Mellow Mushroom

All of the pretty bad reviews aren’t recent and sadly I avoided this mellow mushroom because of the poor reviews and that it always seems dead. So I decided to take a chance on it and try it out for myself.
It was good olé mellow mushroom. Pizza was delicious just like the other ones I dearly love as well as their spinach dip. Service was great and friendly. Sad that this location doesn’t seem as popping as the ones in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Give it a try. Totally worth it.

I will admit this can be expensive if you have a big family. but I enjoy it frequently. the pizza is great it’s the only pizza I’ve ever eaten that didnt give my chest pains or heartburn afterwards. the staff is helpful once you’ve become a regular. but the music is weird. lol

We were traveling through Hattiesburg, MS and craving Pizza. We were so happy we ended up at Mellow Mushroom. They have quality ingredients and so many great options. This restaurant even has healthy options (Gluten free, vegan, etc). We got 2 pizzas and a salad. I loved everything we ordered. You can’t go wrong with the Philosopher’s pie and the Magical Mystery Tour. It may take a few extra minutes to get your pizza but its because they are making you a wonderful fresh pizza! Defineteley will go back there and recommended it 100%

Pizza is good but service is always so bad. Servers seem to all be absent-​minded college students.

Mellow Mushrooms need to find consistency in their franchise. This one was god awful… Must exlpain why no one was there. The spinach salad was good with their signaute dressing (this is why they got 2 stars) the pizza sucked as well as the service.

I give you 3 stars because after Hurricane Isaac, I was sick of waiting in line just to get gas and water so we packed up the kids and drove the hour and a half to Hattiesburg. Along the way we a see a sign for Mellow Mushroom Pizza… alas something everyone likes… pizza.
We walk in and sat right away and aaaaah they have A/​C (this was a luxury in most places close to home at this point). We sat down, ordered some cheesy garlic bread. There was enough for all 5 of us to have 2 small pieces. In other words a good size order. Then we ordered 2 medium pizzas; 1 cheese and the other a supreme (they had some groovy hippie-​esque name for it that I can’t at present time remember). The toppings were plentiful and seemed of decent quality. The crust was mediocre at best. Not really thin and not really thick, it lingered in the middle. That’s the most important part of the pizza and it was their worst quality.
I was still happy then the bill came. 23.00 for a medium supreme pizza!!! I could understand this price had my mushrooms been of the psychedelic variety. (although tripping here may be scary!). Too expensive for mediocre pizza but you still get 3 stars because you are OK, but totally not Holy Shiitake good.

We ordered a pizza and wings. Pizza was very grease and the wings where wet almost like they had been Microwave .

We ordered a pizza and hoagie. The pizza was good and as expected. The hoagie was not prepared correctly with the correct sauce on the chicken. When we notified the waitress, instead of offering to remake it correctly, she brought us a container of sauce that we could add to the sandwhich. The waitress was horrible. We had our toddler with us. She placed everything, including a HOT pizza, directly in front of his high chair and directly ON TOP OF his plaemat. She basically brought us pizza and left. We had to alert her for refills, alert her about the hoagie being incorrect, alert her about needing a to go box, and alert her about needing the ticket. Basically if we wanted anything, we had to go find her and ask for it.
We were there at 2 pm on Saturday. The resturant was not full. She was busy with other tables and later a couple at the bar. The entire time we were there, another employee was there folding pizza boxes. There were three men behind the bar area making food.
If she was overbooked, why did another employee not help out? What was pizza box folder doing?
Servie needs major improvement.

The waitress was outstanding great and friendly. But the placed stank of old socks, piss and sewage. I will not be going back to this location

I love the food at Mellow Mushroom and, although this particular location is almost always cold as a meat locker, the food is good. However, the three star rating is due to a recent trip to the bar to celebrate with a buddy over a few beers. We both noticed the smell of raw sewage wafting over the bar. The bartender tells us it happens in the summer because an important waste trap was omitted during construction. Don’t sit near the bar unless you have a taste for sewage!

Expensive for what you get. No quality control. Great one time next horrible!

This Mellow Mushroom is much like all its other locations, but that’s a good thing. Went for the first time after they opened, on a Sunday at lunchtime. They have been open for less than two weeks, but everything seemed to be going pretty smoothly, and even though they were very busy, it did not take long to get a table. The service was decent, but we did have a serious problem. One of the three pizzas at our table went «missing» — no clue as to whether the kitchen forgot to make it, or the server forgot to put it in the system, but we waited forever for a pizza that never came. The manager was extremely professional and responsive about the whole situation, however, and once she was alerted to the problem, she made sure we got the pizza double quick and that we were comped for it. It was an irritating situation, of course, but we could not have asked for a more agreeable outcome. The satisfactory resolution of the problem went a very long way towards salvaging our business, and we will definitely go back — because after all, it was Mellow Mushroom and it’s just about the best pizza anywhere!
