Went here around lunch hour today, it seemed to be pretty packed. There were only small little tables that were close together to sit. We asked to sit at a booth, but we couldn’t since they didn’t clean it yet. Okay then. We sit down and then our server greets us and hands us the menu. Not really being explained what to do with this messy looking menu and weird marker. My friend had been here before and was able to tell me how to order. After ordering, we noticed all the guests started complaining that they have been waiting a long time to receive their food, another table Recieved food before a table that ordered first, ok so I’m thinking and preparing to wait a long amount of time. After about 35 minutes waiting for my sushi, we Recieved a pretty nice plate. It tasted really good! So fresh. It’s super good, but the wait sucks!

If I could give this place a big fat zero I totally wpuld. Today we had a birthday dinner for my niece. There was 14 people in attendance. We pre-ordered our meals however some of the guests needed to order when they arrived. We were in the back room next to the bar and we were the only people our waiter was waiting on. From the beginning I could tell that our waiter Benjamin was very overwhelmed. He was very short when we asked about our food, drinks and even utensils and just plain rude. I understand that the tip is included for a party of 8 or more which is fine but with the horrible service we received and the funky attitude we he gave us all night long our waiter deserved absolutely nothing. Food is good, drinks are great however service is so terrible I don’t know why people go there. Management really needs to look into hiring better people that knows what customer service is all about. I don’t believe the customer is always right but I do believe that the way you treat people is reflected on you and your establishment. My family and I will not be returning to this restaurant. Please remember word of mouth is a powerful tool.

This restaurant is stunning on the inside, lots of lovely wood work, however that does not excuse poor customer service. Firstly, this place is expensive for what little they give and do. Second, the waiter seemed to not want to bring us hot tea for some reason. Third, it took forever to get our food and they weren’t even busy, 5 tables at most and 3 waiters. WTF! Can’t say you will have the same experience but I’ll not go back when there are plenty of other more affordable, faster, and customer service oriented restaurants out there.

I might like this location better than Bridgeport Village. My favorite roll is the Godzilla roll… it is crack. Our service was great and the food was amazing!

*** I ordered my food through Caviar, a courier service*** So my review will be off the food I received not the service of the staff. I got a Deluxe sushi set which consisted of salmon, tuna, seared albacore, albacore, yellow tail, super white tuna and red snapper and shrimp nigiri. This also came with two sides, a small salad and miso soup. The fish was super fresh and the slices on the nigiri was quite nice. Not too thin. This also came with a tuna roll, it was probably my least favorite just because the seaweed wrapper was a bit overwhelming compared to the fish. But everything else was great! Definitely recommend. And definitely recommend getting food with Caviar for a wider selection of restaurants with the convenience of delivery.

I have been here a total of 5 times. The only thing consistent was horrible service, wait times, and food! I have never been served anything that was remotely tasty here. It is a sub par place to eat with the service to show. The last time I ate here was the last straw. My wife and I ate here, horrible service, etc… we left a small cash tip of only 10 percent and the waitress followed us out and threw the money at my 7 month pregnant wife. Do not recommend this place at all. You could go across the street to sushi land and get better food and service for more than half the price of this horrible establishment!

For being a fancy and sort of expensive restaurant I kind of expected more from my experience. The customer service was alright… when we were going to be seated the hostess didn’t really make it clear if we were supposed to follow her so or big group of 7 followed her to the table and she looked at us awkwardly and started to tell us «oh I didn’t ask you…» Then she said«you can sit now I guess» it was just weird and unfriendly. The waitress was nice but she often forgot who ordered what and seemed a bit frazzled. Even when my cousin was the only person who ordered dessert she asked who ordered it upon bringing it out. The food was fresh and consisted of quality fish but I feel as though it was a decent experience overall rather than an excellent one.

I’ve been to Sinju a handful of times because of their convenient location and large, diverse menu. Our experiences have varied from great to mediocre. Usually when we visit, we have fairly decent service and edible food. That wasn’t quite the case this time. I’ve never felt inspired to write a review of this establishment until this last experience. To make a long story short, we found plastic in our salad, the chicken teriyaki was inedible and the service was painfully slow on a slow evening. Our server was very kind in removing the salad that contained plastic but didn’t apologize for it, she just stated how«stunned» she was and how confused she was that it was there. Mmmmmmkkkkkayyyy. She was nice about it, don’t get me wrong but there were no apologies which I find unacceptable. No big deal. We are not diva dinners so whatever. The teriyaki came and it had an odd smell to it. I told my friend that it smelled and tasted like there was a hint of cinnamon which really doesn’t below in teriyaki. I’m not sure if this is Sinju’s version of teriyaki but it was terrible. We’ve had their teriyaki in the past and have enjoyed it so I don’t believe this was normal. After the plastic and bad yaki, all we wanted to do was leave but it took foooorever to get out check. We waited and saw our server working/prepping other tables. I suppose if we were enjoying our meal and savoring the flavor a, leaving is some time alone would be appropriate but again this was not the case. We won’t return to this Sinju. There are too many really good sushi/Japanese restaurants within a stones throw that provide great food and service.

My friends and I were fairly impressed with the both the quality and quantity of food here during lunch. Two kids of sushi were great and two were ok. We got a combo with a steak and tempura which were both deliscious. The salad was also quite good for just $ 33 total! Not a bad deal all in all.

I really am shocked. We sat at the bar since it was mostly empty. The bartender completely ignored us the whole evening. When we got our sushi, it was dropped there. Wasn’t even asked if we wanted soy sauce. 20 minutes later, still did not receive the drink special we ordered. Sitting at the bar the order ticket was right in front of us. I asked the waiter and the bartender then piped up that they were out of the main ingredient. Major fail. The food was ok. Not great and definitely the overall experience we won’t be back.

This place is underrated! Walked in and the place is gorgeous on the inside. Décor is beautiful. Wooden walls, nice lighting, swords on the walls! Very nice ambience and fancier than expected, but not expensive. The service was AMAZING. Very professional and attentive and fast. The rolls were very very good. Try the Western. I was pleasantly surprised!

Pretty spendy for what you get. I spent $ 45 on 3 rolls & an order of teriyaki chicken. I also was a little unimpressed with the service when I came to pick up my called in order — no one was at the front & when I wandered back towards the kitchen they were pretty clueless. I asked for no ginger or wasabi aaaaand lo & behold a nasty pile of wasabi was touching my sushi when I opened it. The sushi was only alright. Definitely NOT worth the price I paid whatsoever. A $ 9 Vegas roll Better be the best damn Vegas roll ever, and this one was pretty far down on my scale.

What is UP with this place?! Overpriced sushi, mediocre service, and some pretty untrained staff. Went with the boy today before a movie. The hostess looked like she hated her job and the busboy needed some lessons in appropriate customer service(came off quite rude and short with me when I asked a question about the menu) — I don’t think these two have had ANY proper training in how to interact with patrons. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating, however, in spite of having to send back the very dry and overcooked char siu pork in my miso ramen TWICE. Definitely microwaved quality. I’ve worked many years in food and customer service and I was just appalled at how bad it was. I try not to rock the boat when it comes to things like this since I know it’s a pain in the ass to deal with patrons all day but c’mon — the restaurant was pretty much empty. The least you could do was give a little more effort to the little customers you had in there! EFFORTPEOPLE, EFFORT! Will not be coming back. Sorry, guys. :(

This review is only for their food, not their service. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was mediocre. The sushi was sloppy and falling apart, their bento box tonkatsu and chicken teriyaki were both super dry. Teriyaki sauce was not the best I’ve ever had and their«miso» salmon had absolutely no miso flavor to it at all. Their drinks were way overpriced and tasted like there was no alcohol at all. For $ 9, I think I should be able to taste the rum in it… They also changed their happy hour time, which is a shame because I would only come here for happy hour when their lower prices better reflect the quality of food and drinks.

This place is probably the worst RESTRUANT i have ever been to, i have been here since they first opened and have been coming back, slowly the food has been tasting alot more terrible. My last visit here was probably the worst-ordered $ 70 worth of sushi and sashimi. well i thought it would be sashimi, when i got the plate it was seared Hamachi I asked the waiter what was that he stated the chef made you that it went better then the sashimi. well first off i thought when u go to a restaurant u order what u want not have it switched and be told it worked better. The chef got upset tgat we mentioned the seared dish was not sashimi and personally added a chef gratuity himself. Really?! This place is arrogant, the sushi sucks and the chef’s attitude.

First I need to say to all the«happy hour» complainers, Happy Hour means you eat in the bar area. Since when is this a new concept that it’s open to the entire restaurant? Knocking stars for that is ridiculous. Ok, so my friend brought me here since she had been a few times and really enjoyed her experience. We decided to sit on the bar side, it’s cozy and warm. The décor is cool looking lots of red and dark wood interior. We were brought huge menus and water instantly and we started pouring over the many options available. The cocktail menu was extensive and they have locally made sake choices. We had the nigori pearl. My friend hadn’t had this style saki before and really liked it, it’s creamy and has a floral note to it. Perfect for the beginner sake drinker, as she is. Settling on the firecracker roll was hard. There are so many good roll combos and we wish we had a party of six with us to sample one of each of our top choices. This roll has spicy tuna, avocado, salmon and more tuna on top and some crunch flakes and sweet chili sauce. Yum! I already have the next roll picked out I want to try when I go back again. We only ordered one roll since it was pretty late at night and needed more of a snack than a full dinner. The pricing was fine for the size of the roll. We had 8 pieces and it was stacked nicely. Great value and the sake wasn’t overpirced as I’ve had in some other sushi houses.

Shopping at Clackamas mall+cold weather+hungry tummies= A delicious experience at Sinju. We went at happy hour, to sadly find out that you can only be happy if you’re 21+. The Happy Hour menu isn’t even an option otherwise. After finding that out, we ordered from the main menu. An Ahi Tower, a Spicy Tuna roll, and a Hot Pot with BBQ Chicken(bibimbap). I really really enjoyed the Hot Pot Chicken bowl. I’ve been here twice, and got it both times. It had rice underneath, 3+different kinds of seaweed, and more! The first time it didn’t have any wet ingredients, and no initial flavors, but add a little soy sauce, or maybe ask for some sriracha, and you’re golden. The second time I came, they provided a bbq/sriracha sauce thing that was pretty good when mixed in, but nothing that popped. The Ahi Tower was beautiful, and tasted phenomenal! Great sauce and tuna. I didn’t get the try the spicy tuna roll, but supposedly it was great! My hot pot also came with a cup of Miso and a small salad. A LOT of food, and it was all great! Take advantage of the Happy hour &lunch menu if you can, cause some things can get a bit pricy. On the other hand, the service was not good, at all. Both times we went, who knew we even had a waiter. The first time, we were seated, and it was a job to try and find him to take our order. Same thing happened the second time(but even worse). We watched our waitress walk around and around, but didn’t come take our order until we waved her down after about 10 minutes. We ran out of water and never got refills, someone else brought our food out, and the check took forever, once again.
