John Moore’s Deli

We ordered breakfast around 8:45am and it didn’t arrive until 10:30am, despite the fact that we’re only about 0.5 miles from the deli. The food was at room temperature. I purchased 3 pancakes for $ 4.99 and asked for a side of sausage, which was priced at $ 1.79. When I opened up my food, I see that they not only gave me some flat sausage patty, but they only gave me half of one!

The sandwiches and foods are okay, at least you get what you paid for and they are reasonable.
Seriously disappointed in the customer service that this place gives me.
This place told me specifically that it is $ 15 for credit card service. Not delivery. This is why I tried to keep cash as much as possible.
When I came into the store to do take out, they were like giving me a strict tone asking me to hurry up when they didn’t give that tone to other customers. It was only like 30 seconds that I had to decide too, which was a bit unfair. It took like 15 minutes until I got my sandwich, and the two people got theirs faster than I did. So I felt like I didn’t get enough time to have my sandwich for lunch break.
I’ve decided to call during the take out to save up more time on the next time I ordered. When I did, they told me 10 minutes and I was there within 15 minutes even though they said 10. Then when I was there, they weren’t ready. They told me that I have to wait for another 10 minutes. Really? I called in to do take out and gave them 15 minutes. Also when I told them my name, they were like «I don’t think we have you» at first but they checked once more and they told me that I had to wait longer. I told them that I came in at the time they told me to show up, and the worker was like, «You called in for order at the busiest time. You are gonna have to wait.» So I just didn’t have enough time to eat again.
Third time, I’ve called in for breakfast delivery, and they told me that credit card with delivery was $ 15. So I said I’ll just pay by cash. They didn’t ask further questions and they delivered the food after an hour. It was quite late, but it was fine since it was less than $ 15 where I could have paid for extra stuffs that I didn’t need.
Fourth time, I’ve called in for breakfast delivery again. The lady on the phone was extremely rude, and gave a harsh tone, and asked me to pay $ 15. And I told her that I didn’t need to pay $ 15 last time and I told her that I was notified that it was $ 15 delivery with credit card. She didn’t respond for a bit and told me that I had to pay $ 15 next time. Really? Like I have to pay $ 15? — Food was late, and half cooked. I feel like they kind of gave me a finger because I didn’t pay $ 15 and they were giving me along the message: «you didnt follow our new policy to change prices whenever we feel like it.» — also might I like to add, that they charged $ 2.50 on the delivery fee because they assumed I wasn’t going to pay the delivery fee. I gave the delivery guy $ 3.00 for a tip. I didn’t give more tip this time because they decided to charge me through the receipt instead. I have no reason to. This was my last straw.
I ate at Se-​Port Deli in Port Jefferson and they don’t do deliveries, but they always got things done and were always nice and prepared on time for take out. Since this seemed to be the most fair and good deli in my work area, I tried to order here — but this is a major disappointment.
Like I love the food here, but the way people treat customers like a grumpy harsh tone — I don’t feel like coming here. I usually give places one or three more chances depending on how they do, and this is definitely one of those places I gave several chances.

I seriously wish I could give 0 stars. A while ago my office ordered lunch from here as it was recommended. Literally 3 hours later it arrived. I understand it’s lunch in a busy area but 3 hours? When the food arrived it was warm… shockingly and I asked the delivery guy what took so long and he said they just made it. So it took you from
the time we ordered it until 2.5 hours to make 4 sandwiches? He said to call and ask for the manager and maybe get a coupon or something. Yeah, that was going to happen.
Fast forward to today. I would say probably 4 months from the last incident we figured we would give them another shot. I mean maybe they had a bad day so let’s not judge too hastily. 5 sandwiches were ordered. They called 2 times as they were confused, obviously. They seriously asked about the tip on a credit card as if it weren’t enough. It was for one person so the tip was appropriate. 2 HOURS LATER the food arrived. No wonder the disgust about the tip on the card as all orders were thrown on the card. They couldn’t have said something when they called? Not a big deal, it is what it is. They forgot most of the sides and worst of all forgot a freaking sandwich. We call and inform them they offered to credit the money as it would take a while for the sandwich. The funny thing is, they called and asked about the sandwich!!! How are you gonna call and ask about a sandwich and then forget to add it? Oh but they still charged us.
The sandwiches that were delivered were dry. Asked for brown gravy on a few and I guess they were out or just failed to add some. Maybe the menu size is too large to comprehend as they can’t keep track of what they are making.
The chicken noodle soup has a thick layer of oil on top, chicken cutlets have been half raw, the potato salad is old and sour.
Careful when you order from here, especially if you are starving. Hopefully you aren’t the only one using a debit/​credit card otherwise the entire bill falls on you. Granted there is cash to cover but still.

2^nd time June2015. I was very disappointed food was not good, trays were very light, prices very high. I feel I was taken the 2^nd time. It’s the 1^st time I ever hosted a party and ran out of food. I will never use them again nor will I ever, ever recommend them to anyone! Shame on you John!

A favorite of everyone at work. The sandwiches they make are top notch. Lines can get pretty long during lunch, so we usually go a little before or after noon. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because they sometimes screw up phone orders. I heard they now own the Vernon Valley Deli in Northport, which is awesome. My in-​laws live right there and that deli used to be disgusting. I would rather lick a toilet bowl in the port authority than walk in there. Hopefully Mr. Moore & company fixed it up.

Currently enjoying a delicious, very fresh chicken cutlet sandwich, so much better than South Wind deli down the road! This is our new favorite. Thumbs up to John Moore deli!

Ordered my lunch at 1130 AM; it didn’t arrive until 1:15PM. unacceptable! My office is less than 15 minutes away. Will NEVER order again!

I did like this deli. Until I ordered a chicken cutlet, bacon, lettuce & tomato yesterday. Why would it take 15 minutes for that? Maybe because he was microwaving the chicken? Oh yes. One small Chicken cutlet cut in 4 pieces and totally undercooked. Bacon? Not one piece, but little Bacon bits looking crumbs sprinkled on top. One lumpy piece of lettuce & tomato. Pathetic attempt at a sandwich. My friend laughed. And get a load of the disgusting gloves they never change to make food and handle money! Gross. What’s the point? No More John Moore!!!

My new favorite Deli! The staff is very friendly, the place is pretty clean, and the food is fresh and delicious. I ordered a Chicken cutlet Hero, I got a masterfully crafted work of art. Delicious toasted bread with melted cheese all the bacon you could ever want with chicken cutlet… It was my dream sandwich incarnated. I went in around 1:30 because my other place kinda disappointed me, I was pleasantly surprised with great service and an even better Hero. Fresh highly quality food, this place is nothing short of awesome.

A co worker suggested I pick up lunch from this deli today. I normally go to a different one. I hate trying new places but she raved about it so I said I’d go pick our stuff up. I am really surprised and pleased! Everything is so fresh and the hero was really soft! (Like I asked for) I’m really picky and most places just yes me to death and my order ends up wrong or not to my standards! I will be going here for lunch more often now!!! I love it!

Def best deli in Hauppauge. Great egg sandwiches. They actually use real chicken cutlets not huge breaded chicken breasts. I go here often and am never disappointed.

This is by far the best Deli around. The food is awesome and they do last minute catering. The line is long sometimes but it’s so worth it! Keep up the great works guys! You ROCK!

Food was awesome as usual. This place is so good that they don’t deserve bad reviews for delivery times. Call Dominos next time if this place is’nt fast enough

Great «New York» deli. This is what the rest of the country is missing. Prices look high but when you see how big the sandwiches are you’ll know why.

Very happy I found this deli. The staff is friendly and the sandwiches are some of the best of I ever had. I would recommend the turkey club and the Black Forest hero which has pastrami paired with bacon. I’ll write that again, PASTRAMI WITH BACON! Definitely worth a try.

Great deli! The specialty sandwich’s’ are really good and about the closest thing I have found to a se-​port sandwich, which I believe is the holy grail of sandwich’s. Anyway, perfect spot to grab lunch.

I only visit here a few times a year. But I really like this deli. The quality is superb. The wait is a bit long just for a hero. But it’s expected with how busy this place is during lunch. The homemade salads are great. The Macaroni salad is just sweet enough, perfectly cooked and the right amount of mayo.

This is my favorite deli in the Hauppauge Industrial area. I usually wait until about 1:30 or 2:00PM to go here since the lines are really long otherwise.
The selection of sandwiches is great and they always use high-​quality Boars Head products.
There’s a large selection of potato chips, salads and other hot items.

Good food. Really unfriendly staff. But I keep coming back because they are by far the better of the deli’s along Motor Parkway in Hauppauge.
