Deja Vu Restaurant and Lounge

I dined there with a reservation of 15 people on February 25, 2016. I must say this is the worst restaurant in the 757!!! First of all the waitress did the best she could with what she had to work with. Not calling out anyone, but the cook (not chief) that night wasn’t worth anything. Spoke with the owner and his comment was that normally on Thursday nights they aren’t busy, so therefore he decides to put the cook with less experience in the kitchen??? Boy scout code of honor «Be always ready» Reservations were made for 5:30pm, so why let the «more experience cook leave @ 5pm???» When I showed him my meal, the owner did ask if I would like something else cooked!!! Get real, I waited over 45 minutes for what I had, I did not have another 45 minutes to waste. The proper suggestion from the owner would have been to ask if I wanted a refund. Then the owner had the nerve to say our food is cooked to order??? What the world, does he believes that his restaurant is the only one that cooks food to order… The slogan is correct for this restaurant «the ultimate Soul Food experience» so true, I have never had the worst ultimate Soul Food experience ever until I decided to dine with family at this establishment. If they had a rated from 0 – 10, I would rate this establishment negative, negative, negative zero.

Best soul food in town, all foods are prepared fresh and cooked to order. Largest big screen TV in area. Service is great… good place for Brunch, lunch, dinner, after work or social gatherings.

Go only if you have ALOT of time to wait while your food is being prepared. The food is ok, but the wait time makes the experience a bit frustrating.

Went for breakfast which is served all day, everyday.
French toast was good and comes with 2 sides at an affordable price.
Also tried the sweet potato pancakes that were delicious (also comes with 2 sides)
The staff and owners were great. They overheard that I was celebrating my birthday and surprised me with a piece of (breathtaking) almond cake and the BEST hall birthday song you will have sung in any restaurant.
Overall, I can’t wait to go back. The food is cooked fresh so there will be a wait on the food, but it’s worth it to have restaurant food with a home cooked taste.
They also have plans to do a lot of different events so everyone should check them out, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
