Went here for a business dinner so I can’t comment on the full menu, as we had the private room with the«silver» menu. The two appetizers(crab cakes and tomato/mozzarella/basil crostinis were fine, nothing special, but not horrible. The«Morton’s» salad was probably one of the best things I had, it was light and flavorful. For my main course I got the filet with green beans and twice baked potatoes. The filet was cooked perfect but somehow didn’t measure up to filet I make at home or have at Ruth Chris’. I would have preferred a sauce or crust on top with some onions and mushrooms. The sides were OK, PF Changs makes better green beans. All in all, not terrible but at that price point, I expect better than OK.

This place exceeded my expectation, the service was unbelievable, the food was amazing, went for my anniversary — table was set up gorgeously with hearts, two photos were taken of us framed in a greeting card — best restaurant in CT. Fine dining with all the quality perks. Thank you for an amazing night!

I just realized of all the times I’ve ever been here, I’ve never gave a review. If this amazing steakhouse doesn’t speak for it self as a landmark on its own in Hartford, as The Steak House to go to… You should know with all the great upscale restaurants within 45 minutes, this has to be the most reliable choice for your Bone-In-Filet. With the many signature seafood and steak options on the menu there is also a large selection of quality wine to pair your delicious cut of meat with. You won’t be disappointed. It also has to be said that the impeccable service would make this location first choice to bring your business events and meetings to. There is a large separate room that gives you privacy. Just a short walk from downtown marriott. Conveniently right off the highway. The valet parking isn’t free but is cheaper than the 10 $ minimum for parking across the street.

How can a place so good be so bad at times? I’ve been here for dinner a handful of times over the years for business. Which is good, because it’s not cheap. And steaks there are quite good. Service was, well, decent. But the meal quickly becomes a bit forgettable. But go to the bar and you’ll start remembering it for all the wrong reasons. Service is terrible — long waits, no water(even when requested), no offers for more drinks. And the food — which admittedly is happy hour all week but which for $ 6 – 7 is still not a bargain — was mediocre. The tuna tacos are quite good, but the burgers were semi-warmed. I get better sliders at Wood-n-Tap. It would’ve helped too if the fries had come out at the same time as the burgers instead of nearly 10 minutes later. IF they come out that late, they better be piping hot. They weren’t. And yes, my glass had some substance on the outside of it(which was replaced when I pointed it out), but that happens anywhere. But it shouldn’t really happen at Morton’s. Morton’s is better than this. And at these prices, it doesn’t deserve getting breaks. It has to be on all the time. Experience just shows they are not.
