Magic Tomato

My fiancé’ loves pizza and had been craving a deep dish pizza. A quick Internet search pointed us to Magic Tomato. I ordered an 8 inch Chicago-​style Sicilian pizza for pick-​up. The box was heavy and warm. Before enjoying the pizza, we couldn’t help but notice the depth of the pizza and the perfectly melted cheese. The first bite was everything that I had remembered from my first deep dish experience at Chicago pizzeria. My fiancé said it was right on and was exactly what he was looking for. The amount of meat was more than we had expected. The only disappointment was that someone had left the wrapping on one of the sausages, so every bite ended with us pulling the paper out of our mouths. The manager wasn’t in, but I spoke with the chef who agreed to remedy the situation in a way that was pleasing to us. We will definitely be back.

I completely disagree with the other review (er). The lasagna here is terrific and so are the calzones. The sauce they use on both is delicious and much better than similar meals/​sauces I’ve had in NYC and Chicago. I remember waiting a bit for refills on my beverage, but the service overall was courteous and attentive. Just go try the lasagna, I think you will agree with me.
