Best $ 35 dollars i’ve spent for neoprene shoes, socks and poles for the hike to Hanakapiai falls. Great people and great service AND excellent equipment

My husband and I happened upon this place right before we headed up to the trail for an intense day of hiking. The sales associate sold us on some boot/sock rentals(walking sticks included). My husband and I are fit and active, but we still would have had an extremely different experience had we not rented this equipment. I can’t tell you how lucky I felt to have those water-proof boots on the slick, muddy trails. There were a ton of slippery rocks we had to walk over and I could step on them without a worry; the grip on the bottom of the boots was phenomenal. I didn’t think I’d need the walking sticks, but the last mile of the day, they were a tremendous help. My husband and I flew through that last leg of the hike because of those sticks! When on the trails we saw so many people struggling, ruining their own shoes, and stopping because they couldn’t maneuver through some challenging spots in their own personal footwear. We were asked where we got our boots about 30 times that day! Do yourselves a favor and rent this equipment. It’s well worth the cost and it will allow you to have such an enjoyable experience!

I am so glad I decided to go ahead and rent the water-proof hiking boots that came with socks and hiking sticks. I was hesitant to spend the $ 35, but I’m not so sure I would have been able to complete the hike to the waterfall and back without them! The trail was muddy & slick but the shoes had good traction. The sticks gave me the balance & security I needed. I am 50-something & thought I was in good shape, but… My husband wore his good running shoes & they are pretty much ruined!
