Really excellent Thai Food. Really, really authentic taste. The owner is as nice as can be. I don’t think the décor is particularly inviting. It is, however, interesting and definitely an ice breaker for conversation. I had pad ka prow it was good and I was asked how hot I wanted it. I told him that I liked it as hot as he did. I was wrong! My wife had beef penang mildly hot and it was delightful. I mixed mine with a second helping of rice.

When this place was under old management I couldn’t think of a better Thai place in the area. They could make it as spicy as we wanted, and everything was not just delicious, it was exactly what I’ve been craving for years since my last visit to Thailand. Now the management has changed and so did the food and the prices. You can’t select the spiciness of the meal you are about to have — they don’t even ask you(the menu doesn’t specify either). The meals are ok, but definitely not as satisfying as before. The prices have gone up and I am not sure they do the justice for the food that is served. I don’t think I will be coming back here again.

UNDERNEWOWNER! Now owned by same lady who owns Tham Rab Thai. So much MSG. No HEAT, it was more like Tex-Thai than authentic Thai. Sad to see an old favorite change. Won’t be back.

Best Thai shrimp fried rice in the area. Better than regular Chinese fried rice. So delicious and fresh. When I went, the owner was the one who took my order and cooked my order. He was friendly, courteous, and speedy. Definitely recommend this spot :-)

This place didn’t look like the pictures here at all. I later found out why! My 3 year old daughter and I stopped in for lunch. I had been really curious about this place and the good reviews on Unilocal.Well, they weren’t wrong! After my daughter and I looked over the flip book menu that included pictures she chose Lard Na Noodle(aka slimy noodles according to my child) with chicken, broccoli, mushroom, snap peas, and a simple(not spicy at all) slimy sauce. She actually loved it and gobbled most of it up! The owner/chef offered to make a small portion for her, good thing because it was still quite a bit and he only charged $ 3! I ordered Pad Thai with pork, spice level 3. Yowzer! I like it hot and it delivered. All very fresh and really tasty. So I was really sad to hear that he will be closing it down in a week!(So like in first week of May sometime) Hence the lack of décor. He said he’s moving out of state and another Thai place will take his place. He said he tried the other lady’s food and it was pretty good. I hope so! Maybe a lady’s touch is what this place needs anyway. Overall, great food but you better hurry if you want to try something new or have a favorite before it’s gone forever.

We continually look for mom and pop local restaurants where great attention is paid to the quality of their food and service. Such a restaurant is this small Thai restaurant in a strip shopping center. It was evident that little money was available for furnishings and décor, as the mismatched tables and chairs appeared to be acquired from thrift centers. But the owner and chef greeted us and prepared a special vegetable dish not on the menu, created merely from our description of what we wanted. It was wonderful, and we recommended to him that he include it on the menu. Other hits were the Tom Yum Gai soup and the Thai fried rice. We will definitely be back; the food was so good, we didn’t even notice our surroundings. We were too busy feeding our faces.

Rama Thai is simply amazing. Your in for a real treat in a budget meal. Regardless of what you order the chef will guarantee your satisfaction. He basically run the whole business by himself. Made from scratch home-cook meal all the time. Papaya salad is one of my favorite. Just try it yourself if your in the area.

Great place. My friends and I came in close to closing(we didn’t know, it was our first time!) and we were greeted kindly and told to stay. The table of regulars confirmed that this was a great place and I was excited to be able to try it. I had the pad thai, which I thought was delicious! I can’t wait to go back here again. The customer service is awesome :)

So funny how everyone has a comment about the décor. Anyways, I really enjoy eating here. The owner(s) so nice, the food comes out hot and fresh quickly. Every time I go I can hear the cook preparing my meal, slicing up fresh vegetables and it cooking in the skillet. I also have a peanut allergy so the cook is always sure to carefully prepare my meal to avoid any cross contamination. I really appreciate that so much. The soups are all so amazing and the pad kee mau is my personal favorite. They even let you pick your level of spicyness. It’s hard to find decent Thai food in this area so I would definitely recommend this place. You can also order food to go obviously.

WOW!!! My wife and I ordered the Beef Pad Thai and I have to say it was delicious. The décor is a bit strange but we went there for the food. My son had their Chicken Wings and they were amazing in the sauce they come in. Do not judge a book by it’s cover… Give it a chance!!!

I’m incredibly reluctant to give this place a two star rating but, you, my Unilocaler friend, about to go in and dine… should be informed. PROS: 1. The owner is incredibly friendly. I enjoyed our conversation. 2. The place is filled with personality. 3. The prices are very reasonable. CONS: 1. I question how clean it is. — There was a highchair in the women’s restroom. — The owner/cook/waiter was wearing filthy clothing and slippers. 2. The place is filled with personality. 3. After I ordered, I heard a microwave and then my food came out stat. 4. My food tasted like it came out of a microwave and was not fresh. I really enjoy Thai food. I dine on it quite a bit and know the difference between fresh, authentic, and the like. I really like the owner and hope he succeeds but I’m not sure he will since there is a competitor less than half a mile away on the same street and cranking out some pretty decent food for this area. Hopefully success is in his future!

So I will say don’t judge a book by its cover. The décor is terrible. Just a bunch of knick knacks and curtains. The menus are cheap as well. BUT try the food. The Thai tea is huge and tasty. I always order the pad Thai and it’s always fabulous. Whenever I have a class at painting with a twist which is right next door, I always pick up a Thai tea. Come visit for the awesome food and if you’re a decorator maybe you should offer them your services. They need it.

I’ve only had the Yum Nuer here. While the taste and heat were good, the cut of beef was not. Tough and not really grilled. This is in between my favorite places in Killeen and Temple. I don’t really see any reason to stop when driving in either direction.

In contrast to the other reviewers, I enjoyed the«living room» feel of the restaurant. The Thai music playing. CNN news on the big screen television kind of ruined the ambiance. Nonetheless, the help was very friendly and I love the fact that the cook comes out to ask you how the food was. Another plus is that you can BYOB and there is no corking fee. In spite of the charm, I have not been a huge fan of the food. I tried the cashew chicken and Tum Yum Gai, both of which were pretty good. Did not like the garlic chicken. The Pad Thai was somewhere around average. Might go back, but in no hurry

The décor is a little strange and cluttered(and it does look like a furniture store as the previous reviewer said), but that’s not really the point. I ordered the pad thai and my boss ordered the cashew chicken. Both were very large servings, so we ended up with plenty of leftovers. Both dishes were delicious and it didn’t take long for our food to come out. I also ordered the only dessert they have, which is a slice of banana wrapped around like an eggroll with honey and powdered sugar. It came with about 5 or 6 of the banana eggrolls and they were really, really good. All the other dishes were an average of $ 8 – 10. I’d recommend this place and I’m definitely going back.

The décor of this restaurant made me feel like I walked into an Asian furniture store. The chairs and tables don’t match each other but I didn’t come here for the décor. They have a limited selection of dishes for lunch and the price averaged around $ 8 – 9. I ordered the mild red curry and it included the rice for $ 8.25. The curry was spicy for being mild but it was delicious. I also enjoyed their very large cup of Thai iced tea for $ 3.25. The serving size is a good large size. I could not finish all my food. I may come again in the future.
