that the off season would provide the opportunity for enhanced service and fine tuning instead of a lack luster experience.

Absolutely amazing brunch! Come in the spring and sit outside. Stunning view of the bay. Relax with a drink and enjoy. Getting there is interesting. Access through the seafood market’s parking lot down the alley. Follow the signs!

Fantastic views with phenomenal food. What else is there? The Sushi was incredible the Maui Wow-e roll was the best sushi roll I’ve ever had. The scallops were cooked perfectly… Perfect evening. Thank you Cowfish!

Excellent food in a beautiful setting. After trying their sister restaurant, Rumba and rating it highly we wanted to try Cowfish. We came for lunch, we wanted to sit outside on the upstairs deck, but there was a 25 minute wait so we ate inside and then had some drinks outside after our meal to enjoy the view. My husband and I shared the Blackened Fish Sandwich & The Club. Both sandwiches were delicious, with the fish sandwich being my favorite. Although we were full afterwards, we couldn’t leave without trying the Iron Skillet cookie, which was sooo good! It was warm and gewy, I loved it. After our meal we moved outside to enjoy happy hour at the bar outside and enjoy the view. It was a great end to our Hamptons weekend. We are considering driving up from NYC to sample all the great food we had in Hampton Bays all over again!

The Quick: Million dollar view for a reasonable price– for the Hamptons at least. Good food, drinks, and service. Expect a wait on weekends. The Details: Most tables have a great view of the water, which makes up for the wait and possible crowds. The food is very good and the staff does their best to accommodate. The lobster stuffed mushrooms are a treat(only 3 pieces) and the sushi rolls are extremely interesting. Nice spot in the area. The Damage: Lunch for 2– an appetizer, one drink, two entrees ~ $ 65 without tip. Not cheap, but we got a good amount of food, and it is the Hamptons after all.

This place was incredible. It’s sitting on the bay with an amazing view of the water and boat dock, there are games to play, live music, chairs to relax in, and a cute outdoor bar to grab a drink. We waited for less time than they estimated, which is always nice. THEFOOD was so good. We got the clam chowder(amazing) the buffalo shrimp(was actually BBQ, but still good) and the oysters Hampton which was very good. My boyfriend got the ribeye with the special house sauce and I got the french dip. All so, so good. Definitely recommend for a night of great food and atmosphere. Tip: GPS won’t tell you is to actually drive there. Make the turn of the main road before the restaurant, then it’s the first turn on your left and you’ll see signs.

Drove past this waterfront restaurant while in Southampton so decided to check it out for lunch. The views are the best thing about the restaurant. Our server did her job but I didn’t feel like she was too friendly(there was a sign saying they wanted to hire more friendly people). We came with a big group around noon on a Friday and there was barely anyone in the restaurant! By the time we left, there was more of a crowd but still no wait. Despite having a big group, food came out quickly. The appetizers came out after just a few minutes. We were hoping to have more seafood options than were on the menu but still tried a lot of things. I was generally a bigger fan of the apps rather than my entrée. From what I remember: Appetizers: **Deviled eggs with brown sugared bacons(3) — the best menu item I tried **Oysters Hampton(3) — fried oysters with Reggiano creamed spinach spread underneath and garlic aioli/sriracha on top **Skillet corn bread — because all of the other appetizers only came in 3s, we expected the corn bread to also be small but it comes in a decent sized skillet. You can definitely see and taste bits of corn and jalapeño. Entrees: **Blackened fish sandwich — a big sandwich that only tasted okay. the slaw on the side was not good at all **Shrimp & Crab Remoulade Salad — salad with brussel sprout leafs. yum! My friends who ordered this really liked it. **Chicken Caesar Salad — my friend asked for dressing on the side and they didn’t do that the first time

The ambiance is perfect. Beautiful view, setting and surroundings. The food is on point. The drinks are delicious and the bar is more than large enough to satisfy. We tried a few of their rolls. Everything was very fresh and better then what I would expect at a non Japanese restaurant. For my entrée I decided to try the french dip at the last second, which was great. But I just wish the portion was alittle larger. The side of mac n cheese was delicious. Best part about this place is you can text Rumba to come pick you up if you feel like taking a trip down the canal to their sister bar/restaurant.

It’s a simple equation: fresh, well-prepared seafood + sunshine + alcohol + friends = happy. CowFish might cost a little bit more than you’d like, but fresh, well-prepared seafood + sunshine + alcohol + friends — $$$ still = happy. And I don’t know how many times I have to tell you this, but this is the Hamptons. It’s not going to be cheap. If you can get your head out of your ass and move past the slightly inflated prices, you’d probably realize that life doesn’t get much better than eating gorgeous, delicious food on CowFish’s sunny deck, with a view of the water. They have a limited number of brunch items, but I’ve personally never felt limited by the deliciousness of the Rockefeller Benedict. Or the soft-shell crab BLT they had on special. Or the shrimp and grits. Or the steak and eggs. Wash any of those down with a bloody mary, and tell me you’re having a bad day. I’ll call you a liar and then never talk to you again, because your priorities are screwed up. The rest of you though, let’s go back and have some early evening cocktails and a burger.
