Loved the shaved Ice so much I came here twice. Generous portions, for a reasonable price. The girl who served us yesterday was great, I can’t remember her name, she was super friendly and sweet. She gave my teenage daughter stores to shop at, places to visit, not only was the service great she connected with my daughter on a personal level, they even had the same slippers on. Would definitely recommend this place.

My kids could not get enough of this place. They would rather have shave ice over lunch. Shave ice was so ono. I dont know what else to say, but next time we visit the island of Kauai, we plan to get some shave iceat JoJo’s.

This was so delicious, I had the Ha Coffee and it tasted similar to a Frappacino. Once you get to to the bottom of the shaved ice the macademia ice cream is a sweet surprise! My kids got the Lilo & Stitch and my husband got the banana split– no complaints! Note– even the dakine size can feed 2

Tasty treat and friendly employees. We are use to snow cones. These are light snow, tasty, big, and just plain fun to eat.

Delicious flavors that are made with cane sugar not corn syrup! The very berry with macadamia nut ice cream is my favorite. The smaller size is still big enough to share. So delicious

I only don’t give them a 5 because the wait time is riiiiiiiiidiculous! I had 2 people in front of me the first time I went and it took almost 15 minutes to get my order, good grief! With that said it didn’t stop me going back again the next day! Two common«shams» with shave ice which you WON’T run into here: 1) Syrups are colorful but have no flavor. the«cherry» is red but tastes just as flavorless as the yellow«pineapple» — this place makes their own syrups, they’re very flavorful and true to the fruit they’re recreating. Really really good stuff. 2) Enough syrup is put on to color the serving but as soon as you dig in you find that it’s all fluffy white ice inside with no flavoring — JoJo’s does a great job saturating their shave ice all the way through so you aren’t needing to dig around to mix in additional syrup from the bottom. Excellent job here :) My favorite was the North Shore which is an assortment of fruit flavors on top of macadamia nut ice cream(not unlike butter pecan). OMG, it was awesome. Long wait but definitely the best shave ice I found on the island(and I tried several!).

I didn’t have time for lunch between an excursion to the Kilauea Lighthouse and an appointment for a tour at the nearby Na Aina Kai Gardens, so I drove to Hanalei for a quick shave ice from JoJo’s. I ordered a combination passionfruit and orange shave ice, with a macadamia nut ice cream base. The ice cream was almost over the top. I would have been perfectly satisfied with just the ice and the homemade syrups. The woman working behind the counter was extremely friendly and called out to customers by name. It was a great introduction to the Hawaiian shave ice institution.

We were finishing our dinner next door(same owner?), were standing there looking at the menu and then we walk up with 4 of us, at 7:01, and they wouldn’t serve us.

After hiking the Kalalau trail we wanted something cold and delicious. The rainbow shave ice was AMAZING! It was vanilla, banana, and strawberry shaved ice on top of a scoop of mac nut ice cream. Sooo good

The shave ice is very sweet and delicious. The waitress is super friendly and is unbelievably helpful. The portions are huge considering that it is on the cheaper side of life. I would recommend the one scoop macadamia ice cream or the small size rainbow shave ice. Even the small size of the shave ice is more than enough. Overall I would whole heartedly recommend this place.

I love shave ice, and, being pregnant in Hawaii yet again, ate it pretty much every day of the trip. JoJo’s was my favorite! The syrups were delicious and not cloying like some of the artificial ones. There was a long line that moved a bit slowly, but shave ice isn’t fast and they turned out goodies surprisingly fast!

This place has fantastic shave ice. The haupia topping and the home made syrups combined for a real treat. A small size is plenty to share.

I’ve tried three different shave ice places on the island and this is the best one by far! Homemade flavors, fun flavor combos, tasty cream topping, and towering ice above the cup make this a cut above the rest.

Tasty! I wish we had time to go back again during our trip. We got a coffee flavored shave ice. Make sure you get one that uses macadamia nut ice cream!

I read somewhere on the island that JoJo’s in Hanalei was voted number three on the 2015 Top 10 Best Shave Ice in Kauai, so I had to try it. Number one was located in Poipu. I haven’t eaten a lot of shave ice to agree or disagree with the vote placement but what I did know was I liked it. A lot. Mac nut ice cream is seriously good with shave ice and that’s how I recommend it. Pay that extra buck and a quarter, or whatever it is, and enjoy shave ice how it should be enjoyed. My palate really couldn’t identify each of the four flavors separately but it was colorful to the eye. I ordered strawberry, guava, lilikoi, and coconut and it all creamed nicely with the ice cream. So good! The small size is relatively big so stick with that option and add the mac nut ice cream. Once they call your name and you have that cup in your hands, everyone around you will be nonexistent until that last drop is swallowed. Enjoy!

Exactly what it is advertised to be. Portions are huge for about $ 4.25 per serving. Photo attached of standard size. Seem to be able to handle large crowds efficiently.

Best Shave ice! ono-good! Had the tropical flavors of Lilikoi, Guava and Melonia, in the smallest size they had. Still pretty large! Of note: their syrups are Cane Sugar, not High Fructose Corn Syrup.

We stopped by to cool down after a few toasty hours at Hanalei Bay. The woman taking orders was fast and efficient. It was fairly busy and our orders came out quickly. I had cherry, piña colada, and blue raspberry with macnut ice cream. The ice cream was delicious but the servings in the shaved ice were puny. Two of my children got ice cream cones and were in heaven with big scoops. I would recommend this spot to get a cold treat on a warm day! The milkshakes looked really good!!!

Omg the best shaved ice I ever had. Te ice is very fine and the staff is very friendly. Our shaved ice had just the right amount of syrup. Definitely a place to come back.

I find these to be fairly expensive for what they are however, I suppose there’s a time and place for everything. The difference between the small and large is inconsequential, mainly because of gigantic a ‘junior’(small) serving is. The mound of shaved ice is molded and smoothed out before syrup is added and it towers over the comparatively small bowl. To differentiate themselves JoJo’s offers ice cream on the bottom and your shaved ice and be topped with some sort of «cream like» syrup on top. They wouldn’t say exactly what citing they were afraid of copycats. For my tastes I’d actually forgo the ice cream and«cream» topping. It hit the spot but I found myself in need of friends to help finish a small serving. Come hungry and/or thirsty.
