I’m happy this place exists downtown, and it is cute and inviting. However, my experience with lunch has been inconsistent. Typically, the sandwiches and soups are quite good, but sometimes the high-ons behind the counter botch the execution and subsequently sport a surly attitude.(Don’t get me wrong – I have no problem with friends of the kind, rather those who can’t do their jobs after partaking of its charms). For example, I twice ordered a grilled cheese that was delivered with burnt toast(if I was running the food, the customer would never have seen this). Upon asking for a remake, I once was asked whether I couldn’t just scrape the offending layer off. I replied, «I suppose, but no.» The counter-person reluctantly agreed to a redo. I hardly ever go here, even though I dig supporting local places, and this brand of willful ineptitude is part of the reason why.
Good coffee and the breakfast sandwich was good. The shop was cute but not comfy or warm. Mostly just tables and chairs and though there were not many people there a number of tables were sitting with dirty plates.

This is Hattiesburg’s perfect lunch spot. The food is always great… mostly soups and sandwiches. You order at a counter, so I can’t really speak for the staff. The Depot also has great coffee. My favorites are the lobster melt and the tuna sliders. I’ve probably eaten here a dozen or so times and have yet to be disappointed.

Prompt, friendly service. The egg, sausage and jalapeño cheese breakfast as good but I thought some salsa or heat would make it near perfect. The ham, egg and brie sandwich was very good but my wife said the ham had a deeper smoke flavor last visit. We live 2 hours away but have friends living here who said they have the best tasting coffee EVER!

I really like The Depot. They have a nice selection of healthy options and indulgences. Portions are not very generous and price is a little on the high side for what you get. But the staff has always been friendly, the food tastes good, facilities are clean, and they’re in a great location for enjoying Hattiesburg and walking downtown. I would recommend trying this place whether you’re visiting or are a resident.

Great quality and cute atmosphere with decent prices. This place could easily be a gem in Hattiesburg. I was impressed with their wasabi bacon potato salad and would definitely recommend it to others. I was disappointed in the smoked Gouda grits as I was expecting it to be more flavorful, but it was bland — the same goes for the pork sliders: excellent quality but was dry and needed more sauce or spread. I would try their homemade cider or other unique drinks next time I go.

Love this place. It’s probably my favorite place to eat in Hattiesburg. I’ve never ordered anything that wasn’t amazing. Also, they serve individually brewed cups of Counter Culture coffee, which I love. Things I order over and over: Blueberry pineapple muffins Biscuit muffins Both of the breakfast sandwiches Cheese grits Pork tenderloin sliders Grilled cheese with tomato basil soup Wasabi potato salad I didn’t order the $ 4 yogurt with granola for a long time because I’m like, «I can have granola and yogurt at home for like a few pennies». But it stayed on the menu, so I tried it and decided it was worth $ 4. I’m still trying to replicate the granola at home. I think it has molasses and butter in it. And the yogurt must be either organic or whole-milk or both, which is hard to find in Hattiesburg grocery stores. It was delicious.

Efficiency and quality. Two of the key ingredients of a successful bistro. This establishment was good but not great six months ago, and a quick management change and the addition of a new kitchen chef made the world of difference. Brilliant changes in the menu, committed baristas and intelligent design makes this a gem in my city. Well played.

This little gem is full of character, excellent coffee and incredible food. It is popular with the lunch crowd downtown. There are lunch specials daily and I was told they are now serving breakfast! If you are in downtown Hattiesburg, this is a great spot to stop and grab a delicious bite to eat! The owner is on site and the service is fantastic!

Probably my favorite place in Hattiesburg. The chicken salad sandwich was phenomenal and the blueberry lemonade was definitely the best lemonade I’ve ever had. Super relaxing and inviting ambiance. Definitely a spot you can bring your laptop and get some wok done. I’ll be back… a lot.

I had the lump crab grilled cheese from the lunch menu… simply amazing! No skimping on ingredients from this bistro! There are several«healthier» side options(no fries –woohoo!) So don’t worry about indulging a bit ;) Great environment, friendly staff… nothing negative to say!

This is an A+ establishment in the heart of the historic city. The interior is very nice and the employees are very helpful with helping to choose a meal.

The coffee is totally fine. Weird ambience inside though — why the fancy linen tablecloths? Another place in Hattiesburg that is sort of four things at once.

FANTASTIC. My favorite GOTO spot for lunch with a girlfriend on a weekday. My recommendations: smoked gouda grilled cheese with crabmeat or bacon, tomato soup, wasabi potato salad(ask for extra wasabi!), wedge salad. I also love a scoop of what they call chicken salad but which is more like a delicious baked chicken pulled from the bone then mixed with a teensy bit of mayo and some roasted red peppers. It’s great in the tomato soup! I love to sit upstairs with a view of the lunch crowd or to sit outside on a beautiful day. Service is excellent and it’s totally gourmet for Hattiesburg with reasonable prices. Their dinner pairings are not to be missed but you have to reserve and pay for those early or you’ll miss out as they’re not open for dinner. An absolutely great place to take visitors or people who’ve never been. Wonderful!

Mocha with two types of chocolate is heavenly! The ambience here is good too. They serve food here which smelled amazing, but I had just eaten somewhere else so can’t really comment on that.

I eat here literally everyday. Sour cream and cheddar biscuits are the bomb, service is awesome– it’s like the coffee version of Cheers… Where everyone knows your name/and your drink order/and loves to hear about your life. I love it and you will too.
