Got take out. Very gross. Avocado was slimy, sushi wasn’t cold it was warm and gross. Rather make the 20 min drive out to sushi valley instead.

Life Before Mio Sushi: Before Mio, I didn’t know that«greasy spoon Japanese diner» was a thing. I didn’t know that grilled salmon could achieve such a unique grey color, as it sat in a tepid pool of its own grease, smelling fishy as all get-out. I didn’t know that one could use regular steamed rice in a sushi roll as a substitute for the unmistakable sweet-sour goodness that is sushi rice. I didn’t know that if one chooses to come in toward the end of the lunch service, he or she is subject to dirty looks from the chefs, marginal hospitality, and poor quality food. I didn’t know that between lunch and dinner, yet still while we were eating, the chef could lie down on a customer bench-seat, remove his shoes and socks and proceed to take a nap, his bare feet hovering daintily above a clean table already set for the dinner service. Yet now, mine eyes hath been opened unto a world I had not thought possible. It is truly a revelation!

Still have not experienced moan worthy sushi in Portland yet, however this place is pretty delicioso. I have been here twice now and have enjoyed both of my experiences. Waitress was attentive and I never had to ask for water or refills. The sushi was filling and delicious. The tempura is phenomenal. I will be back to try more of their concoctions in the future. They are on the pricy side of the spectrum but by no means crappy like Marineopolis Sushiland where crappy sushi and bad service are a staple just down the street. I will say though, now that I think about it, I thought that their teriyaki & yakisoba were sub par at best.

Friendly staff, clean establishment, the food is always tasty! Prices may be a little high but I’ve definitely seen higher and at least I feel like the quality of the fish is great! We eat here around once every couple weeks. Very satisfying.

Quite good. Wasn’t sure what to expect from a «chain» restaurant. I have had lunch here several times during the work week and the food is always good, always consistent, and lots to choose from for lunch. Friendly staff.

Price is reasonable and the sushi is good for the price. I have eaten at other locations but I let my wife decide on how many stars to give them. She is Japanese so she knows sushi. I had the tempura and it was OK. It tasted a little different than what I am used to. Not sure if it’s just their recipe or the batter was a little stale.

Bad service and they dont even know how to make nabayaki udon. Nigiri sushi was ok(cheap fish quality), sushi roll was bad. I ordered uni but it was not fresh(at least 4days old).

The food was great! Nice and clean inside. Giving only 3 stars because it took way too long to get our food.

Food: I was very impressed with the sushi and the creativity in the rolls. I also enjoyed the different flavors in every roll I ordered. Their edamames were perfect and fish tasted amazing. Service: Price: no problem with the service at all, it was a bit slow to begin but it picked up and the waitress was very nice and prompt in her services. Price: the price was average to the amount of food you got and the taste.

Wow! Worst customer service ever! ! Walked in… they said sit wherever you like… except all empty tables dirty. We sit anyway… sat for 15 minutes no one even approached us to clean the table… no one brought us water or menu. So we thought maybe they forgot about us? Two empty chairs at sushi bar… we will sit there… then they will come… NOT! More people came in… three different parties of people the girls rushed over… wiped the tables down and delivered menus… we still have not even received a menu. No one even acknowledged our existence! I’ve been to many Mio Sushi restaurants and have Never experienced this type of treatment. I don’t recommend anyone going to this particular establishment. Terrible… terrible customer service. Very disappointed. . I wouldn’t give a star rating at all but you have to on this site :-(

I’ve never seen a sushi restaurant with this much variety and options. The menu could drive you crazy with choices. There house saki is also very good. Only negative things: salmon roll was very small, and they do not have happy hour prices on Friday.

Delicious sushi! Very creative and fun rolls to choose from. Great atmosphere, good service, & I really do want to go back someday. I only gave it 4 stars because I felt the portions could have been a little bit bigger for the price. Other than that, great place! Good for families or an intimate date.

For sushi the prices are good. All the rolls I ordered were good and flavorful. Large menu makes the decisions harder but better than places who focus on just five rolls. Size of the rolls were normal size nothing huge. Double crunch is very good. Spider roll good as well. St Helens roll was okay the tuna had been sitting so you could taste the oily fish taste. Kids meal was good size lots of food. Happy hour should include more rolls in my opinion and some nagari. Having such a huge variety it couldn’t hurt. Over all was good for five people $ 70. Any other place probably $ 100 easily.

I hope their sushi is better than their entrees. Came here for lunch and ordered the salmon teriyaki bento with tofu and veggies. It’s was basically slop. Overly sweet sauces — the teriyaki, the dipping sauce, and salad dressing. The so-called tofu veggie dish was just awful. The tofu was like eating a greasy tasteless sponge and the vegetables were FROZEN — you know, the type you get with a TV dinner — CORNANDPEAS! The salmon tasted frozen and was over cooked. The side gyoza accompaniment tasted freezer burned as well. I get tired of establishments in Portland charading around as authentic Japanese restaurants. It just insults my taste buds. I am at a loss how Mio Sushi has been in business as long as they have by serving atrocious FROZEN food. Two stars because of the pleasant and efficient server.

Wow! I’m VERY impressed! Stopped in for an unplanned lunch with my two eldest sons whilst waiting for our bundtinis to be prepared from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Mio is now our go-to sushi place due to its quality, variety, excellent prices, and convenient location. It is a close second to Yama in quality, but has considerably lower prices. Here’s the lowdown: 1. Atmosphere and ambiance — both excellent. Very roomy, very clean, and just the right lighting. HUGE bonus points for the extra-jumbo bound and laminated menus that you can write directly on to order your rolls. By far the best and easiest way to order sushi I’ve ever seen. ALL sushi restaurants should do this. 2. Parking — Plenty of it because it is in a strip mall. 3. Service — Outstanding! Very attentive and very engaging server. It was really nice that she asked all three of us what our favorites were. It was also very nice to get a personal«Thank you» at the end of our meal by two people who I presume to be the owners. 4. Quality — Seriously outstanding in every way. Everything was superbly fresh, and unbelievably complex and flavorful. The tempura was impossibly light and crisp and not even remotely oily or greasy. Bonus points for some of the most potent wasabi I’ve ever had. They have a huge selection of LOTS of different rolls, bento, full entrees, appetizers, and desserts. We only tried 5 rolls, and we can’t wait to come back for dinner. 5. «Compatibility» — Celiac disease? Not a problem here. I was floored when I saw their sign stating that they use gluten-free soy sauce in all of their specialty sauces. If you’ve never had gluten-free soy sauce, you’ll never know it. It is indistinguishable from regular soy sauce at the worst, but usually has more depth of flavor in most cases. 6. Bonus factor: Decent chopsticks — No «tear apart» disposable sticks here. They provide nice heavy plastic ones. I cannot recommend Mio highly enough. Go there, and you won’t be disappointed.

I came in last night and Unfortunately I didnt get to take a picture of my delicious food before I demolished it!!! It wasnt busy as I came in on there last hr 9pmish. They close @ 10. Everyone was so helpful and nice. I ordered the… I think it was the sashimi combo with miso. Miso was great! All there fish was nice and fresh. Loved there snapper! I decided last minute I wanted to try their creamy scallops with a little spice. It was actually really dam good! I also had there ikura w/quail egg. Wow I left so full. I have no complaints of there pricing. Its not to cheap but not to expensive. Its what I expected. Thanks to Sam, «The letter J» J because his name is so long and Jin like the alcohol for making my experience here awesome! Ill be coming back def. Hopefully sooner than later.

Mio is by far our go-to Sushi place. They sometimes have slightly stale rice, but overall they are the best. Our top favorites Mt Rainier and Mt St Helen.

Classic Japanese comfort food. Made my heart warm. Tempura, ramen, udon and tea. Wow! Loved it. The tempura was crispy and cooked just right. The ramen was brought out at the right temperature and cooked just right, possibly too many veggies. The udon had the right taste. The tea was a nice.

We walked in at 2:15pm, they close at 2:30pm. The server was pleasant and welcomed us in. He explained that the kitchen closed at 2:30 but we could stay as long as we wanted. Throw up a star right there! I was apologetic for coming in so late not realizing they close after lunch but our server was awesome and didn’t make us feel like an inconvenience even once. Some of the things that we ordered: mio roll volcano roll-Possibly my fav out of all that we ordered. tempura coco roll — sweet, almost like a sushi dessert. That’s sounds so wrong but tastes so right. I usually go to Sushi & Maki down the road but this place was so fresh and delicious that I will definitely be back, again. Extra stars for our incredible server that knew exactly how to create a great dining experience!
