We had been to the Chamberlin brunch buffet before but on August 22015 it was exceptional! Was especially impressed with the oysters on the half shell. Have never had them that plump and fresh! This was a very unexpected treat as we had had a shellfish roast on the beach the night before with shellfish from The Hampton Seafood Market and all but 3 of the oysters were ROTTEN!!! But date on bag was still good!

We hosted our wedding at the Chamberlin in October of 2010 after agonizing over which location we should chose for months. Turns out, we made the wrong decision! The Event Coordinator was terrible. She has a terrible customer service attitude and made several mistakes, including sending the wrong invoice for our wedding twice. The bar was not set-up in time for our cocktail hour to begin, so even though we paid for 3 hours of open bar, the bar outside was not set up for a full 20 minutes after our cocktail hour began! Super unprofessional, when it did get set up, it was in the wrong location and the line went all the way around the veranda. Why did I bother with planning all of these details, only to have everything fall apart at the last minute? Lots of people did not get a drink until the end of the cocktail hour. The food at the wedding was terrible, as well. We had an excellent sample and were ensured that the food would be the same at our wedding. They served us the wrong salad, the wrong risotto and the chicken was dry and tasteless. When we asked to speak to the chef that we had been working with for almost a year, we were told he had the night off. Seriously. After all of this we were told we would be compensated for our experience, after a discussion with both the Event Coordinator and the Executive Director, we were compensated not even 2% of the $ 14,000 we spent on what was supposed to be a magical night. Don’t waste your time here, you can get a better view, better food and better service elsewhere.

Now I am not really sure what exactly this place is. Is it senior living center? An event venue? I dunno, but regardless it’s absolutely beautiful. And if I was an old widow I’d totally want to live here. All of the old people that seemed to live there were nice and friendly and fawned over my son in his adorable sport coat as we walked around the place. So, the fact that they were there wasn’t an issue, but it was just weird to see all of these people just hanging out. We attended a wedding here last night and I thought the place was gorgeous. The ceremony took place on the top floor in a small room that over looked the ocean. Then there was a cocktail hour in the grand parlor which I thought was done really nicely. The reception hall was huge and also had floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the water with gorgeous chandeliers. I thought everything was done beautifully and that the staff was very professional and helpful. I had a great time at this place, and while I am still not sure what the purpose of the place really is, I’d totally of had my wedding there regardless.
