I called to ask about the age needed to make a reservation. Ken answered he told me 21 because it’s not a frat house. I tried to laugh it off. While I was laughing he hung up. I called back to get more information he told me he knows he’s an asshole and then proceeded to say«but». I then hung up. I was no longer interested. He then attempted to call me back 3 times in the next 2 hours. Dare I say harassment? I’ve never had any place call me back repeatedly like that. Very unprofessional and totally out of line. I was shocked with his actions. Who’s he to even know whether I am even 21 or younger. What if I just wanted to make sure little kids wouldn’t be running around. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has declined to stay there based on these actions. Also from the way he was talking it seemed like he must have been the owner or perhaps a manager of some sort. Save your self, don’t stay here.

Been coming here since 2007. It’s a clean, family run, centrally located hotel within steps of Hampton Beach. It’s surprisingly quiet for being located across the street from the Casino Ballroom. The rooms are always spotless and they have different levels of room size depending on your needs. We usually stay in one of the suites which has two bedrooms with one bathroom with a shower. The rooms have flat screen tv’s mounted to the walls with a full cable package. There is a nice back patio area with plenty of tables and seats for guests to relax at. There is a grill and utensils available for use which is always fun if you want to cook out a night or two. The front deck is a great spot to enjoy your evenings and people watch while sipping on your favorite libation. Parking is just down the road in a large lot and you get one parking pass per room. Ken and Donna(the husband/wife combo who own the Grayhurst) took the establishment over a handful of years ago from the other owners and have kept it going full steam with the same values we love about it. Ken is always on hand is quick to help with anything you need. It’s a family oriented hotel and is quiet, so if a rowdy party atmosphere then steer clear. If you want a clean, quiet, reliable, worry free and enjoyable stay at Hampton Beach then look no further! They have a loyal following so make sure you book your room in advance.

I have been to the East Coast countless number of times throughout my youth; my parents would take my brother and myself down every summer for a week, although we never stayed in Hampton Beach though. Now that I’m older, I still enjoy a trip down memory lane, and the Coast is definitely one of the ones I enjoy the most. Wanting to try a different area, I looked tirelessly for accommodations in Hampton Beach; everything was either too expensive or no vacancy. I had originally planned on staying at the Ships Inn a few streets down, but after reading awful reviews I decided to take my business elsewhere. I stumbled upon The Grayhurst by chance, and after reading the overall very pleasant reviews on Trip Advisor, I decided to give it a shot. All we wanted was a place close to the beach, with parking and perhaps WIFI. I had my heart set on an efficiency, but decided just to get a room with a microwave and fridge. In addition, their website had mentioned several upgrades made this year(new beds, mattresses and TVs), so I figured it was a safe bet. When I called to make the reservation, I spoke to Donna, and what a sweetheart! She was informative and gave me all the information I requested and, although I wasn’t 100% sure about making my reservation, she took down my name and number in case I called back and she would remember me. Sure enough, I called back perhaps an hour later, and she remembered me, including all the information I had given her, making the reservation that much easier. After it was all said and done, her husband Ken sent me a confirmation email and a receipt, which was a nice added touch. When the much-anticipated day came and we arrived at the hotel, we were ecstatic at its location; it couldn’t have been more perfect! Steps from the beach and boardwalk, LITERALLY, with an arcade across the street, and a small-time casino just down the street. Check-in was very smooth and simple; it’s a very cozy place, run by a husband and wife. We stayed in a general room, so no bells or whistles. We walked into the room, and although it was quite small — to give you a visual, you walk in and almost walk into the bed, with a sink behind the door, bathroom next to that with an accordion door(so not too much privacy, say if you’re feeling sick) and just on the other side of the bed was a counter with the microwave and fridge underneath. However, for the amount of time we actually spent in our room, it was no problem at all. The parking is a large municipal lot on a main boulevard which is just a quick hop, skip and a jump from the hotel, and there is WIFI available(however, it’s spotty at times). If you’re looking for a low-key accommodation by the beach, this is definitely a good place to keep in mind. And FYI, if you’re looking for a good café/pub, just up the street Is Boardwalk Inn Café; they serve great food, have live entertainment every night and good beer. Can’t go wrong!
