Right on the beach, you can relax and watch the people go by without being over heated. Service is good, bar is nice and the tables are well spaced apart(you don’t feel like you’re on top of other people). Kat was our waitress she was great, she knew the menu and always made sure we had everything I needed.

This review is long overdue. Last summer during a visit prior to a concert at the ballroom, I walked up to a fully packed bar where a group of friends were sitting. The old hag behind the bar asks me what I’m drinking, and before I could even see the selection of beers they offered she says rather loudly«I don’t have time to wait for you«and walks away. Glad I got in the door before having my head chewed off. The woman clearly doesn’t belong in the service industry. Even the much friendlier younger bartender working with her made a face at her behavior. It’s a shame that she’s probably still going to be working there this upcoming summer because I visit often for concerts every year.

This place is a local seasonal staple for me. The staff is extremely friendly, and i love that they have live music during expected busy times(its always cover bands, but usually pretty good). The food is what i would consider middle of the road(3 star, but staff and music pushes establishment to a 4), meaning i have no issue eating here on a regular basis, its among the best on the beach, but its not a 5 star place(it is the beach after all).

Four stars for service, waitstaff, location and view of beach. Wish I could say the same about the food. I order stuffed shrimp which looked appealing based on the description. ***Five Fantail shrimp baked with our seafood stuffing, served with choice of potato and daily vegetable*** But when the food came it was overcooked shrimp baked with some sort of stuffing over it(not seafood stuffing as advertised) with a side of corn and baked potato. I felt bamboozled but I was so hungry I decided to eat what I could. The corn and baked potato were fine but the stuffing around the shrimp was horrible, worse than box stuffing mix and the shrimp were small(not fantail) and overcooked. I know this isn’t a fine dining establishment but I was expecting better.

On our return trip, the place outperformed the first visit. I was still very happy with the place, but that was the case on my first trip. The Shrimp Scampi was very well received(by the same person that was disappointed with the Seafood Trio on visit #1). It took a little longer to get a table this time, but it was a busy night at the beach. That’s top be expected. Service was great. Food continues to be very good. This place has moved up to a favorite location along the beach.

Honestly, the food wasn’t horrible. There are plenty of places to get food on the boardwalk, but I’m pleased I chose to order a wrap here. It was pretty good. The service is another story. We didn’t wait to be seated or have to wait long for our food and drinks, but the waitresses have such a TUDE. Ours seemed very shy and had the personality of a brick. Just not impressed… I honestly felt awkward sitting there. The restaurant was slow, too, so all the waitresses and hostess were standing there staring. It was just enough to make me not go back…

I have been coming to hampton for years, yet never once ate here. Wow i have been missing out. I had the baked haddock with mashed potato and carrots, it was absolutely the best fish i had in years, so fresh and good. The other 3 people in our group had fried haddock with fries and Coleslaw which all ate everything. Looking forward to eating here again. My only complaint feeling rushed to have to leave after we ate

Eh. This is what Hampton offers for sit down experience at a $ 30 tab with a waitress /waiter? I expected better. Fish N Chips w/Coleslaw and Chicken Caesar Wrap w/Fries were ordered along with a Coke and Lemonade. Chicken wrap was great. Perfect balance between lettuce, chicken, Parmesan, NO croutons?, dressing. Came with a half sour pickle spear which was at around 90 degrees and very limp. Gross. Fries were under cooked and soggy. Fish N Chips — More like popcorn fried fish… same under cooked french fries. No coleslaw to be found, despite being on the menu. Waitress while nice, came across like an over privileged college student and we were a nuisance. Hopefully, her tip reminded her of her attitude. Overall, I would give 1 star if not for the decent chicken wrap. In this area, with so many food options, the $ 30 would have been better spent along the boardwalk at some greasy sub place. At least we would have paid less and gotten what we expected. Won’t be visiting this place anytime soon.

Ok the oysters from Maine were bland and it was so off putting that we decided to end our meal there. Otherwise try the craft beers– Not Your Father’s root-beer was delicious! Oh and the burgers looked good…

$ 6 for Campbell’s clam chowder w/no crackers, place is overpriced. Food is fair. Didn’t want to order much because of the sticker shock from the menu. Cesar salad was extremely basic. Standard cream dressing. Lobster stew came out cold My sister ordered the bacon wrapped scallops, she said they were good. they come with the maple dipping sauce which was«creative». My mother ordered the lobster roll came with fries. Was very bland she said. All in all $ 75 for 2 soups 2 salads 1 lobster roll, and 1 order of scallops.

Horrible service, my brother, my girlfriend and I ate here after a day in Hampton and Portsmouth and was an all around bad experience. The Service: Our server, Kelsey, was slow, and unatentive. It took her twenty minutes to even bring us our waters. The food: HORRIBLE! My brother and I each had the baked stuffed shrimp, both with rice pilaf and steamed carrots. the carrots were inconsistent, some were cooked more thorough than others and They were cold like they were just pulled from the fridge. The rice pilaf was tasted like it was cooked from a box and sat out, and were also cold. The baked stuffed shrimp was luke warm at best. Horrible quality and Not at all enough food to justify spending 19 dollars on the dish each. I also had the lobster stew. Also as cold as coming from an ice bucket. Tasted like salt and butter broth with literally 3 pieces of lobster. My girlfriend had the buffalo chicken wrap, she asked for it with out tomatoes, of coarse there were tomatoes on it when she got it. She said it could have been a lot hotter in temp. But other than the tomatoes wasn’t bad. Save your money and your time and go someplace else!

Rented a house owned by the Boardwalk this summer July 4−11th. Amazing experience. Top notch from the spectacular service of the housekeepers all the way back to the bartenders. Food was delicious and that has nothing to do with the 15% off you receive from staying at a boardwalk property. Do not even get me started on the general manager, Traci, who is the most accommodating manager, a complete sweetheart, and a total muffin. Darlene the hotel manager is just as amazing. I cant say enough good things. Thanks Boardwalk for a great vacation.

The clam strips and lobster roll is AMAZING! Their fries are alright. They have souvenir alcohol selection of a bucket, cup and glass. I got the glass, it was 9.50 so that was a great price for the glass and the drink. The drink was pretty good too! If you come here, you need to get the lobster roll. Its 16.99 for the roll packed with lobster and fries on the side, very much worth it.

We won’t be going here again. No one on the deck besides us and the jam another table of people super close to the point one side can’t move. Ordered the Pickled Mary which they advertised as with a dill pickle but ended up being a sweet gerkin and was a gross combo. Ordered steamers and half the shells were smashed up. The«butter» must have been margarine and was like tasteless oil. Had to go find the waitress to pay for the bill. Wouldn’t return!

Came here today for my friends birthday with a party of 4. Friendly greet, awesome attentive waitress, and a seat on the patio in the sun :) the food was phenomenal, the seafood was so fresh and not at all dry or overcooked and the nachos were cheesy all throughout. Such a good find, can’t wait to come back with my boyfriend next time we’re at the beach!

I went to this place in the afternoon for a couple drinks and was not disappointed. Every item on their drink menu looked fantastically yummy. I chose the key lime pie tini and the creamsicle tini. Oh my yum… They were both wicked good but so sweet that there was no way I could have another one… Near the end of my stay I was a tiny bit hungry so I order a coconut shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were super good but also wicked sweet… I needed some water to wash down all the excess sweet. This place has a good view of the ocean with the wall facing the ocean being made completely of glass. The bartender seemed a bit awkward but he got the job done… All in all this is a good place to stop and try out some new drinks and enjoy the view :)

So picture this: It’s our 5 year anniversary. The husband and I book a one night stay at the Ashworth. We check in and decide to walk the strip. We’re walking for about an hour and the skies open up. So we decide to duck out of the rain and grab a drink or two until it passes. We head into the Boardwalk. I’d been there once before a concert and remembered it being good. So we go to the second floor and sit at the bar. We are first served by a newbie bartender who promptly gets a glass stuck in a shaker, mid-drink. Next shifts bartender JoJo shows up and attempts to get the glass unstuck. No one can do it and it becomes a long term project. Later my husband suggests placing the glass and shaker in the dishwasher so the hot water can expand the metal and release the glass. It worked! High fives all around the bar. LOL We get to talk to JoJo for awhile and she is funny and sweet and makes damn good drinks. We ended up not wanting to leave the bar for dinner. We had initially wanted to go find some sushi for our anniversary dinner but we decided to stay here and indulge. My husband had the Steak Tip dinner and I had the Fried Scallops. Both meals were insanely delicious and fresh. We had a couple more drinks and said goodbye. So essentially, we went in to stay dry for a bit and stayed for HOURS it was that good. By far I think the time spent here was one of my favorite parts of our anniversary. Delicious, affordable and fun.

The Boardwalk is a special place to me and Mr. G. We’ve been coming here for years for food and drinks after a day on the beach. We share many fun memories over the years here in Hampton beach. 6 years ago Mr G proposed to me here. It may not sound so romantic to some but for me it was perfect. It just added to the long list of wonderful times I’ve had laughing and enjoying the ocean beach weather. So here it is our 5th anniversary and why not celebrate it back at the Boardwalk. The bar where we sat has been moved since they just renovated the entire place. Both 1st and 2nd floor are in better areas. We really enjoy the 2nd floor since you can sit and look out at the ocean or sit outside facing in as the bar is a full circle with the wall/windows opening up. The main entrance moved so you’re no longer coming into the main dining area which makes traffic flow smoother and isn’t as disrupting to those eating. We’ve really enjoyed the food. The onion rings are thin and crisp. A side order is plenty but we’ve also gotten a regular order to share which is mountain high and hot. Steamers, mussels, fish and chips are favorites. We’ve also ordered the fisherman’s platter to share among 4 ppl. The steak tip Caesar salad rocks. The tips are flavorful with a tasty marinade and cooked well. The drinks range based on bartender so we’ve found Scott makes the best ones. He’s a seasoned pleasant guys who knows his way around the place from food to drinks to clean up… all with a smile. He is happy to be there and we don’t feel like we are bothering him when is time to order. He makes a refreshing long island ice tea and Mr. G was super happy with his dirty martini. I don’t think I’ve ever stalked anyone but I’d rather sit and have a drink made by him rather than a hoe hum basic beverage. We got a tour of the third floor rooms which were also updated. Clean and modern with decent pricing. We don’t need a place to stay but I’d recommend it if you’re looking. This is also a great place to watch the fireworks if you happen to time your meal right. Sit outside and you can see them pretty well. The only add on would be hooks under the bar to hang my purse and coat but that’s small in comparison to all the pluses. Needless to say I’m very happy stopping in for drinks and food to celebrate my 5th wedding anniversary. Thanks Boardwalk!

We typically visit Markey’s on our way home from the beach but we were HUNGRY… We were going to go to Sea Ketch but they don’t serve ONIONRINGS so we asked and was seated in the inside(by our request) but had a good view of the«boardwalk area» as it is an open restuarant… bring a sweater… if it’s chilly… It TOOKFOREVER just to get our drink order in… and by the time the waiter came around(he said i’ll be with you 2x) we ordered our entire meal. I had a DELICIOUS12.99 lunch special fried clams with french fries and cole slaw… ALL was VERY good and HOT… It was what I expected at this price… No complaints… It scratched my itch … especially since Sea Ketch meal was $ 23. I had a delicous Sam Summers for a beverage served in a very cool glass with a lemon! Unfortunately… my wife’s order was screwed up… she ordered the chicken platter which was 11.99 but wanted to substitute onion rings instead of fries… they couldn’t do that … so I paid $ 2.99 for a side of onion rings… NOBIGDEAL… It took a long time to get our plates… However when our platters finally arrived… NOONIONRINGS… I mentioned this politely to the waiter and he said he would get them… My wife’s plate was WARM not HOT… We were done with our meal with no sign of onion rings… and I told him just to pack the rings up in a TOGO box… During checkout he apologized and said if he could find his manager he would of taken them off the bill. We suspect maybe he had issues in the past… Anyways… the ONIONRINGS were very good… and we enjoyed them on the BEACH! I think this place is nice has good food just needs some better staff, more staff per table or more training… it is the beginning of the SEASON… I wouldn’t hesitate to go back!
