Chiipss

I bought my yearly pair of sneakers here the other day. This time it was a pair of low cut Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. The dude working was super helpful, looking for several shoes to see if they had them in my size.
They don’t open until 2 in the afternoon, which had me killing some time reading comics across the street at Detroit Threads, but that wasn’t a bad way to while away an early afternoon.
I’m not a skater, but I appreciated all the funky eye candy at Chiips. The deck that looked like a coney dog was especially sweet. And I’ve seen co-​workers rocking the Lions shirt done in the style of the old Tigers logo as well as the pot leaf socks.
Chiipss is a fun store. I don’t really understand why they spell it the way they do, but whatever…

In short, Chiipss is a skateboard-​centric store. Fully equipped with stylish skate decks, wheels, repair kits, skater shoes & clothing (Huf, Converse, Quite Life, Vans, etc), AND there’s a ramp where you can try out your new deck or bring your own & show off those kickflips & ollies!
They also run a full-​service screen-​printing shop out of here as well, so if you need tees, gig posters, totes, or whatever else printed they can help.
