This place has the best Chinese food in town, my husband and I tried them all. Our favorites are sesame chicken and orange chicken. The egg rolls and shrimp rolls(basically an egg roll with a shrimp at either end) are great too. We usually eat the crab rangoons as a pseudo dessert because they’re quite sweet.(For savory crab rangoons try Canton Chinese Restaurant. It was the only thing we liked there.) We’ve also had and enjoyed the Hunan chicken, Szechuan chicken, and shrimp with mixed veggies. The fried rice is also good. The only dishes we didn’t like were the soups as they seemed to lack flavor. It’s also fun, if you order in person or get there before your order is ready, to watch them cook the food since you can see into the kitchen from the counter. Everything is cooked fresh unlike the Chinese buffets in town where it sits out for an hour or more before it gets to you. You can taste the difference especially with the breaded chicken dishes: smothered in sauce but still with that perfect amount of crispiness. The family who runs Taste of China is always very nice to us. The couple’s son is there doing his homework in the evenings and occasionally helps with translation but we’ve had no trouble communicating with the owners. Their accent is thick but that is what you would expect at a family owned and operated Chinese restaurant.
