I just moved to the Hampton area and was excited to learn that there was a Publix nearby. This was my first time at this Publix and decided to get a few chicken wingettes to go. I asked the server if the wingettes behind the counter were fresh and she said they were just fried an hour ago. I opted to get these wingettes rather than waiting 20 minutes for fresh ones to come out of the fryer. Bad choice! When I bit into all of the wingettes, they were horribly old – like at least a day old. They were hard and tasted funny. I ended up throwing them in the trash. I have ordered chicken from other Publix stores and have never had a bad experience before now. I give it 2 stars because the cash register girl and bag boy were extra friendly and helpful. Otherwise I would give it only one star.
