Today; Well the FOOD was horrible! We got the wings again and this time I went with lemon pepper. I kid you not, you woulda thought they coated the chicken in straight salt. Service was slow, it was like waiting every 20 min to get someone to help refill drinks and napkins. Yesterday: i give this a 3 because the food reminds me of what you would get a small bar. Lots of choices on the menu for FRIED seafood. They have a little bit of everything from burgers, pizza, lots of appetizer choices and grilled/fried shrimp, crab and lobster. Today we ordered a Margarita which was super sweet and hot wings. Hot wings were by 5 get 5 wings for free. They were fine for the price. Staff friendly and quick to wait on you.

Love this place. It’s a great place to hang out with the girls but also amazing to combine Sunday football with a date. Was here tonight with my boyfriend since there I do not cook on any football days. Played around of pool, ate, watched some ball and went home. It’s not a cheap place but very well worth it. Great atmosphere, clean, friendly staff and good eating.

Weak tap list, but decent bottle list organized by brewery. Looks to be in rotations. Uninspired food. Nice server.

My wife and I wanted to go out for seafood. The usual choices for us in the area always left us flat. So we used trip advisor and found this restaurant. From the beginning it was a great experience. The hostess opened the door and welcomed us, our server knew the menu, was very knowledgeable about the menu and made good suggestions about our dining experience. I ordered frog legs as an appetizer and their New Orleans Steam pot and my wife, the crab fanatic ordered the crab dip and their crab cakes. The frog legs were good, one waslittle tough, the rest were tender. I have had frogs legs in the past they get that way, even when I made them, so I could not ding them on that. The steam pot was good and a great value. If I had to ding them at all, it would be that the seafood was just a tad over cooked. But I would rather have over cooked than under cooked. It had an excellent flavor and I Was pleased. My wife loved her crab dip and I tried it and thought it was just right. She said the crab cakes were very good also. Our server, Steve, took good care of us and he was attentive without being hovering, which I greatly appreciated. All in all, I would go there again, and plan to. I am not impressed with Unilocal’s rating here. It is an excellent place, but I cannot do the 4 star due to Unilocal descriptor.

Went there for the first time last night. Very relaxedz unique, and comfortable atmosphere, with good service. The Chesapeake burger was amazing and they had a great beer selection. There’s a separate, smaller bar outside if you want to eat out there. Overall a great experience and a place I would(and will) go to again!

We came to Joe K’s after walking out of Captain Dons from the worst experience I have ever encountered. It was Fathers Day and my husband wasn’t too happy after wasting an hour at Captain Dons. At Joe K’s we were seated immediately, and immediately had our drinks ordered. I had a Cream Soda, and that is now going to be my go-to-drink, it was amazing! My husband had the Long Island ice tea and loved his as well. We had shark bites for an appetizer and they were very good, very tender. The server the entire time had our table cleaned off completely, not a dirty napkin or plate sat there over a couple minutes. The service was impeccable. For dinner we ordered the steampot for two and there was so much food we even had some leftover. The food was seasoned well and and cooked wonderfully! For dessert we got the FRIEDOREOS… That’s all I need to say. Heavenly! We will be back to Joe K’s, thank you for saving the day!

In the land of franchise restaurant is the outlier sports bar. And a large venue it is. Interestingly, the entrance is problematic where a lawn sign has to direct you past the Texas Roadhouse. I would think this is a great Friday night and weekend destination. Even summer week nights are probably a blast with their outdoor deck. With two billiard tables and the large roomy interior bar, it’s probably a hoot of a place to party. I walked in early, at least earlier than I normally get to my eating destination when biz traveling. The wraparound bartop is 160+ l.f. with only 5 patrons sitting at it. Several others were playing pool and others outside even though rainy and overcast. With plenty of space all around, a blonde Lulu Roman sat directly across from me, and to flatter myself, I thought for sure she’s going to be bothersome and flirtatious. Thankfully, I’m an idiot and 20 minutes later, her 30-tooth male date showed up. Whew!!! FYI, I did catch her looking at me(or was it the TV screen over my head?) across the way. Oh, the food… I asked the bartender if the hamburgers were«kickass». I figured I’d ask her that since the menu was limited but they had several burger varieties to offer. She didn’t do a great job of selling but my Mushroom Swiss Medium was excellent. I substituted carbs for a salad so did not get to sample the fries. A lady two seats down said she loved the onion rings but I’m trying to be a good paleowannabe. Finally, the beer choice is thoughtfully offered. Although only 8 on tap but a large bottled offering, everyone can discover a favorite here. And the bartender was new but was good. Cheers!

I cannot begin to describe how utterly disappointing this place was. The over priced food came out undercooked and overlooked at the same meal. My daughters chicken fingers had terribly seasoned tempura like breading that was not even completely cooked. The chicken was so tough that the dirty butter knife provided could barely cut through it. My «medium» burger was as well as they come. One high note was the thick slab bacon and generous but not over bearing cheese. It tasted like, in an effort to be original, they douse every substance in processed onion powder. Speaking of which, the stale onion flavored chips(I think they are from Dirty brand) were more garnish than anything. I literally left with a stomach ache after spending $ 40 on this garbage. The only reason this plastic excuse for a restaurant got a second star was for beer selection. Yes they are all the ones on special at the wholesaler, and yes you can get them at any place with more than 10 taps, bet they have them and that’s more than I can say for 90% of central PA. My guess is that the beer is old based on the lack of patrons terrible location at the edge of the world.

Joe K’s(or whatever the latest name change might be) is a great location for a night out on the deck. The atmosphere is one that I love! With fire pits and comfy chairs they are there to fill your beverage needs as well. The food is ok — if you are getting burgers or apps you will be fine! The drink options are great and they have frequent specials on beverages and food. They also have many special nights with live music, and viewing parties for games, fights and shows!

The food is fantasic. You cannot beat the seafood for the price. We had a fried oreo for dessert and it was good too! My main issue, and why I didnt give 5 stars, is the music for dinner time was horrible. It was more club music. Our server was also very slow despite the food coming very quickly.

I believe the owner of this place is the same one that has owned a zillion other places in harrisburg that keeps closing and reopening under different names. There was Mulligans before this which I think was the same owner. On 22 there was the bourbon street saloon that did not last and now its susquehanna ale house. seems these places keep popping up and then not doing well or whatever and reopen as a different place. wish he would stick with one place and be done with it. Its getting to the point that I will stop going because its getting old to like a place to have it close and reopen as a totally different place. This place is OK, nothing great but not bad but the concept is nice if you are into crabs etc. Bar food is your normal bar food. Atmosphere is nice. not sure if I will go back though until I see that this place«makes it» first. edit 3⁄15. been back several times and its a decent place. service is average, sometimes good, sometimes a bit slow, atmosphere is very nice and good food.

Joe K’s is a take on a Joe’s Crab Shack. The concept of being a brewhouse is a little miss leading as the restaurant serves microbrews from other breweries and does not produce their own. Although at the time of this review it is listed the place is friendly for kids, there is not a kids menu. The one positive element is the steam pots are very full and can easily be shared by two people and still leave full. Although most of this does not seem a reason to give the place two stars, the biggest reason was the fly infestation. During the meal there were at least four flies swarming the table that were quite an annoyance while trying to not fling steam pot juices all over the place while trying to get flies away from the food. All in all, the food was ok, the service was decent but the atmosphere was not as inviting as a restaurant should be. Happy Dining!

I absolutely love this place. My friends and I go here often. It’s a great place to kick back and have a drink or two. I definitely adore the bonfires outside. It’s been the perfect summer hangout for us

Have been here a couple times for work. Loaded ranch fries are great(with some interesting seasoning) but the crab dip is really the star! Tried the lobster tacos but they were WAY too spicy and something tasted really off — only took a couple bites then gave up. The mango in the salsa on the tacos were mushy. Seems really overpriced. Everyone else described their food as just ok. With prices $ 10 – 30 food has to be better than ok. Will def be back for the crab dip, but won’t try anything else. Recommend for apps, not for a full meal.

The steam pots are great. They are literally filled from top to bottom with crab, shrimp, clams and lobster. We’ll worth the money. You will go home with leftovers. Very good place.

Don’t make a reservation, they lost 10 chairs and can’t accommodate the appropriate number of people around a fire pit. Specifically reserved a fire pit and we ended up at a booth. We sat at the fire pit on high and low chairs for 30 minutes with no fire, and as soon as we left, they turned on the fire for a group who had no reservation. Would’ve rather driven to TJ Rockwell’s. It took 30 minutes to get water, and the manager, Dana, was no help at all. But the desert was good. The waitress told us happy birthday numerous time and it was no ones birthday.

Seafood steam pot tasted OK but was food for two and had only 2 small potatoes 2 small corn on cob and the sausage was barely enough to taste if it was any good … and even though the steam pot advertised dungenous crab there was none… won’t be here long… oh and BTW … the entire deck is smoking!!! Just wasn’t enough to keep the flies away! Never going here again…

Nice addition to Harrisburg. Reminds me of a Joe’s Crabshack. Got the largest steam pot with lobster. Excellently prepared and plenty enough for two to share. Will be going back.
