Who is Gloria? Gloria is the name of one of Lisbon’s four funiculars. Gloria could be a feminist, such as Gloria Steinem or Gloria Allred. Gloria is the person in the song to which people did aerobics in the 80s while wearing leg warmers. Gloria is a Hispanic girl I grew up with who was then irritated that people sang that song to her when it was high on the charts. Gloria is also her mother’s name. Glorias can also be ladies who attend church and bake delicious things for the bake sales. But this Gloria is different because it’s Gloria’z with a «z.» This is a pub which literally has its back to Sunnyside Road, near its intersection with 132nd. For years, I had driven by this place, which looks like a red barn and which, possibly because of another boutique-y place next to or near it, I assumed was a place with gifts, food baskets, and potpourri. Heck no! It’s a sports bar. I might have never learned this except that some family friends who live near it go there and asked me to come along for my birthday. That was nice of them. Well, evidently people do know that Gloria’z is a sports bar with a decently sized parking lot and that it is accessed from that parking lot behind it. I was invited here to coincide with it being Taco Tuesday. What one immediately sees is that the prices for the tacos are laddered. It’s more if you opt for soft shell instead of hard shell, more if you opt for chicken instead of ground beef, and even more if you opt for fish, which I assume is cod. There’s no denying that the tacos are pretty decent. I just think that they’re slightly overpriced for their supposedly being on special on Tuesday AND Thursday nights. However, their meat loaf Wednesday special sounds good, as in «such a deal.» The tacos were good, the prices were a tad higher based on scanning the happy hour food menu, but the service was quick and friendly. One of the people in our group said, «It’s a place where everybody knows your name.» As for its Clackamas County flavor, the clientele is quintessential«Sunnyside Corridor» and, yes, the stereotypes would probably apply. If you want another Clackamas County flavor for a Taco Thursday, you can always go to(Pete’s) Lair in Milwaukie/Jennings Lodge, where the tacos are cheaper(3 hard shell for $ 2 and 2 soft shell for $ 2), you add the condiments yourself, but they only have the ground beef option. I guess that, at Gloria’z, you pay a little more for your tacos because, relatively speaking, the rent is higher and the level of drama is lower.

Love the bar, the servers and the booze. But the damn cook needs to learn how to cook a steak! Medium rare is NOT brown throughout the meat! The last two times we ate there the steak was way over cooked, I guess we’ll stick with the happy hour appetizers next time.

This place is no good, last time I went in the owners were drunk, never a good sign. Bar food kinda joint, and not even a good bar, basic atmosphere, staff is a joke, last time I ate there I got sick… it’s local but I recommend McCools or Mcmennimins right up the street. Better environment, food, drinks, maintenance, staffs a buch of losers, all around not a quality place for such a nice area. Gave it a few shots, but never had a decent experience.

3 stars is A-OK, that seems good for this place — I am not quite a fan yet. The décor is divey but clean. The cliental seems to run to the older set that likes to drink and play video poker — and smoke. The tap selection is limited. I was considering leaving but I asked the bartender what was good. I actually got a psychic flash that was going to say«Rueben» right before it came out of his mouth. Once he told me that the corned beef was done in house he had me. Plus points for the staff and kitchen. the sandwich was very good. I think I had slaw for the side, whatever it was it was decent. If I could just find out for sure if that corned beef on the sandwich was the same stuff in the hash on the weekends I would be back for breakfast. Kids are welcome at breakfast on the patio. If you are in the area stop in and give it a try.

Pricey, red wine served at room temp but that is kitchen room temp way to warm. Portions on the small side, burgers are the ¼# bagged — nothing special.

My husband and I had a late lunch there on Sunday, May 312015. The atmosphere was a cool bar and we’d heard good things. My husband ordered fish and chips, I ordered a chili burger. I wanted a diet coke or Pepsi, but all the had was RC cola, yuck. The waitress was pleasant and friendly. My husband’s fish and chips tasted good, but he only got two small pieces and some fries and a small bit of coleslaw. My chili burger looked good, but it clearly was canned Nalley’s chili, which I had to stop eating over a year ago because it gave me terrible stomach problems. But I ate it anyway, and when I got home, I thought I was gonna die. That’s really not their fault, but I was disappointed that they used canned Nalley’s chili. I could have made that at home. My husband had one beer, I had iced tea. Our bill was over priced at over $ 27! We will not be going back. Way over priced for what little food you get, and serving canned chili. Not cool.

I love this place. Close to home, great attentive staff and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The food is good, not great, but good. The drinks are great. The prices are fair and they play lots of live spots on their tv sceens. They have outdoor seating, shuffle board and a family area in the back if you go during the day with kids. They let people smoke on the back deck and I’m a non smoker, so that is the only part I don’t like.

Very disappointed with my self that I’ve driven by here so many times and didn’t stop! It’s a great little local bar with surprising touches that go above and beyond. Example: got a app, corndogs, they came with chips. I figured some packaged chips would be smacked on the side. Nope. Someone took the time to slice real potatoes and make homemade chips that were served hot along with a housemade dip for the corndogs! The wings were awesome. And the bar area was small enough the server could see everything easily and was able to keep everyone’s glasses in the bar full. Needless to say I’m beyond impressed, disappointed I didn’t come sooner and thoroughly excited my friend and I just found out«cheers» to come to each week!

The food choices are limited to standard bar food and it is mediocre at best. Not a lot of parking available if other nearby businesses are open. If you eat outside, you will likely have to put up with cigarette smoke.

They have a lot of options and are good for takeout, but it’s basically Costco/microwave type food. Nice servers — average food.

Up until recently, we have never stopped in this place… why? It just looked like a dumpy place and never thought much about it. I am glad we finally stopped in! The bar is comfortable and they have great service. The menu is big and the food is good. It is worth stopping in for a bite!

Even though I have lived near Gloria’z for years I had never tried it. We were heading to newberg with a large group to go wine tasting and decided to stop in for breakfast. We were all very pleased! The staff was quick and very nice, the portions were huge and for a very reasonable price. We have since been back for breakfast and tried taco night. All 3 times were pleasant and we will be going back again! Definitely recommend them for breakfast, the breakfast quesadilla is amazing!

Driven by this place many times, finally stopped in on game night. The bartender really knows what he’s doing and enjoys his job too. Ordered the fish and chips, turns out it’s halibut and not cod so I will definitely do that again. Both servers were very pleasant and I don’t remember having to wait for anything or having to ask for anything either.(on a sat night thats unheard of) Thank you for that. I almost forgot! My husband ordered the Rueben and recommends it.

This place is the worst. My husband and I tried it about a year ago and we both ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were hungry jack refrigerator type biscuits, which btw get really slimy under gravy. Decided to give it another chance for breakfast today. I had the bacon, mushroom, cheddar omelet with hash browns and an english muffin. They used canned mushrooms! That is not ok!!! The hash browns were undercooked and just white in color and unseasoned… I thought that at least the english muffin would be good… but I was wrong. It was so saturated in… «butter» like liquid I could have wrung it out. 12 hours later and my stomach is still turning. We will never be back. ever.

Had the Spaghetti Special this last Monday. The bar seems to cater to a bit of an older crowd and isn’t too bad. The spaghetti was pretty decent, although I am not a fan of mushrooms and there was quite the abundance. Other than that, I can say they are pretty decent.

Great place out in Happy Valley to grab a burger and a beer for lunch! I’m sure it’s a good place to catch a game if your HV local. Love the service, but you wouldn’t catch me driving down from Portland to eat/drink there. I’m not big into sports oriented bars and pubs, but this place is nice and cozy. Has a great neighborhood vibe to it. It’s in a cool little shopping center of repurposed old buildings, which is pretty much non-existent in Happy Valley. Big plus for that.

I’ve drove past this place multiple times and finally stopped in for some drinks on one of their taco Tuesdays. I was pleasantly surprised by how cozy and cute this bar is. I decided to give their tacos a try. I really liked how plain they are. I don’t know how to explain it other than they reminded me of tacos you would eat at someone’s house. My girlfriend had the dinner salad and had no complaints. I enjoyed a PBR and she enjoyed a spicy bloody mary. We definitely want to go back but hopefully this time there won’t be a massive amount of smoke coming out of the kitchen.

Don’t expect chain restaurant food and service, Gloria is simply a modest neighborhood pub. Support for local business! Happy hour is decent with $ 3.5(? can’t remember the exact price) beers on tap, FRIEDMAC ‘N CHEESE, onion rings, etc. Taco Tues & Thurs are the days they have $ 1 beef taco(other tacos start at $ 1.5) served with chips and salsa. It’s a snack portion but is perfect with a drink. Everything is always made fresh as far as I can tell.
