OHMYGOD, this has become one of my all time favorites! The pasta is incredible, the burgers, the shrimp scampi is to die for! Service is great, and awesome lunch specials! Seriously, if you’re in the area, give them a go! Especially if you like shrimp scampi!

Had a nice dinner here the other night. Nice Italian joint with traditional red sauce items but also some nice variety. Had chicken parm which was good but I’m not a fan of sauce that is thick and taste like tomato paste which at times some restaurants do for their red sauce. The chicken was however huge and very good. Portions are BIG… My wife had the chicken saltimbocca which also was very good. Will definitely be back.

Huge servings, good food, great price. The mussels fra diavlo was very heavy on the sauce, but its a very tasty sauce. I wish I saved some of the bread to sop it up.

+: none, really -: hard to find street parking, based on to-go order only… did not pack utensils or gratuity bread, and although portion size was generous the white wine clams linguini tasted bitter/stale…maybe too much lemon? Compared to north end’s the Daily Catch this dish was abysmal! Note: the sister restaurant kreugger’s is worth checking out! The only reason Olivia’s is in business be cuz it’s supported by the profits from kreugger’s…

The veal parmagion was delicious. Our daughter had the penne a la vodka and loved it. The restaurant is very charming, it has exposed brick and large windows. Our server, Susan, was awesome. We will definitely go back VERYSOON!

My wife and I go to Olivia’s 8 – 12 times a year. The food, atmosphere, drinks and service are always fantastic. Pat and Pam are two of the servers who have been there for a long time and have always provide exceptional service and Matt at the bar makes great martinis and is great with his guests at the bar.

I had not been to Olivia’s in awhile and it used to be good. However that is no longer the case. My mom and I both got the Steak Danielle which is 14 oz we probably got about 8 oz of meat each since there was so much fat and grizzle that was inedible. I actually had to spit out my first bite since it was that disgusting. Also watch out when going there and track the lines on the menu to the price if you care about how expensive it is!

We went early for dinner on a Friday and choose to sit at the bar. The bar tender was very friendly and chatted with us. He was able to suggest drinks to pair with what we ordered. My husband had the veal parm and I had spaghetti. For the price, the food was good, certainly nothing to write home about. I would go back again and recommend going earlier as it fills up fast.

Great atmosphere and food! The wine list is small, and just ok, but who needs amazing wine that would steal the show from the simple and traditional dishes!

Olivia’s is horrible. Went for dinner last night with family that lives in the area. The service was terrible– there were ten of us, and the waitress first refused to split the check 4 ways.(I have never in my life seen a restaurant that won’t split a check– she just didn’t feel like it.) Eventually she did split the check, after arguing with me. The waitress was also very rude when someone in the party asked for no mushrooms on their meal. My drink was horrible. I have never had a worse Cosmo in my life– it was all sugar, no cranberry, and a little liquor. It was similar to drinking sugar water. What a waste! My steak was ordered medium-rare, and came well done, chewy even. Everyone had WAY too much sauce on their meal. Waitresses name was Pam. Horrible experience– will NEVER be back, and if I can help it, no one I know will ever be eating there.

This is my go to spot for sure. Whether its lunch at Krueger’s or dinner and cocktail at Olivia’s, you can’t go wrong. The Haddock Italiano is superb. Egg battered fresh(you can SO tell) pan sauteed in olive oil, then covered in their lemon wine sauce and cheese… Its Heaven. Specials are always changing & are delicious. They have a knack for just knowing what’s good. Then there’s the bar. The bartenders always make you feel welcome & are attentive. The drinks are ridiculous. Espresso martini is the the best around. Passion fruit margarita, is so good it makes you forget that there’s tequila in there. Its never been anything but a home run. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out.

My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday this past week. Parking is always a bit of a challenge in downtown Haverhill but after a certain hour this restaurant is allowed to use the private parking lot behind their building, so parking was easy and free. They in the Krueger building and is attached to the Krueger Flatbread Pizza place… very hard to walk through there without want to take a slice with you! I am going to have to go back to try the pizza next time. I would definitely go back. The service by the staff was very friendly and efficient. I liked the atmosphere of the old mill building. You can dress casual or dress up(which I had a dress on but most had jeans) and not feel out of place either way. The food was very very good. I got the haddock and it was very moist and flavorful. Just enough breading to give it flavor but not too much to make you feel like you just ate a whole stick of butter! My boyfriend got the steak and it was cooked just right. For dessert we split the chocolate lava cake with whipped cream and a scoop of ice cream… sooo good! Like I really needed the extra calories but it was too go to not eat! I say it is worth trying — I do not think you will be disappointed!

It is a cozy old fashion New England building, and dimly lit. The food is amazing. The meatballs are the size of your fist, and taste like heaven. I got the trio dish, which was pesto-alfredo cheese ravioli, veal thing, and chicken parm. I go there for date night, and go home with plenty of leftovers. Don’t just fill up on the complimentary bread, because the portions are huge!

I actually created this Unilocal account just to write a review about how dreadfully awful this place is. We had heard great things and were excited to check it out, and we love Flatbreads so it made sense that we should trust that Olivia’s would be good as well. Upon reading reviews it was a little disconcerting that all of the awards and great comments were from years past. However, we decided to venture out, passing by delicious Italian restaurants just to go to Olivia’s. We walked in and waited about 15min for a table, which on a Friday night wasn’t too bad at all. We ordered the meatballs appetizer, chicken saltimboca, and the Italian Trio. Meatballs were frozen. Saltimboca tasted like fish. The trio was horrendous to look at and attempt to eat. Boyfriend had severe stomach pains and issues the whole night. If you are younger than 70 and enjoy real Italian food outside of the North End go almost anywhere else. I would have rather eaten an Italian sub from Giovanni’s Awful. Just awful.

Another local Haverhill gem. Great Italian food and nice, cozy atmosphere. Perfect spot for a date. This basically shares the same building(and I think kitchen) as Kreuger’s. When Olivia’s is closed, Kreuger’s will usually let you get the food from Olivia’s menu at Kreuger’s. Can’t go wrong here.

Wow! Eight people party tonight and all the food was hot and great! I would recommend reservations. It was busy on Wednesday night. We would recommend Greek meatballs, lobster ravioli, grilled salmon, baked haddock, Osso bucco, rigatoni Bolognese and ravioli Olivia! Trust me I’m picky!

The waitresses are always smiling. The hostess is a peach. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, The kitchen often screws up takeout orders. The chicken parm is too salty,

Great Italian Food! The fresh, hot bread came first with olive oil and fresh garlic. We had the Chicken Marsala which was outstanding. The marsala sauce was just right, not overpowering yet not weak. We finished with a tiramisu(the best I’ve ever had) and an espresso. A wonderful dining experience, friendly staff, quality food at good prices. We’ll be back!

Good service, O. K food. Walking into the restaurant, you’ll notice is plays off of it’s location. The area around the place is very old, giving off the very ideal of a classic New England town. As is Olivia’s. The dim lighting, hardwood floors, and old time fixtures give a homely«grandfather» feeling. I enjoy this type of area a lot, but some might not. Service is pretty nice as well. Fast and prompt, with a little bit of friendly conversation to boot. Again key with me. Food, on the other hand, is average. The portions are HUGE. A plate of pasta is about the size of a large pumpkin! The taste however, is most definitely average. There isn’t anything special that jumps out when on your palate. Though I am not saying it can’t be, Olivia’s is definitely a restaurant for the older crowd. I think my group was the youngest one there. I barely noticed anyone else around my age group every close by the area.
