Fair priced Antiques, Amazing Food, and Recreation right out the back door. What more could you ask for? Buddy Lou’s is by far the best thing to happen to Hancock in a long time. Buddy Lou’s offers a downstairs filled with great antiques that change on a regular basis so your not always looking at the same stuff. The prices for the antiques are really good, and well below most I have seen. The food is fantastic. On our visit we had the chips and salsa to start(The first to try so we were told), and they were excellent. We also had the fish and chips. Really good size, and very very good. I love the outdoor seating on their large deck, and the overall awesome construction of the building. With the C&O rail trail directly behind the restaurant this makes a great place for those using the trail to stop, and have a great meal or a beer on the large deck. Overall a great place to stop if anywhere within 50 miles of this place!

We were lucky today as we were out driving on a beautiful Sunday and ended up in Hancock, Md and stopped in Buddylou’s for a late lunch. The food we picked was great, my wife thought it was the best hamburger she had for a long time, my Pork belly sandwich was terrific. Our waitress was great as it seemed all the staff were. We had just end missed the live music event and if the decide to have it again we will definitely return with friends. Did I mention that we felt like we were in a nice antique store with all the decorations around us. Great atmosphere. Will definitely return.

AMAZING! Just happened to stop in tonight for their Community Christmas buffet. Every dish was a treat. The seafood newb had generous amounts of quality seafood. The rich chicken ala king, pork roast with apple and caraway seeds, brussel sprouts flavored over the top with a creamy bacon sauce. Cornbread pudding, and acorn squash stuffed with a sweet balsamic glazed rice. We finished the meal with a warm apple crumble. I had to ask the server to please take my fork. This stop is a treasure and we will be sure to plan our travels so we can stop again. We’ve been there twice and we will be back

We are driving to TN and along the way we found this gem by the Potomac River. I saw the photo of roasted mussels and knew we had to stop there. I ordered the mussels, Greek salad and«She Crab» soup. The mussels were tender and well balanced in the spicy Thai coconut sauce. The Greek salad was fresh and delicious. The main event was the soup. Luscious chunks of crab were blended into a bisque of pure heaven. My husband ordered the chicken panini which came with homemade potatoe chips and a pickle. He kept dipping his sandwich in my soup lol If you are in the area definitely give this place a try!

Great food and service! Lovely! We had the soups(chowders), chicken wings, and fries and Cole slaw. Everything was fresh and delicious. Also, nice music playing. Will definitely come again when we’re back to this area.

Yet another place to add to Potomac River Grill(thank god this place is getting nice places to eat again). Pros: — Large portions — Homemade Food — Nice décor as well as outside seating if wanted — Owners are nice Cons: — Prices threw me off as they were a bit high but makes up for it for the amount of food recieved — Waitress we had wasn’t the best, checked on us once or so. But I think that was just that one as the others were running around Overall a place to visit if your coming through Hancock, MD.

On the recommendation of a friend, we decided to take a ride to Hancock and try Buddy Lou’s for lunch. It was well worth it. We entered the building on the lower level, which is the entrance to the antique store. Plenty of old-timey things to look at. Upstairs in the restaurant, we were seated at a converted, pedal sewing machine table for two. We ordered sweet teas and the She-Crab soup. The sweet tea was perfect; it was fresh, strongly brewed, and not overly sweet. That She-Crab soup was made with Sherry and had a delicate, buttery flavor, lightly seasoned with Old Bay, and served with oyster crackers. Get it to share, because it’s very rich and quite delicious. My husband enjoyed the Fish and Chips. It was a large, chunky piece of haddock, prepared with tempura batter; crispy and hot. It was served with a tasty apple jalapeño slaw — not spicy. I ordered The Rachael which is oven-roasted turkey breast topped with Swiss cheese, tangy sauerkraut and thousand Island dressing on grilled rye. I order Rachael’s wherever they are offered, and this was one of the best! The turkey was sliced, but not a «turkey loaf.» The sandwich was huge and served with thin-sliced, homemade potato chips. The chips had a very nice«burnt» flavor to them, which I love. If I were to make one suggestion, it would be to add a little extra Thousand Island dressing to the sandwich, but I’m sure I could’ve gotten more on the side if I had asked. We had to try their signature Sour Cream Coconut Cake. The cake is very dense, very moist, and has a light Almond flavor to it. I’ve never really had anything similar to it, but it’s good, so go ahead and try it. It ended up being a $ 40 lunch, but we have hefty leftovers, so no complaints. Buddy Lou’s is friendly, homey, uniquely decorated, and they have great food. We’ll be back.

We stopped here on the way home from Maryland back to Ohio. We showed up at 4, and were told that they were in-between lunch and dinner so they could not serve us until 4:30. I understand this happens, but most restaurants are prepared enough to serve appetizers/salad/soup in the meantime. We really needed a break so we decided to chill out with a drink and wait. We looked over the menu and had our order down. Once they could finally take our order, they were out of everything we wanted to try. We would have left at 4 if we knew that! Now we are starving and already wasted that much time. We found some other items to get. The fried chicken livers were pretty good. They could get away with serving half of the portion. Lobster roll, pretty good, it just needed a little seasoning and a bigger roll. The barbacoa tacos were good except for the barbacoa lol. It had no seasoning, and did not resemble mexican food at all. It tasted like meat from stew was thrown in my taco. Junk! The food was just okay, the service was below-average, and I wish we had just kept on the road and not wasted that hour and a half on this place.

Went to Buddy Lou’s as a good stopping point between Richmond and Pittsburgh. We had a wonderful lunch. We only went there on Unilocal reviews and weren’t disappointed by any means. Upon walking in the host was full of smiles. The waitress worked so hard, she took care of everyone in the restaurant. Really great décor! My husband got the fish and chips which was amazing. Fresh and battered to ordered. I got the Reuben which was piled high with corn beef. The best home made pickles I have had. Overall — the food was fresh and made in house. Good selection of 6 local beers. Redheaded step child was one of our favorites. Excited to be come back over the summer when the deck is open!

This place was super cute. Lots of fun antiques to check out while we waited for our food. I had the dragonfly mojito and the turkey Brie Apple sandwich with their homemade chips. My husband had the roast beef sandwich with horseradish and fries. Yum, yum and yum. It was all really good. Staff was very pleasant and quick. Our bill was around $ 40 great quality would highly recommend this place. We are already planning to come back soon.
