This place was great. I stopped when passing through town. Tons of local foods and a very nice bulk granola area. The café upstairs had fresh baked goods. I would recommend stopping by if your passing through

I love this place. Everyone is really nice and they have a good selection of natural foods for a tiny town. They really care about what they serve their community. The upstairs café is cute. Simple. The coffee is great. I always try to stop by when i am in town.

Awesome little foodie store in the middle of old Hardwick. A little piece of paradise, a nice addition to all the local farms, as well as the many local new restaurants popping up in the area that cater local products. Buffalo Mountain offers VT products too, in a big variety. I saw local bread, meat, and veggies, soaps, cheese, plants, arts and crafts, candy, and so much more. A huge bulk items section, which rocks as if you only needed a little bit. Parking is tight, street only, and the little café upstairs is nice quaint addition. Free wi-fi.

What’s not to love about the Co-op? I pretty much grew up here and will proudly say I’m a «coop kid» through and through. This little store has an amazing selection, and anything they don’t carry can be specially ordered for you. With its emphasis on local products as well as fair trade and organic options around the world, this store should be at the top of your grocery list!

I love the Buffalo Mountain Co-op! I live 15 minutes away, and I work in Hardwick every day during the week, so the Co-op is where I do all of my grocery shopping. Don’t be fooled by it’s size– it may be small but it’s packed full of wonderful things! There is a pretty large selection of bulk pastas, grains, and rice, all priced very reasonably, which is great when you’re a poor recent college graduate. The selection of local foods here is also awesome– the Co-op really tries hard to support as many local businesses as possible. Go on a Monday or Thursday in the late afternoon and pick up some just-delivered Patchwork Farms bread. Sometimes, if you time it right, it’s still warm. There is a small café upstairs(think like 6 tables, maybe.) that serves breakfast and lunch. There are always a few homemade soups and pastries available, and then a decent sized sandwich menu. I recommend getting a grilled cheese with sharp cheddar on wheat with pesto and avocado– so good. The coolest thing about this store is that if you live nearby, you can become a member of the Co-op for a small yearly fee and then get a member discount every time you purchase anything! If you work for an hour each month at the Co-op, you get an even bigger discount. Totally worth it!

Hardwick Vermont is a nice little town but it’s pretty isolated — I come here every year to spend xmas with the boyfriend’s family and usually it’s so cold I tend to stay indoors pretty much the whole time I’m here, but when it occasionally goes above 0 degrees Fahrenheit it’s nice to venture outside for a little walk downtown. Being over an hour away from Burlington I didn’t expect a lot of selection and variety in terms of grocery options here but the Buffalo Mountain Co-Op was a terrific surprise for a spoiled city girl like myself. It’s kind of a nice combination of Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s without the evil corporate overlords. Great meats and vegetables(many locally grown) at great prices and I was amazed by the selection of organic foods and«international foods»(aka«the asian and jewish food section»). They have an inviting café(I’ve never actually tried it but I’m told it’s good).
