I haven’t been to a friendlys in years, but I do have to say the food quality has gotten a little bit better. Don’t expect much from the menu. The service as mentioned from previous reviews is pretty bad.

This review applies to the ice cream take out window. Have been there twice in the last month and left because there was no one being waited on and actually 4 customers left before I did. They have great product but staff needs help

Went in for a late lunch today. We were seated at a dirty table, syrup from breakfast was still stuck on table. The table was never wiped. The booth seats had drip marks on them from a spilled beverage. Our waitress arrived and I told her the problem. She offered to move us but I declined as I could see the same dirty issues at other seats. We left the restaurant. I couldn’t eat in such a dirty environment.

We went there early Friday night and were seated promptly. That’s about the only good thing I can say. After waiting a very long time for our waitress, she finally showed up and we placed our order. While waiting, all the waitresses were moving around in chaos! Nobody seemed to know what was going on. We watched 4 of them looking under a table and one yells out GROSS! Hmmm. Burgers came after a VERYLONGTIME and mediocre at best. It didn’t appear as if any management were around. We will never go back. Too bad this establishment has tanked. I’ll stick to buying the ice cream in the grocery store

Oh boy. I really take no pleasure in writing this type of review but I do it for 2 reasons. So other patrons can be aware and so that the management might see it and be aware so it does not happen to someone else. The picture attached to my review explains it all. A half-alive bug on my lettuce. Now I know this is Friendlys. It’s not like I expect 5-star food or service. But I do, as most others do, expect insect-free food =(this was a quick dinner with a friend who lived up the street. Thank goodness I hadn’t bit into it yet. I put the salad aside and we brought it to the attention of our very sweet waitress who apologized. I didn’t want another salad, just for it to be taken away and not be charged for it. No manager ever came over. She did come back after and said«I can offer you a free ice cream after dinner if you’d like» which was nice, but still… I understand it was a fruit fly type bug but people, CHECK your dishes before you send them out is all.

Cleanliness: 7⁄10 Service: 10⁄10 Friendliness: 10⁄10 Food quality: 10⁄10 This establishment was 10x better than the one in Lawrence. The food was brought out in a timely manner and was prepared perfectly per our requests. The district manager was on site and was very nice and personable. The waiter and waitress were also very polite and personable. They kept the service up to par and ensured the kids were happy. Great establishment!

This place is dirty as hell!!! took a while for someone to notice we were waiting. After witnessing all the dirty tables and debris on the floor we thought it would be best not to get food here and just get some ice cream. The waitress was clearly pissed off when we told her this. Got our food and left, never ever going back.

My fiancé and I were planning to get a quick dinner and maybe some dessert. We waited by the door for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged so we decided to go to the bathrooms and come back. Once we came back we waited another 7 – 10 before someone came to greet us and show us to one of there many empty and dirty tables. The floor was so gross, there was food from the diners way before on at least 5 other tables, and other guests after Us said ew gross as they got seated. We didn’t want to have dinner here anymore so we left after just getting ice cream. We figured you can’t mess up that. The waitress was nice but clearly wasn’t pleased we only got ice cream. Guess what? You work for Friendly’s !

I’m confused by all the negative reviews this place has always been my go to with my kiddies or for a quick lunch, or evening ice cream in the summer. I’ve always had peasant service for my usual(requested) servers — Jenn or Cindy during the week. And Lisa early am’s! The food is so good and great prices for a big family like mine. The people who continue to complain but keep going back is ludacris– everyone there has been there for years so the service will stay great– the food may change up with newer chefs but it’s always amazing each time we drop in. Thank you girls for always giving my family the greatest service around town. :) There is a McDonald’s next store if your looking for faster food if your that impatient but if you looking to sit down and enjoy a dinner in a ‘family restaurant’ this is the spot!

What a nightmare. The Friendlys website said it was a $ 5.00 Bacon cheeseburger special and the Manager in the morning had said so too. When our group of 4 adults arrived we were told in a very abrupt way that we were wrong and it was just a cheeseburger special. When I showed the 2 servers the advert from their website on my phone showing the bacon cheeseburgers, they STILL argued with us that it’s not what THEIR register says. Good grief — do not tell the customer they are wrong when they show you the evidence! Wendy our waitress was sweet and apologetic but the other server was bombastic, abrasive and abrupt. I know she’s been there forever, but she really needs a customer care refresher course. The burgers arrived — all 4 of them were cold, cold, cold with burnt bacon and cold fries. Even the roll was cold! When we pointed this out we were told the burgers were hot off the grill. What nonsense! Even the cheese had not melted. Anyway, Wendy politely removed them and within 10 minutes were had 4 fresh hot burgers with fresh bacon, melted cheese and hot fries. THIS was what we should have been served in the beginning! I am so disappointed with this branch of Friendlys. To argue with us about the special when the Manager had told us that morning AND we had the advert from the Internet was unacceptable. Then to make it worse we are served old, cold burgers? That had to be deliberate. Admittedly they tried to make things right at the end, but it really left us feeling awkward. And please … give that one waitress a refresher course in how to speak gently and kindly!

I rarely come here, but my brother loves Friendly’s and wants to go whenever he gets to the U.S. We went late afternoon, so it was pretty empty. Little noisy with staff talking loudly to one another as they began to set up for the dinner service. One lady was considerably more vocal than others and kept dumping dirty wares in the bin behind our booth. Could have been a little more considerate. Started off well enough with quick seating(hostess kindly offered to drop the window shades as it was hot and sunny out) and drinks order. We thought the food order was straight forward until my niece got her burger and fries. She’s a typical teenager with very particular likes and dislikes. She ordered the Original Burger, without mayo. Our waitress, Cassie, confirmed no mayo and said it came on bread asking if that was okay. She said yes. Seems she misunderstood, as did her parents, and thought she said a bun. So when it came(delivered by two other servers, Cassie had apparently gone AWOL and left the building) the turned down face said it all. And there was mayo on it. She was going to accept it, but the staff noticed the disappointment and made her a new burger. The manager then took over serving us, and was very apologetic. Extra star for the good customer service. My sister-in-law tried the fish and chips and seemed pretty satisfied. My brother loves those super melts and gave the new honey BBQ chicken variant a try. No complaints. I opted for the veggie burger and was pleasantly surprised at the flavour and actual pieces of veg(corn, peas, peppers). No shakes or dessert as we had some awesome birthday cake at home!

No wonder this company is always teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. Three people in line for takeout, not a single employee anywhere near the front counter for a good five minutes. Group in front of me walked out after being ignored, then I did too. Off to the McDonald’s next door.

My husband and I decided to host our rehearsal dinner at Friendly’s. Our wedding was a more formal event but we thought having a casual rehearsal dinner would be better for our families. We needed a place to accomodate 50 picky eaters and the staff at Friendly’s in Haverhill were up to the challenge! The manager Ray was great and assured us that they would have enough staff to take care of us. Our guests were well taken care of and everyone loved that they could order whatever they wanted and happily ended their meals with ice cream sundaes! The total price was WAY less than any other area restaurant would have been and our friend’s and family loved it! Double Win! Thanks Ray for taking on our large group!

So I’m thinking friendlys doesn’t actually monitor this anymore and they dont really care about customer satisfaction. So this review is for my fellow patrons ^_^ Avoid this place. You can get the same quality food at the next door McDonald’s and you know it. If you want a sit down meal, head up the street to applebees or unos. It’s not worth the visit at this location. I have had consistent bad experience with the waitress Wendy, whether for dinner or attempted quick dessert. She forgets very often and takes far too long. I wrote a tip(just the tip) about her 5 months ago. Sadly neither her presence or service has changed. But the rest of the staff is only slightly more capable, although more apathetic. There were three tables in my section and all three were kept waiting, meanwhile in my line of sight, dude was texting. Cool. Now as you see, it was not a busy evening. My section was the only section. Yet my date and I were there for 45 minutes. Oh, here’s the kicker: we only ordered dessert. Well, water too, but we’ll get to that. Ok so we both ordered waters when we got there and did not receive them until we were given 1(to share i guess. How romantic!) when we were almost done eating. And guys, I always get the hunka chunka pb fudge sunday. I’m afraid to say this may have been my last. The molten peanut butter center was missing. Instead someone spooned cold peanut butter on a slightly more than thawed bundt cake. Why was nothing lava? This makes me sad. Also, instead of peanut butter drizzle, there was chocolate syrup. No. Stawp. Youre doing it wrong. Friendly’s, we had a deal. We had to ask for the check, because aside from taking our order and bringing it to us 44 mins later we were never visited. We threw bills down and left. Never to return again. And neither should you.

The flagship Sundae for Friendly’s is the Jim Dandy. I had sliders & a Fribble. YUM! I purposely left room for dessert and requested a Jim Dandy. All I got was, SORRY! WEDON’T HAVEANYBANANAS. I was SO disappointed!!! Tonight Pizza… WHATNOCHEESE? Not very good EXCUSES!!!

I like this location but I miss the one in Exeter! The food is good most of the time and the service isn’t the best but its friendlys and its wicked good. The ice cream is the best mint chocolate chip is my favorite.

So obviously with a nickname like«Queen of Pastrami™», you might figure I’d be a little picky about my pastrami. You’d be right. Now I know that nobody in their right mind would go to Friendly’s as a pastrami destination but I must say, tweren’t bad. Yes, I’ve had better but I’ve had worse from places claiming to have an «amazing» pastrami experience. So long and short of it, they’ll do in a pinch. Oh, and either the fry quality is deteriorating or it was an off night but all the more reason to reiterate that the waffle fries are well worth the $ 1 upcharge.
