Sally’s Cider Press is my new favorite thing about moving to the area. This is a traditional cider press that you can bring your own apples to get pressed to turn into cider. They also sell cider if you don’t bring your own apples. Not only is their cider delicious(made with local varieties of apples – definitely not a store-bought cider taste), it is cheap! $ 6/gallon or $ 5.50 if you buy four or more. I’ve seen other local cider purveyors sell their gallons for $ 10 each. Additionally, they sell specialty products like Apple Butter and Apple Cider Vinegar. Plus, the cider house farm market next door has a lot of other produce & goodies from farms within a 30 mile radius. Makes for a fun Fall activity/mini roadtrip from the city. They are open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays during the local apple harvest season(pretty much the month of October, give or take a few weeks in September/November if we’re lucky).
