Food was horrible! Service was ok. Sushi chef guy and women were nice, main guy there was a dick. Problem was the food though! Quality of the meat was awful! Even the fried rice was bad, how do you even ruin fried rice!!!

I’m not a sushi snob. I love simple utilitarian type spots like Fuji-Ya and they always deliver. The new«crazy spicy» sushi options are deep fried. I also rely on the Boston has cooked crispy salmon. The sushi is solid and the crisp added from these two took me on the texture roller coaster I love to ride. If you like spicy make sure to ask for extra spicy. The spicy yellow fin has nice heat but all the other spicy options will need a extra kick for the fire eater in you. They make the orders quickly and I have never encountered a loose roll here. Thumbs up and 4 stars for a place that would have many more reviews if they weren’t in sleepy little Norridge.

Found a new gem in the Harwood Heights area!!! Their golden shrimp is the bomb!!! Very friendly staff and probably they noticed it was our first time, they offered as a sample of the asparagus beef roll!!! It was delicious… Definitely will come back here and bring my family and more friends over!!!

Best filet mignon hibachi EVER! No other places I’ve tried over the years compare. Medium rare. Each bite is tender, juicy, properly seasoned. The mushrooms, mixed vegetables, miso soup, and house ginger salad make a satisfying meal. Over two decades, I appreciate the quality of service and food the family has provided. The interior design is serene with interesting levels of art pieces, photos of guests, and yester-yore WWF wrestlers make interesting conversation. Basic cable tv in one corner. So if you were here to watch the Cubs fulfill the Back to the Future destiny, sorry, no TBS. This is a great neighborhood spot. Not sure where to dine after shopping and enjoy enjoy comforting Japanese and Korean cuisine? This is the place to go. Ice cold beer and chilled glasses await you for the first refreshing sip. Hot tea never bitter was soothing. Surprisingly my oldest child drank without sweetener. Don’t expect a show when ordering hibachi because there is no view. My family dines here for the savory hot meals. Our place for golden shrimp. But WOW! A taste of the golden scallop is now a must try. It was the best seared scallop with blanketing golden sauce. Eat it right away or you will miss that perfect balance of crispy sear, salt, sweet, heat, meat tenderness, creamy sauce amalgamate in the first one bite. Yes, the sushi. The Sake-kawa roll can be a satisfying meal for one or share as an appetizer. Salmon skin with a remaining attached small layer of salmon meat fried to the right texture of crispness. The roll is sliced into pieces. The pieces, I had to finish each in two bites. I liked the texture of sushi rice. I would definitely recommend and order again. I had no need for soy sauce or wasbi. Will return.

Everything Freshly made right infront of you it’s a very nice and clean place. The califonia rolls are delicious and the staff is really friendly. They have really yummy Umaki rolls and have really nice and spicy tuna nigiri which is really good, the location is real nice and parking isn’t bad either they also offer flavored sake which is a real nice plus.

This restaurant is great, we have been going there for years. The atmosphere is good, service attentive, and the food superb. The best beef udon I have ever had! The sushi is wonderful and the chef often chats with you while he makes your rolls. You can tell the owners care for their customers, a must try!

Had the Filet Mignon Teriyaki Style! I was a little skeptical at first seeing how low key it is… Once the salad and Asparagus Beef Rolls came out I was instantly having a party in my mouth! Best Ginger dressing! Best Teriyaki Sauce!

I just got home from this place and am stuck on the couch in a food coma. Although it seems like the AYCE price went up from 18.95 $(what I’ve read in previous reviews) to 23.95 $, I still think it was worth it. My bf has lived in the area for a few years and I’m kind of baffled as to why we’ve waited soo long to try it. Finally some good Japanese food around here! I started with the miso soup and golden shrimp. Both were great! I grew up on hibachi from Ron of Japan in northbrook and am addicted to their shrimp w/egg sauce so I’m elated to find it closer and a bit cheaper. For rolls I went with a philly roll, a crazy California roll, and a crazy shrimp roll. All were soo fresh tasty but the philly was probably my favorite. And I kinda wish I got the sweet potato roll instead of the crazy shrimp cuz it was really similar to the crazy california. For dessert we got mango mochi which I think were only okay, kinda doughy for my liking. The service was really polite, helpful, and attentive. All in all I’m extremely happy I came here and already can’t wait to go back.

I thought for sure I had written a review of this place before and shame on me… this is by far one of my favorite«dive» sushi spots in Chicagoland. I only say«dive» to mean, this is a strip mall sushi spot– not a dressy place like Nobu– you get my drift. My first job out of college was at the Hyatt ORD and I lived in Schiller Park– this sushi place used to be in an even smaller like closet space… seriously with only enough room for the sushi bar. They expanded here and although the area is not LOVELY– let me tell you– the sushi is awesome. If you like spicy tuna and want the best version on the planet– and one that is not a mayo type sauce– order«special spicy tuna». OMG. THANKMELATER. It is to die for. The sashimi is fresh — large portions. the staff is very quiet and unassuming, they aren’t in your face and somewhat seem distant but hey you are there for the food. You won’t regret it.

Great food. Price is ok which ranges from 8.00 to 45.00 with a variety of selections. The place is clean and plenty of parking. Only complaint I wish the place was bigger. They also serve steak and I could see it more relying on the catering side of business which I dont know. But a great place to have sushi, cucumber salad, and a glass of water on a monday night. By the way, I liked how the chef prepared the salad like an artwork.

Pretty impressed. I rank this as one of my two top fave sushi places(see my previous review on New Tokyo). Hubby and I went here at around 7pm on a Friday night. Eventually, all tables were filled and their sushi bar area seating was filling up quickly too. Two waitresses rocking it! Hubby and I chose the $ 18.95 pp buffet option. GREAT option. You can mix and match up to 4 items(incl appetizers!) this place serves alcohol too! Not to sound stereotypical for what I am about to say(because I too, am part asian), but there is definitely different quality when japanese people are making the sushi. It is so true though. I could never make authentic tasting anything if taught it(sushi, italian, chinese, etc). One star deducted(it will be a positive type star deduction), but they should open a bigger restaurant! Love it here!!!

The service is wonderful, attentive and prompt. Very good quality sushi. AYCE sushi & appetizers($ 18.95 per person) is a must do! I had the garlic golden shrimp & shrimp shumai for appetizers. Scallop Onion Roll, Crazy Shrimp Tempura Roll, Spider Roll, Aka-Gai(Red Clam) sashimi and Faq Tai(Red Snapper) sashimi. All delicious! My love had the Chicken Bulgogi. It was tasty, however being a huge Korean food lover, I felt it was lacking the authenticity. They offer several Japanese beers, wine and standard sodas. Caution: Plum wine may cause diabetes. Make sure you order what you can eat and don’t try to sneak some of your AYCE sushi & apps to the person next to you, as they watch you like a hawk! And they are not shy to put you on front street. Lol. All in all I am glad I took a chance on their AYCE option(as they do not have a website or place to view the AYCE menu). If you are anything like me, you want to know your options before venturing out to a restaurant to shell out your hard earned cash. So I have provided a few pics of the current AYCE menu. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I bid you a happy, fulfilling dining experience! :-D

We went back last weekend for their All-You-Can-Eat Sushi special as promised in my last review. What an experience. A bonus for me and a cost saver for my boyfriend that our favorite appetizer, the aspara maki is included. Unlimited green tea, appetizers, nigiri, rolls and 2 mochi ice cream desserts for $ 52. Oh my, you’re not going to get that quality or service anywhere else in this immediate area.

They have now added an AYCE Option to compete with a local assembly line sushi spot, and of course Fuji Ya blows the other place away time and time again! This is a Family Place with 2 brothers side by side making run of the mill sushi, as well as custom creations that the OTHER place can’t come close to keeping up with. I’ve never had a meal here that even came close to average, I always leave very full, and very happy.

I’ve been going to this restaurant I think since it’s opened, & the numerous times I’ve been there, I’ve NEVEREVEREVER been dissapointed in their food. As for the new«all you can eat» when you sit down they give you both the regular menu as well as the«all you can eat» menu… I don’t eat that much(in a given meal, I normally get a chicken yakitori appitizer, 1 – 2 golden shrimp, some sort of rice, & maybe 1 – 2 plum wines. .. .. .. when I price out those 4 – 7 items in the menu… the all you can eat 19.00 is cheaper than me ordering those all by themselves!). .. . so for those of you who complain that it’s too expensive, look before you choose, you don’t HAVETO order the all you can eat, but believe me it’s WELLWORTHTHEPRICE! ! ! ! ! & that’s coming from someone who gets full easily. for those who complain the sushi rolls are«too big» Oy!!!(dramatic eyeroll) all I can say is way back when I was 16& like you guys, thought their rolls were too big for my(LOL big mouth). .. .. .. . I would ask the waitress or Joe(the owner) to please cut my sushi rolls small… he’d smirk at me(probably knowing how big my mouth really is) but he’d go ahead & cut my sushi small.. .. .. all I can say to you people is.. .. these guys aren’t psychic… if you want small sushi rolls TELLTHEM. they can’t read your mind, & complaining about it after the fact is wrong & rude. their food/sushi/rolls/etc. etc. etc. etc. is amazing & to complain that your mouth isn’t big enough to handle the wonderfully generous portions the give is rude. I for one would prefer generous portions than charging me a lot of money for teeny tiny sushi rolls. I can’t say enough good things about Fuji Ya… I’ve gone there for over a decade & their food is the best I’ve had.…(& I’ve tried over 50 different Japanese food restaurands) I’ve moved to the east coast, & I dearly wish I could pay Joe & his family to move to the east coast so I could have his wonderful food(I swear I can’t find Japanese food ½ as good as Fuji Ya out here… so whenever I make it back to Chicago the first place I head to as soon as I step off the plane is Fuji Ya) Cherish this amazing eatery people… otherwise… I swear, one day I’ll eventually bribe Joe to move out east with me… :) ;) :) ;)

I love hibachi style steak and the fact that they have golden shrimp makes this a home run! Plus the main waitress is a candy crush saga master!!!
