Never again! Charged $ 14.50 this past Friday even though we haven’t been there since SEPTEMBER2015! Called and asked why my card was charged this amount months after dining there and was told that it was for a tip that didn’t go through their machine(their card machine was not working this night) but had tipped the waitress and never debited my card. No request to charge the card, they just did. So when I called to complain, they were able to pull up the receipt and see that it wasn’t even the correct amount left for the tip. They charged me for someone else’s tip! Promised to mail me a check for the $ 14.50. That was the beginning of January. It is now Feb 9th and no check and no returned call back. If that wasn’t enough, the food was not great. Don’t waste your time or money here. Big thumbs down! And Norman their«accountant» needs to learn how to treat the customer. If you make a promise — see it through Norm! Totally aggravated and may file a small claim through court to get my $ 14.50 back, just because I can!

Sad that with all the renovations at the Ashworth the quality and consistency of service, food and beverages still struggles. Fish was very oily, French Fries tasted like seafood(obviously cooked on same fryer) drinks were weak at best. Portion sizes are small over priced under delivered.

Just an average meal that was grossly overpriced. 13 bucks for a burger with Kraft cheese slices? Perhaps in the summer, but if I wasn’t staying here, I wouldn’t have stopped. On the positive note, decent tap selection and bartender Zoe was very friendly and checked in throughout the time I was there without being overbearing

We arrived and were a little surprised at the atmosphere. It was dark and very much looked like a hotel restaurant yet there were surf boards on the menu. Our waitress was pleasant, but did seem to want to rush us through our meal. My red wine was served in a small glass, not appropriate for red wine, and had a mouth mark on it when it arrived. The rolls were served with margarine. We ordered the mussels for an appetizer. They had sand in them and no flavor other than a briney aftertaste. My $ 25 steak came out smothered in gravy and huge. I looked more carefully and much of the sirloin was fat. Once I cut off the fat it still was not very good. It was overcooked, not a great cut of meat, and the thick gravy was overwhelming. The mashed potatoes served with it were cold. My cousin ordered the clam pasta that arrived swimming in pasta water and no sauce. She had to put some of the leftover margarine from the rolls in it to make it taste like something. I know this is a touristy spot, but the quality of food was really unacceptable for this price point. It was our worst and most expensive meal we had in Hampton Beach. We both left hungry and disappointed and had snacks later in the night. I am not someone to write reviews like this, but I want to save someone else from a disappointing experience. I’m sure their casual food is great and that’s where the positive reviews come from. Just don’t expect a special night out from this restaurant.

We were staying at the Ashworth Hotel, so we figured we would stop for the breakfast buffet offered at Breakers before heading to the beach. My advice is stay far away. The only edible items on the buffet were the fresh omelettes. The bagels were stale, fruit salad was watery and just bad, smoked salmon was warm, breakfast meats inedible, pancakes were cold and tasted like they were frozen … List goes on. So basically we paid $ 30 for 2 tiny omelettes and left hungry. Disappointing but not really that surprised.

We hosted our family reunion dinner in the Rose Room in Ashworth by the Sea’s Breaker’s restaurant. It was for a group of almost 50 and it could not have gone better. Melissa Clark(Gagnon) was a joy to work with to make the arrangements even over 3000 miles. The team the night of the event was friendly and helpful. The facility was easy for handicapped and seniors to navigate. This might not have been the cheapest option, but it met our needs.

Wonderful. Sat at the bar to have drinks and a semi quick meal. Beautiful inside, clean. Great bartenders. And we were out in plenty of time for our show.

My husband and I went to Breakers at the Ashworth last Friday for our anniversary dinner. Service was pretty awful… in fact, the waitress was SO bad, I will unfortunately never forget her. She promptly came when we were seated and the first thing she said was«Know what yer gonna get?». After everything we said, through the entire dinner, she said in an irritatingly high-pitched«yep» and ran off… I would have had a more intelligent, enlightening conversation with a goat. She did not know basic answers to our questions regarding the menu. Drinks took over 15 mins to arrive, and after about 25 mins, she decided to stop by and say our food should be out soon. At that point, I asked her if the appetizer was coming and she had forgotten to put it in(not that we were surprised at that point). She did comp the appetizer(bacon-wrapped scallops) and brought them out when we were halfway through eating our entrees, even though we weren’t interested in it at that point. This review gets 2 stars only because the food was decent. The bacon-wrapped scallops were good with nicely crisp bacon. The lobster was average and served with a baked potato and cole slaw. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium-rare with perfectly cooked asparagus, mashed potatoes, but the entire plate was drowning in a mediocre demi-glacé. This is absolutely a tourist spot, and perhaps this food would be acceptable for tourists who don’t really know how food in this area SHOULD taste. In summary, I wouldn’t even consider coming back here. «Yep».

Great restaurant! Nice place for a grownup night out. Drinks are a little pricey but were good. The spinach and artichoke dip was out of this world. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf. It was slightly spicy in a pleasant way and BACON! She had the lobster carbonara which was very good. Very attentive and friendly waitstaff helped earn the 5 stars. We would absolutely come back, but not soon because we are stuffed!

My boyfriend and I ate here for supper on our first night in Hampton beach and were not disappointed. He had the steak special of the night, when it arrived we were super surprised to see the color of it. He ordered the cook to be medium and the steak was so pink we couldn’t believe it… After taking a few bites he discovered that the color wasn’t because it was undercooked but because they didn’t grill the steak, they steamed it! He said it was the best steak he ever had! I had a seaside sunset cocktail(yumm) and bacon wrapped scallops for my meal. The scallops are really meant for an appetizer but I was still full from my mid afternoon snack that it was perfect. This restaurant is on the fancy side when compared to the other restaurants in Hampton beach but still has reasonably priced food and our waitress was super nice :)

Flawless meal and service tonight. It’s no small thing to order a burger well done and not get one that’s dry. My compliments to the chef! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. My server, Justine, was fantastic. Sweet as could be and on top of things. Can I give her extra stars? If I could, I would. The onion rings with horseradish are amazing. The dip was so creamy and delicious and the rings themselves were crispy perfection. Never had a bad meal or service here. Best restaurant on the beach.

This place needs new employees fast. My wife and I came here after the seafood festival and it was bad. Everyone in this place acted like they were being forced to work there including the manager. No one asked how our meals were, which were way overpriced. We felt so uncomfortable being there we couldnt wait to finish our meals and get out of there. It was like we were a bother to the staff being there spending our money. We would have had a better interaction in our hotel eating pizza talking to the walls.

Stopped in for the breakfast buffet on Sunday morning with a group of 12. After being told it would be 2 tables of 6 right next to each other, we were broken up into 3 tables of 6, 4 and 2. Maybe not totally their fault but worth mentioning. It was buffet only. The food was very good and enjoyed by all… when we could get it. On both of my trips up there were multiple things that were empty, including eggs, french toast and bacon as well as the fresh fruit. Server was good and did a thing or two to make up for the shortage of food, which was appreciated. Overall, good in many ways but lacking in efficiency of food availability.

Went for brunch Sunday morning and it wasn’t even a quarter full in there. It is buffet only and mediocre. Fold was warmish not hot. The waitress was very nice but a little overwhelmed about taking drink orders. Overall not worth the expense.

My wife and I dined on a Wednesday evening in June. The waitress was attentive. The food was above average. The seafood was fresh. The entire staff was courteous, and I got the feeling they genuinely cared about our dining experience. If you’re considering dining here, I’d tell you to give it a shot. It’s one of the few good«date night» places in the immediate area.

This wasn’t a bad restaurant, it was pretty big inside. We came here because it was the closest restaurant on that end of the beach. The hostess was very nice and so wasn’t the staff. The food was pretty good, I ordered the truffle french fries and the mozzarella tomato salad. Both were really good. My friend liked her dish too she got the oysters and the lobster cob salad. Wasn’t a bad spot and food wasn’t badly priced either. I will say though the beer could have been colder, it wasn’t that cold and a bit on the warmer side.

Came here with my wife last night for a nice night out. The host was great, our waitress was great and the food was amazing! This spot is on the street across from the ocean! Great views of the ocean and horizon and nice interior lighting which added to the ambiance. It was a slow Thursday night so it made for a nice romantic dinner. Keep in mind this is a high tourist area and probably will be packed on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday during the summer. Call ahead to check for wait times or reservations. Food: I had the Ashworth’s classic seafood newburg: Scallops, Shrimp and Lobster in sherry cream sauce, side of rice pilaf. Cooked perfectly, very rich sauce and tasted great. Wife’s: Filet«Oscar», Filet Mignon and Crab meat: the entire meal melts in your mouth. Great spot!!! Staff: Every single person we met was knowledgable, polite and professional. Final note: Great spot, our bill: $ 90 which was apps(shrimp cocktail and fried calamari) and entrees and ice cold beers all night. Again this is a high tourist area, keep that in mind when choosing a night to go during the summer.

Went here for lunch while staying at the ashworth. I ordered the zesty garden burger– SOGOOD! I highly recommend it! My boyfriend got the Sam Adams beer battered fish– he said it was very good. And his parents got cheeseburgers which they really liked. For appetizers we got bacon wrapped scallops and coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp were perfect and came with a nice sweet sauce. –1 star because we ordered sweet potato fries and got regular. Also, everyone said their soda was flat. Overall it was a nice place to grab a good meal!

I have to say, we had an excellent meal tonight in this restaurant. It is our first time at The Breakers, and the Ashworth by the Sea. We had wonderful service as soon as we entered the restaurant. I want to especially commend Molly, our server. She was attentive w/o intruding and not overly friendly but professional in her service. We had our meal delivered in good time and the food & beverage manager visited our table as I had asked about a certain wine. He checked on it & brought me a complimentary glass, which was unexpected. He even showed me the bottle so I could read the label & find it in my home town. I loved the wine and my dinner of Baked Stuffed Local Haddock. My husband had the Cedar Bourbon Salmon that he said was great! All in all our dining experience was awesome, & no complaints from staff when we switched tables:). If you haven’t eaten here lately, try it soon and hopefully you will have a similar wonderful experience.

Came in here solely because I had an Eversave voucher I had purchased. The idea of eating beach side was a nice appeal, but it totally wasn’t that. There’s not much for parking, but here’s a quick tip — if you’re dining here, you can valet/park in the lot directly across the street from the hotel for free just tip your valet. Only overnight guests have to pay the $ 7/night parking rate. The staff here were certainly friendly. But man was it sloooooowwwww… we weren’t expecting to stop in for an hour and a half lunch since we were heading up to Maine. We were hoping it’d be a lot quicker than that! Even an hour, but hour and a HALF?! Our group had a salad, fish & chips, and Lobster Mac & Cheese. Sorry but none of that takes that long to prepare! Speaking of the lobster mac & cheese… you’d think being right next to the beach this would be amazing right?! Absolutely not. The lobster had no taste! No flavor at all what-so-ever. Not even a frozen lobster could taste that bland! I’m not sure what they did but that certainly was no lobster mac & cheese. And what happened to my mac? It wasn’t macaroni, but another kind of pasta, but this too had barely any flavor. Now you know it’s bad when I tell you I’ve had better lobster mac & cheese at The Château than I did that day at Breaker’s! And I hate The Château, so that’s telling you something. So while the staff was nice, the food certainly could use some major over hauling. Much to say the least, I have a feeling I probably won’t be back here…
