The emailing diagnostics as a replacement for actual contact follow up is really a problem. You hear one thing in the office, then you get sent a little email with test results and a tiny blurb from the doctor or asst summing up some brief suggestion for treatment. Communicating with the doctor via email is always a losing situation… I feel like I am wasting their time. They dont ask any questions, but instead, dole out a quick answer designed to not have to deal with future emails. In my case, the recommendations I get given via email are not even applicable to my situation but the doctor doesnt recall this because they aren’t discussing it with me or looking at my chart, they are just responding to the data in front of them with a pat answer and trying not to generate future emails with me. That’s not working wtih a patient, that is getting let down by the system in place. Adventist really needs to spruce up their policies for how a doctor and staff use the clunky, poorly designed online system!
