I have Never Ever seen such an egregious display of incompetence in my entire life. Where to begin. I should start by telling you that I am in nursing school at Linfield University on a BSN track. I served 8 Years in the United States Marine Corps and was Honorably Discharged. I deployed 4 times to war and I’m the one saying such an EGREGIOUSDISPLAYOFINCOMPETENCE. If you are looking for a place to send the person you are caring for to a place to die this is the right place for you. If your loved one is has behavior problems in their disease do not send them here. I watched 4 caregivers put a fully clothed woman in the shower because and I quote, «It’s the only way she will get in the shower and she’s Violent with us.» Lemme ask you something, if you were in anyplace where they take you from a chair forcefully, fully clothed and shoved you in a shower would you not be violent? If that were me there would be a Gun Fight after that… Cross contamination is ridiculous! The staff struggles with the basic techniques of sanitation. Simple things like hand washing and removing your gloves after you get done helping with peri care are lost on the staff. I brought all of these concerns to the Director of the facility and submitted my resignation. Incase you were wondering Amy is her name. Medication aids are administering dijoxin and warfarin with out getting vital signs first. Because they have not been trained how to take a blood pressure or an apical pulse. I documented all of these actions and called the State Board of Nursing about what I observed. I STRONGLYADVISEANYONE who has a loved one who is suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s to look elsewhere. Unless you got stuck taking care of someone and you have no emotional attachment and are looking for a place to throw them and forget about them.

I would highly recommend Monterey Court for the placement of a family member in need of care. I had the ultimate decision as to how to help my parents, Dad was on dialysis and in very poor health and Mom was having issues with her memory and judgement. I couldnt leave either on alone. Moms doctor suggested putting her in a memory care facility. After visiting Monterey Court I made the decision to place Mom there. 2 ½ years later when my mom passed away the nurse would not leave her room until she passed over. The activities director at the time Heath, got his guitar and sang for her amazing grace. This is a top notch facility and the staff are absolutely phenomenal. The director Amy is extremely caring and loving and works well with the family. Again this is a number 1 A+ + + + + + facility and very secure for your loved one.
