Average cup of coffee, bad lattes that are burnt and extremely foamy. Stayed at Hancock hotel because we had a wedding to attend at handsome hallow. Was hoping for a good cup of coffee but was only disappointed. If you’re a coffee nerd and appreciate a good roast, just skip it all together and get some tea.

Nice, quickly, made sandwiches, hot coffee(soy milk available) a clean restroom and places to sit, what else do you need. :) We were driving from Endicott New York back down to New York City. We usually stop at a little place in liberty for coffee but we’re looking to mix it up, I’m glad we stopped here. I don’t eat wheat, but the baked goods were really tempting. My husband got a bagel sandwich, they were accommodating to my allergy related requests, we both got coffee and we were in and out quick. Options for vegetarians available. Iced coffee drinks with soy available. We’d stop by again.

The food is great — good coffee, real bagels, fresh muffins and cookies. Good egg sandwich. Gourmet baked goods in an area that doesn’t have gourmet food, it’s an oasis. On a typical day, it’s probably a 5 star place. My experience was 3 star, though. I was there picking up my daughter from camp and because it was parent’s weekend, the Bakery was very busy, lots of out of town parents. The 3 folks behind the counter kept up ok, but their demeanor was really poor… they acted very put upon, like the swarm of parents coming into the store was somehow something terrible inflicted upon them, rather than a nice economic windfall for the place. Even heard them talking behind the counter about the fact that all these people were there for the camp, and they weren’t happy about it(a big customer turn off). I witnessed several attempts by customers to be nice and friendly, all to no avail, just stony silence or «uh huh.» I regret leaving a nice tip in the jar… such a great opportunity to be friendly, have fun with it, and enjoy the exposure and the big business day, and the staff didn’t rise to the occasion.

We stopped here in our way back from a camping trip. Such a unique spot– awesome bagels and great breakfast sandwiches. Also a great little antique shop to browse while you wait!

We have been coming to Hancock for many years. Finally gourmet has arrived. Must stop if you live in the area or passing through. I highly recommend. NYC resident

Perfect small-town spot for excellent coffee, sandwiches, and baked goods. Friendly, laid-back staff, and easy street parking. The bagels were«real» and loaded with lox. Nor far from the highway if, like us, you’re just passing through.

I’ve been enjoying lunch at The Bakery a couple of days a week this summer and into the Fall. They have all fresh ingredients, home made bread and soups, and interesting sandwiches, with an array of baked goods. Their 4-bean veggie chili is especially good, with enough spice to remind you that chile is supposed to be «hot». The Tree Hugger is overflowing with avocado slices, tomato, lettuce, cucumbers, cheese. The weekly special sandwich often has a unique sauce which lends itself to spicing up the Tree Hugger. The menu is varied enough for many tastes.
