They serve sandwiches on paper plates. The coffee was middling. The surly guy who served me(he used to work at the crêpe place in Strawberry Square) needs to find a new line of work. NEVERAGAIN.

My Brie & honey crêpe was so effing delicious. It’s pretty hypnotic watching the owner make these things too. I also had a pomegranate orange pellegrino and it blew my mind. Prices are beyond reasonable… They’re really low. I’ll be back.

New coffee house in the Burg! Friendly staff, always good. Staff is still learning, but they have spirit. Coffee has a good fresh taste, not overly complex but a good middle road. Plenty of crêpe choices– all reasonably priced. They offer a good resource«pay it forward» for those in need of a meal(homeless) I’ll direct the folks always asking on the sidewalk their way. Perhaps once they get established they will add a little more atmosphere inside. I wish them well.

LOCATION This place is attached to the Whitaker Center on the 2nd floor. You can also go through the Strawberry Arcade, go to the 2nd floor and take the hallway by the food court that goes to the Hilton and enter from there. FOOD so so. I had a «Tom» sand which. It came in a crêpe which is all they had(ran out of Panini’s). The turkey was definitely processed deli meat. The reviews I read made me think it was unprocessed right off the bone. COFFEE –mini market grade. I just got a plain, black coffee. Not impressed.

What can I say about the On The Way Café? First: The food is WONDERFUL! I have always been health conscious and at home, only eat unprocessed meats and vegetables… as much as possible. Their chicken is WOW, real chicken… their turkey is REAL tender roasted turkey! Not cheap, non-food lunch meat. Carmelites onions, organic spinach, tomatoes, freshly prepared ratatouille, spinach/feta…all wrapped gently in a tender paper thin blini(think crêpe)…what’s not to like! The desserts are to die for if you like chocolate, dark chocolate, fresh fruit… it’s the bomb! I love the non-traditional drinks. I had a refreshing San Pelligrino orange, priced very reasonably. What I love is the Pay it Forward Principle… like a mission to serve people, that happens to serve food! You can buy meals in advance for folks who are homeless, down on their luck, forgot money, single mom’s with hungry kids, folks fighting addictions, recently laid off, just doesn’t make enough money… pretty awesome. $ 5 buys a meal and helps encourage our neighbors down on their luck… So, even if it’s not On the Way, it’s worth going a little out of the way, to try out this new charmer!

I decided to try this new place for lunch. They were not busy at all, but I waited at the counter(being ignored by both staffers), the guy making the food took orders for 2 people who came in after me, but whom he knew(I could tell by their conversation). I ordered a turkey & cheese wrap and that exactly what I got. They did not offer lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc. The wrap was a nice size, but the taste was bland at best. I must say I was surprised to see actual sliced turkey, not deli turkey. Still this was not enough to make up for the quality of the food nor the rudeness of the staff. I will not be back.

This place just opened a few days ago, and the staff is still being trained. The cashier and the man she was training was very nice. I will break my review down into sections so that it can be easier to find what you neesnto know. I ordered a turkey and cheese wrap. I had the option of wrap or a crêpe or sandwich. I also had a cold drink. My wife had an iced chai latte and an apple turnover. My kids split a chocolate and banana crêpe. They each had a juice box. Turkey and cheese wrap: wrap was a normal white flour tortilla. The turkey was real turkey and not processed lunch meat. I opted to have mine grilled, which was not a problem. The menu listed the wrap as containing turkey, cheese and olive oil. The idea is to buikd your own with the additions to tour taste. I added fire roasted peopers, carmelized onions and avocado. Quality: five stars. I liked the unprocessed food. Quantity: I was surprised to find that for seven dollars, i got TWO wraps on my plate. Flavor: Turkey was obviously slow roasted. It was juicy and delicious. The onions were perfection. Fresh ingredients. Apple turnover: fresh baked, flaky and delicious. Decent portion. Apple filling was made from fresh apples. Price? Two dollars! Wow… Heaven. Chocolate and banana crêpe: the crêpe itself was not too thin and not too thick. It was fluffy and tasted rich in eggs and butter. The chocolate was a high quality European milk chocolate. There was just enough. Bananas were not green nor over ripe. Whipped crème was fresh not canned. Price: 5 bucks Chao latte: excellent spiced chai taste. Not overwhelming with one dominant spice. Hints of black pepper and nutmeg. Price? 4 dollars for a large. Beverages: this place does not have soda. They have an open front cooler with bottles you can grab yourself. I saw V8 splash, sanpellegrino flavored water, bottled water and juices. My kids picked Capri Sun pouches for a Buck each. I got a San pellegrino arengiatta for a Buck. Drinks were cold and fresh. Prices for most were a dollar. Half the price of local stores. Our experience was great. Food is designed for take out. If you eat in, everyrgin is served on paper and plastic. It is part of a non profit museum next door. We will return. We will bring friends next time.
