Szechuan Express

I went here a couple weeks ago after a job interview in the area. I had some rice and some chicken and broccoli. The food was pretty good given that it’s in a food court. The cashier was really nice and we had a nice conversation. It’s a lot better than subway etc.
I’d go back to this place if I happen to be in the same food court.

Gross, overpriced and cash only.
Beef lo mein and a soda (mostly ice) = $ 8.48!!! I get that it’s in a city, but wow…
Cash only — I don’t really carry cash unless I know I’m in going to somewhere that does not take credit cards. I did not figure one of those places would be in a food court in the middle of Hartford! Thankfully, my friend had a couple dollars to spare as I came up short.
The beef lo mein — I beleive the beef was cooked to order as it took a couple minutes. The beef was actually decent. The lo mein was extremely greasy. I picked out and ate the beef and tossed out the rest of my nearly $ 9 meal…
Should have known as there was a line at every other restaurant in the food court except this place…

Beef and peas are ok. Fried rice needs improvement. I didn’t order from the buffet, it looked VERY old. But the food I got was hot so I know I won’t get sick. OR so I thought. That night I got sick. Not full up food poisoning but it was close. NEVER AGAIN!!! STAY AWAY!!!

Gross. Pretty sure they were serving leftovers from the day or 2 before. Mushy, Bland. and CASH ONLY, but no sign.
Especially in a food court with other options, not sure how they are still in business.

The food from the buffet — unless it comes right out — tends to be a bit overcooked. Its mediocre at best. Nice staff and nice chef.
What you may not know is that they will make some dishes FRESH for you. Things like Beef with Broccoli. That actually tends to be pretty good on a cooked-​to-​order basis. So, my three stars are for the fresh dishes. Otherwise, you get what you’d expect out of a food-​court Chinese food place.

Disgusting! After eating moes everyday I decided to try something new at the food court. Bad idea! Chicken and broccoli was overcooked, mushy and covered in sickeningly sweet sauce — paired with lo mein with the cooks hair in it. Thanks for nothing. Will never go back
