The Home Depot

I was not excited to have to make a visit to a hardware store, let alone a huge, overwhelming one! However, the experience was easy and fast. Several employees offered me assistance (without me having to hunt someone down, gasp!), took me to the appropriate section, and discussed ideas with me. Thanks, guys!

Second bad experience. Again with the young associates. They lack professional customer service skills. Do not greet customers. Are not prompt in assisting them but rather carry on with non work related conversations in the presence of customers.

Just your standard Home depot but today I got exceptional service from Brian D. He helped me fig out options on how to build my shelf I envisioned… didn’t have to be pretty but sturdy. I learned the array of brackets avail all the way down to what screws to use for my specific wall. I already had random screws in my tool kit but followed Brian’s lead and purchased the appropriate ones for my project. If it wasn’t for him… I would probably still be roaming the aisles of Home D (I’ve gotten stuck there for 2 hours before, yikes). Thanks Brian for the great customer service!

This Home Depot has self service kiosks where you can check yourself out without talking to the attendant. That includes using your own credit card without checking your ID.
However whenever I check out at a regular cashier here they consistently ask me for ID. Today I even took the time to enter my email address. And they asked for my ID even though she didn’t for the customer behind me (my card was signed of courae).
This is the only Home Depot in town that does this.
I won’t be back. I smell racism…

Walked in here looking for something. Asked one associate after walking around for a while, she directed me to a wrong isle. Walked around a little more and found another associate who looked it up online, and told me they have it in the store and directed me to a completely different isle on the other side of he store. Walked around some more and it wasn’t there. After more walking, I eventually gave up and left.
If there is no other place to go sure come here, otherwise if u need something specific, I recommend lowes.

I have to say I am now a Lowes customer and will never ever shop at Home Depot again. First and foremost being a veteran without this country served with honorable and they say did they give discount to veterans would they fail to say is they give discounts just certain items for veterans so I buy over 154 dollars and they only gave me discounts on certain items. They need to reevaluate their strategy «are we in support of veterans for all items or just these» and they need to post it. Anyhow from the disrespect of their cashier to the portion discount I will no longer support this cooperation.

I went back last night to Home Depot after the paint Store I have been going (I stopped coming to Home Depot for paint due to rudeness) was closed after 6pm. The guy behind the paint counter was very professional, super friendly and very helpful. He actually asked if we (there were several customers at the paint color area) needed any help. Great jo, Home Depot!

Katy in the paint department is the only reason I come to this location. She is a paint-​mixing master and deserves all the praise in the world for her amazing customer service skills. I can come to here with any paint problem or crazy idea and she always is enthusiastic to help me out and never gets annoyed. Home Depot as a store is 3 stars, but the paint department here is 5! Crazy, right?

They always are a bit expensive, but they have everything. Often they are the only place that have what you are looking for for your home improvement needs, other than looking online. Their online website will often shipping anything you need for free. They also make it easy to return goods.

Standard issue Home Depot. Service is decent and usually pretty friendly, pretty easy to find, access from streets is easy and wide, high traffic area though… Nice neighborhood.

The store tens to be clean and has things arranged in a way that makes it pretty easy to navigate. They could use more isle help and keep more items in stock. We buy a lot of smaller items like respirators, blades, drill bits and sometimes we need larger quantities and have to go to 3 or 4 stores. I do like the convenience of their store and their selection. Price is fair, but not low.

Bought a new LG washer and dryer. Upon delivery washer was damaged so we refused delivery. We were to find out that we had to go to LG to get the replacement not Home Depot. Not only do they not take responsibility for third party deliveries but not for the product we purchased from them and not LG.
LG informed us it will be at least another week till they can let us know when we will get a new washer so it’s off to the laundromat. It is the worst customer service I have ever experienced as they have made it our responsibility to contact LG for a damaged washer that we purchased from Home Depot. All I have to say is my new home improvement store will be lowes.

As I was waiting in appliances for help, the cashier noticed me and said he would call someone to help me. He was very kind but the girl who came to help was absolutely not. I showed her what I wanted and quoted the price at Lowes and told her when I called I was told they would price match and asked if they would honor the 5% Lowe’s offers if you use their charge card. She told me she would have to ask a manager and than stood there staring at me until I asked if she would please ask. She verified everything to Lowe’s website than called for a manager. As he finally approached, they whispered a ways away and than he walked off and than she came over and rudely said no. What is the point of calling a manager to help a customer if the manager doesn’t even approach. I’m not upset that they wouldn’t match the 5% but rather that they did not make me feel valued as a customer by speaking to me and made me feel like my business didn’t matter. I know $ 2000.00 may not be much to them but the value of a customer should be priceless.

I bought a ryobi power drill which had a defect. I brought it back to the store for an exchange. They didn’t have the replacement in stock so they gave me a full refund, completely hassle free. Excellent customer service.

Well my special order door that was supposed to take 7 – 10 days has taken will be here in 29 days… too bad it’s too late to have my contractor/​dad install it while he’s here for xmas… i wouldn’t trust their timelines… i basically just got screwed… now i have to pay someone to install it… thanks home depot. You just doubled my project cost… awesome.

The prices are great, but the personnel they have on the floor isn’t that great. I had a plumbing project and the few people that help gave me wrong instructions.
After beating my head in for 2 days I headed over to George Mooreland plumbing. Was able to fix my issue in 4 hours!

Went for some Painting supplies, was not disappointed. There is a large supply of painting gear as well as lots of other equipment. I recommend this store. Customer Service was not a problem.

My god, this place is gargantuan — a feature I love when I’m not injured. As it is, I’m hobbling around on a knee-​scooter right now, so the distance from this widget to that flower pot is, like, a mile or something. Ah, but you already know how huge the store is. So let me talk a little bit about customer service.
Sometimes the store seems understaffed, but it’s not that there aren’t customer service reps present… it’s just that they are all already with other customers. Other times I go in there and there are fewer customers. When the latter situation is the case, I have always had an Orange Vest Person ask me if I needed help, so I make a point of going during times when I believe the store will be less busy. The truth is, I have always had very good experiences with the service personnel. Let me tell ya about what happened yesterday and today.
I went in to get security doors for my home. My salesperson, Robert, was already occupied when I plopped myself down at his table, and he had an array of note pads and papers scattered around on the desk in front of him. He was busy. He made time for me. We went down the corridor to where the doors are, and realized we would have to do a special order. Turns out that once online we discovered that my doors were on sale! But the sale ended TODAY, and I had to make a decision about installation, and make sure of my measurements quickly.
I decided the price of their installation was too much money, and found myself a handy man on Angie’s list. But when I called back to place the order, I was unclear about where to take the measurements from. Robert was gone by now and I was talking to the manager, Lori. I was having a hard time describing the appearance of my door frame. I was worried about getting the measurements wrong because there is a $ 30 restocking fee for each special order door that didn’t fit. :(WEEEELLLLL, Lori said, «Look, we don’t usually do this, but because you live so close why don’t we just ask Robert to come to your house tomorrow to check your measurements?»
I couldn’t believe it! And Robert did come, confirmed that I’d measured from the right places, and we confirmed the order.
That was today.
About a month ago I went in for a little fastener-​widget-​thingie to make a frame with. The sales person took me to a box of fastener widgets that were not quite right, so I went on my way to poke around in the boards. After 5 minutes later the sales person approached me to let me know she’d had an idea, and that maybe these OTHER fasteners would work. I mean, it was just nice. Considerate. It made me happy.
At the check out line I am always asked if I need help loading the truck. I always say, «No thanks!» but the point is, they ask.

I already knew how many stars I’d be handing out, but I looked at the distribution anyway. I’m in the general ball park at 4 stars.
In keeping with a need to do things in even numbers, and write this review as part of a pair, I will say that this Home Depot earns their 4 stars with more solidity than does Lowe’s.
Sometimes, it is a little hard to get a customer service person. However, when you do, they are helpful. In the last few times I’ve been there, I have gotten excellent customer service from both the help desk and the employees working in specific departments. About 3 employees were outstanding, including a person who helped me cart some things out to the car. Yet another employee was on the humorous side since he was a «dude» who accorded me «dude» treatment that was a little too familiar when I could have been his dad, but I’ll take that to stoic or disinterested customer service. He was helpful as well.
This Home Depot’s location is great. It’s right off I-​205 at Johnson Creek Blvd. where it intersects busy SE 82^nd Avenue.
The negatives are few. The parking lot is busy and sometimes it seems hard to find a parking place. If I’m in there too long, I get a headache from all the orange colored crap, such as signage and whatnot. It’s a little darker than Lowe’s, but not by much.
Again, you can go here and then find you need to go to Lowe’s to find your item. The converse is also true. In that way, it’s a wash.
So, in a paired set of reviews, I’ll give both this Home Depot and Lowe’s in the same geographic area 4 stars, but I actually prefer this Home Depot to the nearby Lowe’s.

Terrible customer service. Maybe all the poison is effecting their brains. Checkers are in such a hurry to get to the next in a line of one she didn’t bother to answer my question. She semi tried to answer the lady behind me question but didn’t try very hard.
Getting a little help with an item on a higher shelf wasn’t easy either, talking down to us & not happy she had to help. Garden department is in dire need of friendly people to help.
