I have been meaning to write this review, but kept forgetting! I went here in late August 2011(the weekend of Hurricane Irene!) with my fiancé. We came because I saw a Groupon and wanted to check out this Fish Pedicure! We were in town for the weekend(we live in Oakland, but Norfolk is my hometown). It was one of the best pedicures I ever had! The ladies there were very friendly! We originally had our appt on the Sat, but we changed it to Friday late afternoon because of the possible Hurricane hitting(which it did). They were very accomodating, which was great since we were not in town for very long. I’m not sure quite how I feel about the Fish part of the pedicure(its a weird, tickly feeling!), but the actual pedicure was great! I can’t remember the name of the women who did the pedicures, but I know my technician was working really hard to scrub all the dead skin off my feet! We were actually very impressed when we first stepped into the place because one of them was cleaning the pedicure station very thoroughly. If only this place were close, I would definitely be a regular. But unfortunately I am not and even when I come visit, I’m in Norfolk and there is that pesky tunnel I would have to go through. I did want to make sure to give them a great review! Maybe during my next trip«home», I will try to find the time!

I absolutely LOVE Jarnise– she does a great job for my feet. I have had most of the girls do a pedicure, and they were all great, but Jarnise is the best fit for my feet needs! Fish pedicure is great but I have only done it once bc of the price. I get classic and spa pedicures usually once a month. Look for specials on their website and groupon!

Went here for the first time today got a pedicure & a eyebrow threading. The pedicure was great! Probably the best one I have ever had! Now I had never had a threading before but I wanted to try it, was ok for the top of the brow but under it was a bit tender so Jarnice had no problem just waxing the underneath part!!! The girls there today were so very nice & spoke english! YAH!!! Will definitely be back!!!

This place is so overpriced and unprofessional! If you can’t paint nails without bubbles, don’t charge 80 for a manni pedi! I could get 4, better quality sessions in Nyc for the price of one visit here. They only had one, ONE nail dryer and the interior was messy and under furnished. Save your money and go to the peninsula towne center!(though the nail techs are very nice)

I cannot begin to describe how disappointed I am with this salon. I purchased a Groupon a few weeks back for the Dr. Fish pedicure, wanting to use it today with two members of my family the day before my college graduation. I had made the appointments a few weeks back, and when I didn’t hear anything from them by 3 pm yesterday, I gave them a call to confirm my appointment. I was very disappointed to find out that they did not have my 3 pm appointment, and if I wanted to have 3 people do the fish pedicure, I would have to come in a 4 pm the next day. I went ahead and re-scheduled the manicures and pedicures, hoping that it was a fluke. I went in this afternoon and there was no receptionist to greet us, and we were told to have a seat and someone would be with us shortly. There were three pedicure chairs on one side of the room, two of which were occupied, and 4 pedicure chairs on the other side of the room, one of which was occupied. After waiting around for 10 minutes, an employee finally came and moved the one woman who had been sitting in water for quite a while to actually get her pedicure started, freeing up the 4 seats on the right side of the room. Then another woman came, emptied the water in the tubs in those chairs(never cleaning them) and going to another room to get a large bucket of water for the three chairs my family & I were to occupy. When she finally put the water in the chairs, then she got some fish and put them in each tub. After finally being able to sit and get the fish pedicure started, we each went to put our feet in the water and it was fairly cold, not even room temperature. All the while, the 3 women sitting on the other side of the room opposite of us were in varying stages of having their pedicures STARTED, one woman who had been there for at least 20 minutes or more. After sitting in the fish pedicure for over 10 minutes, we finally had to complain that the fish weren’t doing anything. They were barely nibbling our feet, and none of us were new to this experience, since we had done this before at a different salon. No one on the staff seemed to care, saying that they normally were pretty active. After voicing our complaints a few times, another customer on the other side of the room stated that the fish didn’t really do anything for her either. At this point, one employee did go and get more fish, but only for one of my family members, not for the other two people in our party. After soaking my feet in the cold water for over 20 minutes, I finally had to take my feet out, since they were cold. A few minutes later, the three woman who had been sitting across from us were finally finished with their actual pedicures, so the employees had been doing pedicures on them for well over 30 minutes, and some of the women had just been sitting around for well beyond that, waiting for the actual pedicure to start. I don’t know if you’ve ever visited a nail salon, but a pedicure should take no more than 20 minutes, tops. After soaking in the pedicure tub for 5 minutes, a woman finally came over to start on ONE of my family members. We finally voiced our complaints about how ridiculous this whole situation was, since there were several woman just walking around, not doing anything. At this point it was obvious that the staff did not care about earning new clients, or possibly felt that they didn’t need our business, so we offered to pay for what we had already received and left. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. I can’t believe how rudely we were treated, or how poorly this«salon» is run. We ended up leaving and going to another salon in the Peninsula Town Center(5 mins away) and were in and out for manicures, pedicures and eye brow waxing in an hour and a half. All About the Sole lost quite a bit of money from us due to their incompetence today, and I can only hope that this review will save someone the time and frustration that I experienced.

Have you ever heard of Dr. Fish Pedicures? Well you need to check this out! I went to All About The Sole after hearing about Dr. Fish therapies on a talk show. Basically you put your feet in a tank of warm water with Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomus fish and they nibble the dead skin off. Sounds gross, right? It was awesome! I wanted to try something different and found the experience new, exciting, hilarious and yielding great results! The ladies who own the spa greeted me with happy faces, were talkative and inviting, and spoke English. They cleaned my feet, then changed the water in the tank, set me up for the nibbles and waited. There were big and small fish in the tank and they went at my toes and heels like crazy. Some of them were hungrier than others. I made a complete nut out of myself laughing. It tickled! Afterward they completed the little fish’s work with a pedicure. They didn’t cut the calluses, everything was clean and organized, and the ladies were more than willing to explain everything to me.(I don’t go to spas often, so I was loaded with questions…) I recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing, good time. Take your friends with you, they do groups. I went with my Mom for Mother’s Day, which needed an appointment. I suggest making one to make sure you are taken care of in a timely manner.
