Needed some food & took a chance. A small dining room past the bar. Comfortable setting for a small pub. Food was good.

This bar has good drink specials. As for the food I have never tried it before. The service has been good most of the times that I have gone here. I am only giving it three stars because I have had some good experiences there and many of the workers are very kind. The horror story that for two stars removed are once I got a flaming dr. pepper shot and they filled it too high. This resulted in my hard catching on fire and a slight burn. So in all this is a good place to go to try just do not order anything that isn’t a typical drink.

Love this place. Service is great. Food is great. Atmosphere is cool. I haven’t gotten anything on the menu I haven’t liked. Nice place to eat or drink or both.

Came in off the street with no knowledge of the food, I eat out for almost every meal while traveling and this place scored huge! And the prices are half what I expected to pay for the meal… Absolutely stunned at how amazing this three course Meal was! Give this chef a raise or a paid vacation or something he is amazing!

visiting from out of town, this place was incredible. went on a random wednesday night and it was packed, which was why we happened to stop in here. i didn’t expect anything great from a «pub» but this place was just fun and cozy. typical pub style, with plenty of beers and tight corners to sit. wasn’t too hungry so i got the bacon and ranch fries with added pulled pork on top(+ melted cheese). WOW this was delicious. my boyfriend got a wrap with peaches which was a special, so it isn’t on their main menu. usually pubs don’t pay much attention to food, but this place really was excellent. service was great as well! never had to ask our waiter for anything. i would definitely stop in here again if i was ever in the area.

McGrath’s food far surpasses typical pub food. The wings are not merely junk-y, they are interesting. The specials are always changing and feature a wide variety of choices. I’ve never been disappointed by a meal there. I go often because it’s one of the only bars in Harrisburg that I can stand. The upstairs is cozy; the décor is reminiscent of a living room, and the small balcony is perfect to escape the crowd. I dock one point because it, like most bars in Harrisburg, plays the music too loudly. It’s as if the bar owners in Harrisburg decided that every pub, bar, or restaurant can double as a dance club. This makes it much less fun for those of us who actually like talking to each other(gasp!). Go to any other city, and the loud music is reserved for the clubs.

Great service and food. Just what we were looking for! The friendly atmosphere perfectly fits the Irish pub setting. I had their specialty, Irish Fish and Chips. This entrée was not the typical frozen fish and fries meal. The fish pieces were perfectly fried pieces of fresh salmon. My wife had the Delmonico steak, and it was very tender and cooked exactly to her liking. Will definitely return when back in Harrisburg again.

4.5 stars? That’s what the stars were when we arrived at this pub. I beg to disagree. The service was good, no doubt. But the food was standard pub fare. 3 stars standard. Not quite sure what people were raving about. I had the Irish Pub Burger, prepared medium rare, with chips and a pickle. It was ok. Kind of tasteless for a burger with bacon, cheese and coleslaw, though. The«fries» we’re cute, sliced thick chips. A decent decent amount of seasoning was sprinkled on them. Standard. Decent. Good.

Great Irish Pub in Harrisburg. My fiancée and I spent the majority of NYE here, and it was really great! The wings are where it’s at! So gooooood! The delmonico steak was exceptional and prepared as I asked for it(rare). This place makes me wish I lived on the East Coast almost all by itself! Really cool atmosphere, including really great stained glass windows! DEFINITELY check this place out!

It does not get better. Told the bar lass what kind of beer I like. She recommended the perfect alternative. I had the specialty signature burger. Fries are fantastic. When you walk in you don’t expect updated pleasant. You expect musty, dank, dated. Music is unexpected as well. Think chill understated. I don’t get to Harrisburg much but if I’m coming back, McGrath’s is on the list. I’ll arrive and say«It is I, himself. Now where’s me pint?»

I frequent Mcgraths on a regular basis. I like it; I like the food. However, I’m regularly disappointed by the bartender Joanna who is downright rude. If you aren’t quite ready to order another drink she flat out asks you to leave the bar. This has happened numerous times, despite my frequent patronage. For instance, I had more to drink in my glass, and she took it without asking if I was done. She’s rude. On the other hand, if Chris is there, he’s fantastic, incredibly friendly, and treats customers well. As I said, the food is good, but the selective service truly turns me off.
