Nothing more to say than Corn Beef Hash. Best ever. Everything else is good diner food. Very typical but good. The corned beef hash is the big winner. Get it!

They technically open at 530am although the man let us in early since we were at the door. Coffee piping hot and breakfast selections were plentiful as were the plated foods when they arrived at our table. Eggs omelets were large, amount of home fries /French fries were great and they refilled the coffee/tea without being asked. Customer service A+, the place ws clean, the bathrooms were clean and well functioning. There were delicious looking pastries on the counter for the unconcerned with carbs/calories to delight their palate. Parking is ample. Once you pull out of lot though you must travel about ½ mi to make a u turn to get back on the highway. Other then that this place is great!

This might sound strange to some, but I go here before or after a celebration or special event… for that reason, this diner always has a small piece of my heart. The diner is busiest during breakfast and dinner times(I know big surprise). Ownership and the people that work here are great.

My wife and I like the breakfeast dinner was just average. Friendly staff and owner.

This is, by far, the best diner. If you have Mona as you’re server, you’re golden! The food is delicious, the people are incredibly nice, and the atmosphere isn’t depressing. It’s a win win!

We wanted some place near and quick after a hike at Blydenburgh Park. The entire waiting team seemed to be having a bad day. All emotionless expression in face and I tone. I don’t think I will be visiting.

Came here with my brother for a 3AM late night breakfast and was super disappointed. He ordered a Belgian waffle with ice cream and whipped cream which he loved(but later regretted as he had the shits) but he also ordered an egg cream and I’m never tasted one before but I think it’s safe to say it isn’t supposed to taste like that. It tasted like flat chocolate soda. I ordered french toast with sausage and it was freaking huge — a huge portion and a huge disappointment. The french toast tasted almost sour. The prices were average but next time I’ll just stick with the O-Co-Née and deal with the sourpuss owner throwing nasty cookies on the table.

It may seem difficult at first, but the right pronunciation for this diner is ‘Hop-Og’.We discovered this place on our way to Port Jefferson. The diner is just like any other diner in small towns and has the seem feel to it. The staff is warm and greets with a smile. The food tastes average: we ordered a pasta dinner which came with a choice of soup or salad with a main dish of pasta. We had rice n tomato soup which I thought was extra creamy and a veggie pasta with a light butter sauce which was also quite heavy.

I’ve lived in Hauppauge for two years now and I’ll go to this diner only if a friend suggests it as a meeting area. The service and food are average for diners on Long Island, and I’d much prefer the one up the road. Not a bad choice, but not my first out of the nearby diner options.

Food here is as good as it gets for LI Diners — which is very, very good. Great selection, food is very fresh, good service. In my top 5.

My girlfriend and I discovered this place in 2014 and the food was great. We went back this weekend and the food was still great. I had the hash and 2 eggs. The hash is homemade and some of the best I have ever had. The homefries are real potatoes fried up real nice. My girlfriend had the breakfast quesadilla, which had eggs, sausage and cheese. It came with sour cream and salsa, in addition to breakfast potatoes. She had to bring some of it home there was so much. When I am in town again I will be coming back again.

This place is exactly what I would call an authentic diner! Come here when traveling back home to long Island and crave their breakfast sausage. I have enjoyed rubens, pastrami, and breakfast items here and have not been disappointed. There are fewer diners on long Island every year, and this little gem is the prime of the pack.

I have been here for lunch and dinner. The menu is like your average diner. The paninis are great and the steak sandwich is really good. Service was good during busy lunch time. The waitress was very nice and the place was clean and kept up well.

I ordered the stuffed french toast, which came with cream cheese and my choice of preserves. I picked cherries. Upon taking the first bite it tasted like a dirty dish rag. I’ve never had to send back food before and I absolutely hate doing it. So upon starting from the other side it was better, so I just avoided eating that whole half, to avoid sending it back. But it seriously ruined my appetite. Service was great, although at 2 different times, 2 waitresses were standing behind the counter with their arms folded, looking beyond pissed off.

Can’t really go wrong with this place at 4:00am any night of the week. I would suggest you keep it light lol but then again I always opt for the Texas burger, which is essentially a bacon cheeseburger with an egg sunny side up!!!

I won’t be checking into this run down, classless restaurant following tonight’s meal. First, an encounter with a lucid, incoherent waitress who literally forgot I was sitting there; likely intoxicated or mentally ill but not suitable to serve customers. Following that, a disgusting turkey burger sandwich that aggravated me beyond measure; it was a total mess, noticeably rushed together with partially skinned, unripe avocados and paired with a block of white lettuce. Not to mention it fell apart the second I touched it… Look, when I’m this hungry, I’d almost be inclined to eat whatever but don’t make the event a chore and create additional work for me when I get there. I’m expecting a well presented, decent meal for my money’s worth just like any patron would. One that I can hold together and enjoy; fresh(or semi fresh.) ingredients and service with a smile. Whether the Four Seasons or a hick town plague like this one, the principles relating to a quality dining experience are universal as far as I’m concerned. Do your damn job. …Finally, after sending it back uneaten and reassured it was removed from my check, the manager thought he was stealthy charging me 7.95 $ for the small side salad that came with it. I respectfully refused to pay being that I felt grossly taken advantage of. And granted, it may be a petty matter of a few bucks but letting them get away with such lousy customer service is something I won’t be obliged to deal with. After senselessly debating over their overhead costs and how«I should be appreciative», you already know I wasn’t giving them a single dollar. He said, «We could call the police?» and I said, «Certainly, get them in here so they can arrest you for being so unapologetically stupid». That ended the argument and I was on my way with a «goodbye and thank you.» But what I wouldn’t have done was write this review, especially if my gratitude for the removal wasn’t met with more under-the-breath hostility; could’ve given them a second chance perhaps.

Went here again after a decent experience with friends. It was cheap, had large portions, and the food I got wasn’t totally horrible. My friend and I were hungry so we thought to give this place another shot. Basically, to start we were served stale bread and half frozen chicken wings for free. Thank God we didn’t have to pay because it was absolutely disgusting. Like, to the point where even looking at it was nauseating. Then the meals came. I got the bleu cheese burger and fries. The meal came with cole slaw and a pickle. The cole slaw clearly was not fresh but that’s passable as I wasn’t expecting much. The burger and fries were terrible. The fries tasted like they just came out the frozen bag and microwaved for a few minutes, they tasted cheap, stale, and dreadfully frozen. The burger was cooked fine, it seemed, but it was bland, burnt on the outside and also had a slight taste of freezer burn. My friends also got burgers and fries and all had the exact same experience. All in all prices were decent at best but the food was not even slightly passable. There are far better diners on the island. Do yourself the favor and go somewhere else nobody deserves such horrible food.

Don’t let the local road construction stop you from coming here this place is worth an extra turn or two. Came at 9:30 on a Saturday night with 5 people and were sat at a big round table with room to spread out and not have your elbows in someone’s potato salad. We ordered a range a food from pancakes to triple deckers and it all came out together at the same time. Food was very good diner food and price was more reasonable than some of the other diners in the area,

it was late in the evening and we were hungry lows on funds… ok its eggs potatoes and toast and what better place to get a hearty filling meal such as this but a diner we came upon this glowing in the night diner its very typical Long Island Diner its big with booths and tables standard junk game machines in the foyer(I hate these because kids ask for money and I can buy this junk cheaper at the dollar store) we sit in a booth Big Tvs all around I have mixed feelings on the big TV trend in a dining establishment I tend to get distracted so I am looking past my dinner partner and looking at the TV big spiral bound menu filled with everything… as these diners go very friendly waitress is right over we order our eggs and potatoes and toast we leave full and happy prices a tiny bit higher on our eggs I see ranges of 4.00 to 6.75 this one comes in midway I could come back if I were in the area

The food gets 1 star. The server was nice — she earns this place another star. Three of us headed to Hauppauge Diner after July 4th fireworks. It was late and not much else was open. One of my friends(Queens native) also said he used to love this diner when he went to school around there. Hey, it is a diner — at least it will be cheap, right? Wrong. What the hell, Long Island? I left here paying $ 20 for a meal I ate 50% of. I got what I thought was a chicken sandwich with fries. I switched out the swiss for mozzarella. I also added jalapenos to the chicken sandwich. The server wrote all this down without comment. A friend also ordered a side of fries and a milk shake. The side of french fries was $ 5−6…at a diner, this seems borderline insane even for Long Island. The milk shake was $ 6 and came in a small plastic Pepsi-type glass. The french fries and milk shake were decidedly average. When my food arrived, I was very confused. It was actually a small piece of chicken covered in cheese + what must have been approx a million jarred jalapeño slices — the whole thing was on top of a pita. I misread the menu. I assumed that something listed on a page titled sandwiches was a sandwich and didn’t read the whole description. My bad. My food was just okay. There were also greasy and undercooked onions under the cheese. The pita was incredibly soggy from the steam of the hot chicken — I didn’t touch it. There were WAY too many jalapenos. I was wondering why she put so many on there. I figured that part out when the check arrived. $ 1.25 extra for jalapenos? What? Another $ 0.75 or $ 1 to simply change the cheese. My meal + a soda came to $ 20 after tip. For a subpar meal at a diner in the middle of a suburb in Long Island. I couldn’t believe it. It would have been nice for the server to confirm that I was going to get charged $ 1.25 for extra jalapenos. I guess she thought it would be okay as long as she put a million of them on my food? The server and cashier were really nice though… if that counts for anything. Next time, I will be stopping at a McDonald’s or Wendy’s instead. Better sandwich and I can save myself over $ 10.
