The food was okay but service was terrible. We had a coupon to get 10% off and the owner turned it down rudely. It would be one thing if he apologized that the coupon was no longer valid but he dismissed it very curtly. This upset my wife and left a bad taste at the end of dinner. We are very disappointed and we will not be returning.

We have been back to Bosphorus a couple of times recently. They have definitely picked up their game. The owner is a nice guy and is very solicitious. We were started off with pita bread and olive paste. The meze are very good. There is a great mixed grill for two on the menu that I have shared the last two times that I have eaten there. It’s really good and covers all of the grilled food bases. I’m happy that this pleasant restaurant has gotten it’s act together.

Difficult to rate. I might return but only for baba ganoush & tabouleh, which were very fresh & tasty for this Sunday lunch. Also, the Harissa was good. However, the hummus & falafel were in inexcusably bland. The tahini sauce & hummus were watered down. The nice owner asked, but did not actually care about my opinion. If you want good falafel, go to Chickpea in NYC.

Too expensive for very mediocre food. Not much flavor. The fried food was greasy. The quality of wine was disappointing. My husband loves Turkish food and was disappointed.

We live close by and thought this would be a nice place to add to the list, but sadly not. Food was flavorless and the Falafel wasn’t cooked thru. If you have never eaten even reasonable Turkish food, this place may pass muster but we’ll not be back. The owners and staff are Russian,(BosphoRus-sian) and I would prefer good Russian food to bad Turkish any day of the week.

The food is ok. The service is slow. There is nothing special about this place. The prices are extraordinarily high for what you get.

This review is for take-out & delivery only. Food arrived within normal time about 30 – 45 mins. We ordered the cold appetizer plate which came with a variety of vegetarian sides like baba ghanoush, hummus and tabouli. The entire platter lacked flavor, had excess oil and the bean salad tasted slimy and weeks old/spoiled. We also ordered the chicken swarma which was average again very bland and lacked flavor. Lastly we ordered the spinach pie. These were disappointing. The feta cheese or whatever was inside tasted moldy and they were made so sloppy.

We order takeout from here when we have guests and it’s always a hit. Also, the people there are super nice and so it’s a pleasure to order from them. Their rice and pita and hot sauce are amazing … I don’t know how they do it! We also really like the chicken swarma, the vegetable/hummus entrée, and the pelmeni dumplings.

We’ve eaten here a few times. It is sure to be an enjoyable evening, whether we get full on entrees or just an assortment of meze items. The food is consistently good, and the pricing is good/competitive for Westchester County. This is one of our favorite restaurants in our«restaurant rotation.» The service was more than adequate and the décor is nicely done, seating is comfortable. Parking on street with meter or up the block in a municipal garage.

A delicious restaurant and great choice for vegetarians. We were a table of four and had salads and many hot and cold appetizers, all vegetarian. All were fresh and delicious, and the staff was attentive and helpful. Great Turkish coffee. Great value for the money, great experience.

Very good food here. I have to say that I’m spoiled(working in Manhattan). I have access to great food. When I do get back home to Westchester I enjoy a good mediterranean dish from Bosphorus. Lamb and Chicken are very good. The Baklava is one of the best I’ve had(truly shocked me considering how picky I am).

Wow, what a great find… the food was outstanding, the service was impeccable and it is a lovely space. We eat out a lot and I have to say that was the best meal I have had in quite some time ! Highly recommend !

This is a nice place for groups as well as well couples. Good clean food that is authentic but and same time not spicy or terribly different. Music is not loud. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking is easy.

this is my first review, but all I can say is the restaurant is in a nice location and finding parking was easy. As soon as I walked in w/my parents the restaurant wasn’t that busy. We sat down and are waiter came to us but I noticed he was very pushy. My parents and I look at the menu and realized it was very pricey. I ordered a chicken kebab and the kebab was very delicious but the rice tasted old. Overall the food was okay for me. The only reason we went to this restaurant was because my mom got a gift certificate for $ 25 off and when we gave it to them they wouldn’t accept it and my mom got very mad. If it was me I wouldn’t go back because they didn’t want to please there customers at all.

I tried this place out with friends, one of whom is actually Turkish. We had an overall lackluster experience, starting with our very nice yet clueless waiter, who for some reason felt compelled to give us 20 – 25 minutes to decide on our entrees… and then another 20 – 25 minutes at the end of the meal before he finally decided to finalize our bill. Having worked in restaurants in the past, these glaring lapses in service, especially at the end of the meal, are monstrous faux pas… especially considering the restaurant was EMPTY! I actually subtracted $ 5 from his tip due to this insane wait we politely endured at the end. To top things off, the food was below average and just plain not worth the price. The hummus was just«okay», and a very meek portion of it cost $ 7. The complimentary olive tapenade with the pita was in fact quite bland, as a previous Unilocaler had noted. But worst of all, the sliced lamb in my $ 23 entrée was dry, bland, and reminiscent of dog meat. The only reason I didn’t return it was because I was famished at the time and, for some reason, I felt the gesture would somehow offend my Turkish friend. This would probably only hold true though if I were to go under the assumption that all Turks are somehow related to each other, like many Greeks claim to be. So to you, BosphoRus, I say, «Close, but no ‘borek’!»

Excellent Mediterranean food. The iskander, mixed grill, and Donner are our favorites. Décor is casual. Have a baklava for desert.

We eat here frequently. The food is uniformly good and the owner greets you like family… actually better. Family does not treat you this well. It is rarely more than half full, partly because it is not inexpensive, but you leave having had good food and been well cared for. Of two weak reviews, one is from a former employee who believes she was underpaid. Okay, just somewhat biased? The other is from someone who says his meal came with rice instead of couscous. Had he asked his server, the server would have brought him couscous. No problem. They’ll do backflips to please people in that place. Don’t post a negative review without asking to see if they can fix the situation. Bottom line, good food, super friendly service. Not cheap… but do you want«cheap» food?

I delivered food here for a brief period. While the food is VERY good(especially the lentil soup and the chicken shwarma sandwich), I quit because the owner was rude to me, which isn’t acceptable from a boss, especially when he’s paying way below minimum wage. Also, it should be noted that the food is on the expensive side– in my opinion– too expensive.

I went to BosphoRus for dinner relatively early in the evening so we were the only customers in the restaurant when we arrived. We told the gentleman who was serving us that it was our first time so he brought over ezme and hummus for us to try on the house. The ezme wasn’t as spicy as anticipated, but it was quite flavorful and satisfying. The specials included lamb medallions and a lamb shank — my dining companion and I are both lamb fanatics so we got both dishes so that we could try them out. The lamb shank was served with onions, potatoes, eggplant, and other roasted vegetables. The lamb medallions were served with roasted bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. We ordered the baked rice pudding to share for dessert and it was also delicious. I’m absolutely crazy about Mediterranean food so I’m glad to have this option close to home, although it is pricey.

I think it is pretty good if you like Turkish food. Nice owner and very good dishes. Everything we have tried works well.
