Went back for my son’s pumpkin field trip. We enjoyed an apple from their trees, oh my deliciousness! Highly suggest their fresh picked apples.

My family loved their trip to Detering Orchards but I personally cannot get enough of The Duchess of Cansalot! I Have learned so much from her and her demonstrations are very hands-on. I know that her recipes are the reason why Detering can’t keep those jars of peaches on the shelves! Just incredible and totally worth the drive! Please say«Hi» to the Duchess for me!

I’ve been coming to this farm for three seasons now, and they are consistently the best place to pick fresh produce near Eugene. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the buckets and facilities are clean. Their prices are generous, and the farm itself is beautiful. It’s a bit of a drive from south Eugene, but worth it. So far, I’ve picked tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, peaches, blueberries, green beans, and cherries, and purchased bell peppers, jalapeños, banana peppers, onions, and rhubarb. I’ve never been to their events — the Cherry Daze or the canning demonstrations — and I probably won’t, because I am familiar with making pies and canning. But for the fruit and veggies, I’ll visit this place at least half a dozen times during the summer. Great farm!

Loved it! There is an amazing selection of u-pick fruit and veggies, along with the opportunity to pay slightly more for things that have already been picked. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There is nothing like the taste of a warm, ripe cherry that you’ve just picked from a tree! They were having some sort of event when we were there, with a little band playing country-ish sounding music. That’s not exactly my cup of tea, but it added to the fun and old-fashioned atmosphere.

A Fall tradition is born! For .42 per pound we picked several gallons of apples. To can and dehydrate. They have tons of seasonal fruits and some veggies. It is a cute place!

We went for Cherry Daze– it was an okay time, the fruit was excellent and the picking was fun. Our main issue was how commercial it was– there were tons of signs, rap/pop music blaring VERY loudly, etc. The other big issue is that they do not label where produce is from, so you’re assuming you’re buying produce they grow there, but actually a lot of their stuff is from other farms. We noticed that the tomatoes had a «grown here!» sign and when we asked about the two other veggies we were buying they said they came from Washington! It felt dishonest. We’ll probably stick to the smaller farms in the area in the future. They also don’t have a pesticide disclosure which is a bit awkward. :/

Detering’s orchard sure isn’t the same as it was a few years ago, I loved going out there it was just a good old fashion farm. Stopped by today what a zoo of signs, signs everywhere, no parking here, dogs on leash, etc. plus they had music blaring it was like Disneyland. Sad that the old timer Mr. Detering passed away. What the family has done to his beautiful orchard /farm sucks. I will never go there again. The photo I posted was from my yard not the orchard, thought I would give Unilocalpers something pleasing to the eye because Deterings certainly wasn’t.

Last week I purchased a large bag of walnuts from Detering– an investment of more than $ 30. The nuts are inedible, tasting of plastic, and having a powdery, unpleasant texture. They are going in the trash. I won’t be returning to Detering.

Nostalgia from my childhood made us revisit Detering’s orchard. They have a great selection of u-pick berries, peaches, apples n stuff. The prices are very affordable. The staff is friendly and their dogs are cute. My only complaint is that they use pesticides on their orchard. Insert sad face. That is why I give them 4 stars.

When the peaches are in season there is no better place! They have choices and varieties you can’t find anywhere else. Awesome.

Lovely farm with a wide variety of crops to choose from. Apples for $ 0.50/pound was to good too resist. It was great to try apples in the field to determine if we liked them or not. Great new and old varieties on the farm. Their farm stand had tomatoes, pumpkin, local eggs, squash, okra and lots more. I will be back for cherry harvest next summer.

We enjoyed the blueberry, peach, and cherry u-pick last week. The fruit was abundant, ripe and easy to reach. It’s definitely worth the drive.

Great place. I love it because you can U-pick most everything there which saves you money. So far this year I have U-picked cherries and windfall peaches for canning. You can get a nice selection of fruits and veggies and don’t have to U-pick if you don’t want to. On the weekends it can get a little hectic as this is a well known place(my mom picked their over 40 years ago as a kid). Always friendly and well worth the drive.
