My girlfriend & I wanted to try this place out because we were curious to try it, as we always drive down this way. We had dinner this past Thursday night 6⁄9OMG, The food was HORRIBLE! NOTASTE, SMALLPLACE, PARKINGISBAD, FOODWASVERYVERYVERYBLAND, But the service was good! I would NOT recommend anyone eating at this place unless you have bland taste buds, which I DONOTHAVE. I’m Laos so my taste buds are very ADVENTUROUS! With that being said, GOODLUCK if you decide to eat there! ALSO, I didn’t eat most of my food, so I was still hungry when I left this place! If you want delicious Vietnamese food go to this place, The food & the PHO is to die for! YES, it is in the Bronx, BUT it is worth the drive to have delicious food! Saigonese recently introduced a Massaman curry on their menu. It is delicious and worth a stop to have some.

I’ve been here a few times and each time the phở itself is rather disappointing. Sometimes its actually rather decent, more often the broth tastes like it was boiled in the same room as a cow, or in other words, very bland. The rolls are decent– not bad and not outstanding. Honestly I feel bad for people who will try their first taste of Veitnamese cusine here and conclude that it isn’t wonderful.

We’ve been here 3 times and enjoyed enormously; brought our grown son(who formerly lived in Southeast Asia for a few years) and he was impressed. Food is very fresh and delicious, authentic, and delicately seasoned(not highly spiced, as some may worry about). I don’t eat meat, and have found the seafood dishes, tofu dishes, soups and noodle dishes are really really good. We like to start with delicate summer rolls, crunchy veggies wrapped in rice paper, a refreshing appetizer. The squid appetizer is also delicious. Try to go early(by 5:00 for dinner) as this tiny restaurant fills quickly and people line up to get seated… good news travels, diners inevitably return and cheerfully wait. The tables are close together and crowded, so go here for the delicious and affordable cuisine, and friendly, hospitable vibe and service.

The food tasted fresh. Staff was friendly. The place can use a face lift its kinda old, small, and blah. With the pretty good food mixed with a more modern décor this place would be pretty cool.

First time here. Ordered from the appetizer, papaya shrimp salad. Presentation and portion is good but the taste is lacking. One of my least favorite I have eaten thus far. Disappointing as this is the only Vietnamese restaurant in the vicinity.

This is a very tiny restaurant that has a $ 20 minimum to use a credit card. We came here for lunch and ordered the chicken phở and grilled chicken with sticky rice. The chicken phở tasted fine and came with the usual sides of bean sprouts, chili peppers, basil, hoisin and hot sauces, and lime. The grilled chicken tasted fine but it was cut half way and they gave me a knife to cut the rest of it. I don’t know why it was like that. The low point was the sticky rice. I was expecting something like in Chinese restaurants where the sticky rice is soft and you can separate it with a little effort. This was rock hard and I had to pick the whole thing up and bite into it like an apple. Most people were there for the phở. The grilled chicken with sticky rice dish was fine but I did wish I ordered the phở instead. The service is where they made up for the rice. The servers were attentive and polite. Our waters were refilled without having to ask and the check came quickly and was taken care of quickly.

Passing the area at lunch time, while in the area on business. Let me start by saying that I have wanted to try Vietnamese food for some time but have shied away for reasons that are not for this venue. Well today is the day I decided to move forward and try it. Much to my delight I love it. How foolish have I been all these years. I would love to give 5 stars but I’ll explain the 4 stars in a minute. Since it was my first time with Vietnamese food I asked the waiter for a little help. He was very accommodating and suggested the house special lunch. House special is pork, beef, and shrimp with noodles and vegetables. I already said I loved it but let’s say it again for emphasis. The price. — $ 9.50. Unbelievable Now for the 4 stars… $ 20 minimum for credit cards. Very difficult for a new person to spend more than $ 20 for lunch although I might try. Since I was in the area on business paying with a credit card is almost a must for record keeping. Managment please reconsider this. If I’m in the area I will definitely be back but if not this place has helped me find a great ethnic food that I have been missing out on for years.

Stopped in here for dinner after my flight in to White Plains/Westchester County Airport. I was coming down with a cold or something and wanted some Phở Ga to help fight off the plague. I ordered the Summer Rolls and a bowl of Phở Ga. The Summer Rolls came out in short order. They were stuffed with what appeared to be iceberg lettuce, along with the other ingredients. Texture wise, the rice paper was overly chewy and the temperature of the rolls leaves me to believe they had been pre-made and were sitting in very cold storage — cold enough that the lettuce texture-wise was almost frozen. Not very good. Then the Phở came out. It looked good. The plate of aromatics looked good, except for the Basil, which was slightly wilted. I then tasted the chicken broth. It had almost no flavor. I added all of the ingredients: lime wedge, basil, jalapeños, and bean sprouts — and a good amount of Sriracha sauce. The chicken was tender and the broth was steaming hot — those are the only two positive things I can say about the bowl of Phở Ga I was served. The gentleman who took my order asked me how it was. I was honest and told him that the broth had almost no flavor. His response was that it is a chicken broth. I don’t understand that — as I’ve had some outstanding, delicious, flavorful chicken broths at other Phở joints. Service was attentive and good. Maybe you’ll have better Phở experiences here with the other non-chicken Phở’s?

I passed by for some phở and I was very happy, great service and a delicious bowl of steaming hot beef phở. The broth was very flavorful and plain delicious.

Came here and had for the first time Vietnamese food. The space is pretty small but by the looks of it all, it’s definitely authentic home made Vietnamese food. And I loved it!!! I can’t wait to try it out again soon. The service was very good. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The prices vs quality and size are great too. I really look forward to trying most of what they have on their menu :)

Went here on a cold frigid night. What better way to warm up than to enjoy a nice hot bowl of phở. My wife and I had spring roles to start and I ordered my usual house special phở. The quality is consistent and the food comes out fairly quickly. So why 4 stars and not 5. Compared to other Vietnamese restaurants relative to queens and Manhattan, the prices are higher than usual, the quantity is less, and the phở isn’t as authentic. But since there aren’t many Vietnamese restaurants in Westchester, it saves you the drive and hassle of going through tolls. For some reason the heat isn’t turned up enough so it can get a little cold in the restaurant so bring a sweater or jacket.

I love everything about this restaurant. The decoration totally owns. You can see several pictures and paintings of Vietnamese traditional dress. Even the color of wall painting reminds me of my home country. I and two friends ordered fried squids but lemme tell you it’s totally Vietnamese style, not regular calamari. I will recommend you guys House special with vermicelli, House special Phở and Rice with grilled pork chop. The clear brown/orange sauce thag they serve with main dishes is fish sauce so it’s fishy but try adding just two spoons in your dish and the taste will stun you deeply. Five stars!

Very tight place, you are basically sitting so close to the other table that it’s awkward. Service was okay. I was excited to try this place with my boyfriend but as soon as we go in we were so shocked at how small it was, then we got seated in the middle which was extremely tight, did not have much space to even put my cellphone or glasses on the table. The phở was bland as well as the spring rolls. The viet coffee was okay though. Would I give it another shot? Probably not, I tried better places.

Saigonese is a plain restaurant in a small space. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable. We were really excited to try more Vietnamese food after a recent excellent Vietnamese meal in Philadelphia. We were not able to duplicate the experience. The shrimp spring rolls were bland, more texture than flavor. The peanut sauce that they were served with wasn’t enough to give the dish pizzazz. We split an order of brisket phở. I liked it, but the cilantro in it turned my wife off. Next we tried the clay pot salmon with caramel sauce. The fish was OK. The caramelized onions and peppers were OK. Finally, we tried the chicken Saigonese style. The chicken breast was good, as was the sticky rice. The bathroom is as narsty as advertised. We were disappointed with our meal at Saigonese, but it may be due to our inexperience with the cuisine.

Decided to try Phở today since we were in the White Plains area to hit the H-Mart. Started out meal with shrimp spring rolls. These are a cold dish with rice shrimp, lettuce and mint leaves. Really good and flavorful. We both ordered the Phở with beef brisket. As far as Phở goes, pretty decent. On par with Qs in Norwalk. A very light and clean broth and the ingredients were very fresh and the blending of flavored was the perfect mix. Overall a pretty decent place and would come back again.

I wanted to stop by Saigonese for a while. Unfortunately I missed out in their long running Groupon and had to pay full price, and it was pretty expensive. Something like 70 bucks for 2 rice dishes, a phở, an app, tax and tip. That said, the food was quite nice and the papaya and beef jerky app in particular was one of the best things I’ve tasted in a while. Would probably go back again.
