Giving this 3 stars. The food was mostly ok… would have loved a little more flavor. The drinks were great, though. Service was fantastic.

We made reservations at 5:30 on a Friday night. The restaurant is clean and nice with relaxing décor. Service was slow at first, but the drinks came quickly after we ordered. Didn’t take three sips before our dinners arrived, but they were absolutely delicious. Best seared ahi in a long time. Delicious lamb. Underwhelming, but fine meals for kids. Beautiful view.

What a wonderful experience. The service was great. He brought our cocktails tight out and explained all the specials. We ordered French onion soup, it was wonderful. I had the chicken Marsala and ahi tuna and it was incredible. The view from the table was of the beautiful water. It was Thursday night and they had a guitar player. Would recommend to all who travel to hanalei.

My husband and I chose this restaurant to hold a dinner following our wedding ceremony at a nearby beach. We primarily chose it for its location. We could not have been happier! Our guests arrived almost an hour before our reservation time, and the restaurant was very responsive in getting our tables set up and serving drinks and appetizers while they waited for us to finish with our photographer at the wedding location. We also had a cake delivered earlier in the evening, and the restaurant set up and decorated a small display table near our party. The live music was fantastic, and the performers even conspired with my brother ahead of our arrival to play a special song so my new husband and I could have our first dance. Our waitress was friendly and efficient beyond expectations, and was extremely helpful with the cake cutting, clean up, and packing up leftovers. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Kauai!

Great view, excellent service, good food. And if you are really lucky… some great entertainment next door(you had to be there).

This went from being our favorite restaurant here on the North Shore, to being the worst, in just a few years. They only had 3 crappy beers on tap. Waiter recommended the Margarita Flatbread Pizza, however I would not! It was bland and literally had 2 slivers of a basil leave to cover the whole pizza. Expected more from a $ 19. 10″ pizza. They did agree to reduce the price as I didn’t want to take the half remaining home. It was that bland! My husband’s chicken sandwich was an improvement, it didn’t knock our socks off though. Fries are better at Mc Donald’s. The final straw was they shorted us $ 5. In change. The whole thing was a disaster from start to end! Won’t be returning. Not sure what changed in the last 2 years, but whatever it was ruined that place!

Just OK. The service was good, and they have a good cocktail menu. The setting and interior was very nice, although the ocean is hidden a little behind a wall and slope. The prices were expensive for what you get. The hummus we had for a starter was nice, but nothing special. My husband had a chicken Marsala that just tasted like chicken and gravy. I had a steak with a mushroom sauce that was tastier, but not amazing. The steak was done to my liking. Strangely, both were served with bok choy, which is an unusual and kind of bland side dish. Dessert was also pleasant, but not amazing. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place, but it’s a decent option, given limited choices for nice dinners. Just expect to not really get your money’s worth for the prices.

Where do I start? No good beer on tap. Service that leaves you wondering whether Taco Bell is a better choice. Bringing our entrees after everyone who came after us showed up. Making my kid wait 45 mins for a horrible pepperoni pizza. Or the best yet. The young tart waitress who was completely unapologetic about the whole incident. Avoid this place at all costs. Drive 30 extra miles to Taco Bell or walk there over this place.

Wasn’t expecting much, but still disappointed. Ordered hummus, french onion soup, falafel wrap and gyro. Everything was super bland with not much seasoning… Okay fine but no salt or pepper on table to add any flavor was just infuriating after eating an hour for our food at a very slow late lunch time. Uugh! The hummus was the worst we’ve ever had — No garlic or tahini flavor — just real lemony and grainy. The gyro and falafel wraps left a ton to be desired — no flavor again. The sauce was some kind of creamy mayo again no flavor. The falafel itself did have an okay amount of seasoning, but the pita wrap was burnt. The only saving grace of this experience was the french onion soup, which is pretty darn difficult to mess up. Hence the one star. Service and wait times were horrible making for one aggravated family of 4. Never again! Overpriced and just a place to stop and get a Bar drink maybe?! Oh and the fruit juices weren’t fresh and very watered down. Just bleh.

It is justly OK. My and hubby ordered the gyro and falafel, and got the same looking dish with a pita bread, covered with chopped cucumber and carrot, with the same white sauce, and lots of McDonald style French fries. The service was good. Staff were warm. This the last restaurant to eat at the end of the road.

This is a gorgeous location. Stop in for a glass of wine or a drink. Then drive to another restaurant to eat dinner. We ordered two different preparations of the fish of the day. Both versions were dry and tough. My order was a special advertised on the chalk board at the entry as $ 19.95. The bill listed it as $ 34. The waitress explained I had ordered the fish special during dinner and the board price was for lunch. Since the board did not say lunch — She agreed to reduce the bill by $ 10. I wasn’t going to fight for the other $ 4. We ordered the mango cheesecake which was also underwhelming. We ate at 5 other restaurants in the North Shore Hanalei area and found all to be superior to this restaurant.

My wife and I were so excited to head out for dinner here after having driven by so many times. I read the reviews before going in and they were quite mixed, but we decided to try anyway. The service was fantastic and the view and seating were amazing. The entire staff was more than friendly but I was so sad that the poor food took so much away from their outstanding effort. Our meal was $ 130 for the evening which included a kids meal(which start at $ 10), an appetizer, two entrees and two cocktails. We have no problem paying a good amount for a good meal, but this was anything but. By no means are we food snobs but nothing we ordered met minimal expectation. Food was dry, over cooked and lacked taste(something we read over and over again in other reviews) We dined at 6:00pm on a Thursday night and the place was empty. We now know why. We are very understanding that a restaurant and its cook staff can have an off night or two but looking at other reviews, many other people have had a similar experience as ours. With great location and service this place has so much potential, but the food is nowhere in line with its price. I can’t image the doors will stay open long if the food trend continues. This is only my second post on Unilocal and I’m only posting with the hope of saving others from disappointment and save them some money as the Northshore has numerous, far less expensive dining options. If this was a $ 60 or $ 70 meal I’d say«oh well, you win some, you lose some» and move on but for $ 130 it’s just too much to be at this quality and to not say something.

Great views! My lamb and beef pita with a salad was awesome! The cappuccino with kaluia was amazing! The one thing that made it bad was the price? Lunch with a few drinks was $ 90.00? Because of that, we will NOT be back! Been here twice.

Absolutely love this place. We went last year and just getting around to the review. Great sashimi and very good paella. The drinks and bartenders are attentive and nice. The view is fantastic. The wine list is very impressive as well. We went back for the luau which was a buffet with great food(except for the poi but hey it’s poi) The entertainment was local culture, history, and beautiful dancing. The fire dancing was awesome! We will return!

Our first night on the island we decided to head here since I read their name across a local magazine being among the best dinning places. I was not disappointed! The chicken shesh tawook was flavorful, & I must say, the best part Was their customer service! I was impressed that despite having a packed restaurant with customers and a wedding reception event, the entire staff from the hostess, waitress, and Chef were amazing and attentive none the less! We have never met chef Imed before but as we were ready to order the bill, he surprises us with his delicious coconut baklava! It was such a treat and so very kind of him! Thank you!!!

The Med Gourmet is THE place for dinner. Imad the owner makes sure of quality as he circulates the room and the kitchen. I had chicken marsala and wow, it was memorable. A delicious marsala, deep rich flavor with fresh mushrooms over garlic potatoes. The chicken was tender and juicy. My friend had the paella and the plate was almost licked clean. Blanketed in clams, mussels, shrimp and fish, all of the freshest quality, rice cooked to perfection with a hint of saffron. Another favorite is the pesto flatbread, a portion for two, the warm flat bread was dressed with a lovely pesto sauce, feta, pine nuts and fresh organic baby greens. If you like fish, there is a fresh fish of the day, and if you like your meat, organic rib eye steak,(12 oz) was the special of the evening. Service attentive, fun delicious tropical drinks. How bout a lemon drop with fresh lemons picked that day. OH, dessert was a unbeatable lilikoi cheesecake… oh lordy… Tell em Auntie DeeDee sent you.

I didn’t bother reading any reviews before I stopped in with my wife. I’m glad that I didn’t because anything less than 4 stars is a drive by and on to the next. As it turns out, this place has better food than they have view and the view is pretty fantastic. We started out with the Greek salad and the Wagyu beef patty melt. The veggies in the salad tasted like they were just picked and the patty melt was amazing. Sometimes I feel like restaurants use the terms Wagyu and Kobe liberally, in this case I feel like I got the real thing. Everything was awesome with a great view.

The 3.5 stars seems pretty accurate — food is ok, not great, but not awful either. Since this is their«limited» kitchen while remodeling occurs, seems that all of the food is actually cooked on a panini press in the front of the restaurant. I would say that, as a caveat, the drinks are pretty great and not terribly overpriced! We’ve enjoyed speaking with the bartenders, and when I had a drink that was not to my liking, another was brought out without any issues.
