Only thing good at this place is the chicken. Every time I got ribs they where burnt and dryed out. Then I go there and get there new pulled pork !! Yep same thing except it came on this mega bun but dry as hell. What’s with not having wings, your a chicken place and you have chicken except wings !!!

If you like chicken this is the place to go. I’ve been going here for years now and so has my family and friends. I’ve read some other reviews that were probably from KFC lovers. There is not another place around that even comes close to Chicken Connection. KFC is terrible. I always get the chicken breasts which are huge along with a couple of sides like the Mac and cheese, stuffing or mashed potatoes. The buffalo chicken dinner is one of my favorites. I also love the chicken pies. Do yourself a favor, if you like chicken you’ve got to try this place.

This restaurant sells the most delicious chicken pot-pie ever! I bought a couple of frozen pies and baked them at home. I have bought many pot pies over the years both from grocery stores and chicken pie stores and they are all are so salty they are inedible. These are loaded with white meat, vegetables and gravy. The crust is perfection. I’ve told so many people about them that I’m afraid there won’t be any left for me next time I stop in! PS: It was the Haverhill location.

This is an appropriate rating for this place so well done Unilocalers. The food is very overrated here by the locals who play it up like it’s a destination restaurant and it’s not. It’s your average fried chicken place that has a different name than Boston Market, but you’ll find many of the same foods. The chicken is only OK, but you can get tenders, wings, pot pies or soup containing it. They have ribs, cornbread, potatoes etc. so you can find your sides you like. The service is pretty weak with a lot of space cases working the counter and the prices are a bit on the expensive side for the quality. They give you a large portion tough, so if big amounts of only average food is your thing, you’ll more than likely enjoy it, but don’t get caught by someone telling you this is a must try place. Haverhill is pretty lacking in quality restaurants, but if you are thinking of trying here while looking for a place to eat, you would be better off trying A1 Deli just down the street first.

I called in an order two hours ahead of pick up time. I repeat-two hours ahead! When I arrived at the appointed time, I stood in an aimless, disorganized line with a bunch of equally unhappy customers for 20 minutes… only to receive dried out, mediocre food. Mediocre with a capital M. Maybe you were short staffed. maybe you serve a subpar product as part of your general business practice. Who knows. I know that was the worst $ 60 I have spent in a while. This was not my first bad experience at your establishment, but it will be my last. .I also know I am not the only dissatisfied customer that day. Please know there are MANY other places to spend money in Haverhill.

Disgusting. The place smells revolting — like decaying poultry. Food not served as pictured on menu — chicken«fingers» are no longer strips but shriveled up nugget-like offerings. My order tonight not only took FOREVER but came out half-assed(I had to show my receipt to prove that we paid for twice the amount they tried to put in the box then bag to go — SO glad I checked the order before just leaving the stench-filled restaurant.) When a refund was offered, they gave me exactly $ 5.99 sans tax. Pretty sure we would’ve paid tax initially but I didn’t want to spent more time arguing as I couldn’t wait to breathe some fresh air! Never again Chicken Connection. I’ll be connecting elsewhere when I want takeout on a Friday night. Thanks for trying(and succeeding to a lesser degree) to rip me off!

Good thing you don’t call yourselves the Pork Connection. Pulled Pork sandwich is probably the worst sandwich I’ve had anywhere. Couldn’t even eat half of it tonight. Dry and bland.

The bone in chicken was moist and tender that was a plus. I must say the seasoned home fries they have, have this awful lemony-type of flavor that lingers on your tongue after eating its just a sour nasty flavor. Yuck I tried adding some salt and garlic powder and still it just tasted weird. My bf company ordered from here recently and they too disliked the potatoes. I’ll possibly be giving it a try in a few months to see if it improves.

Pretty good fried chicken! Perfectly crispy and moist. It’s nice to have this nearby. The family deal is a pretty good deal. The only thing is I didn’t really care for the mashed potatoes, although not enough to not have them again. They are a little watery and tasted more like instant. The steamed vegetables were delicious. Can’t wait to try the chicken fingers. I’ve heard good things about them.

My favorite thing about The Chicken Connection is their weekly food give-a-ways on Facebook. Their food is fairly priced and better quality than KFC. Their fried chicken is delicious, mashed potatoes a bit bland, but their squash is to die for… a good place to stop in and eat if you have never been here.

My mother is a HUGE fan. They are timely and prices are reasonable. The food is moist and not overcooked. I purchase for my mother from there 6x a yr thereabouts for over a decade.

Not bad, but very average food. I would be willing to go with someone who wants to eat there but I wouldn’t choose it myself. Kind of like a Boston Market overall. Friendly staff, and easy ordering experience.

Place is okay. Tables and chairs are a bit sticky. 3 piece meal was okay, not better than the KFC. The best part is the chicken finger.

I’m updating my review since we actually eat here a lot more often then I thought we would. We don’t order the chicken fingers, they’re still not all that special. The bone-in chicken is still awesome though and what I love is that on my way home from work I can stop and get REAL food for both of us for around $ 20. The coleslaw is bangin’, the mashed potatoes are real, the stuffing is moist and tasty and the chicken is usually moist.

The Chicken Connection is a dud. When I went here, I was hoping to uncover yet another hidden gem in Haverhill. That did not happen. I give the place a C at best. I’ve been to gas stations that had more atmosphere. A few of the home cooked sides were good(e.g., stuffing) but most were mediocre(e.g., mashed potatoes). The meals we had did not impress. Their idea of a pulled chicken BBQ sandwich was some dry shredded chicken with a couple of squirts of bottle BBQ sauce on it. My girlfriend had the chicken; the verdict: so-so. With all of the great places in Haverhill, I cannot imagine why I would go back to the Chicken Connection. Possibly if I wanted a to-go order of a few sides for a meal that I would eat somewhere else.

Yuk gross, I went to the chicken connection for the first time after seeing it on the Phantom Gourmet, if they consider this place good, they don’t know anything about good food. I got a 3 piece meal that came with 2 sides, the skin on the chicken was like rubber, way to much fat, not much meat as well. I got a side of rice pilaf it was OK that’s why they got the 1 star. The other side were potatoes cut into cubes they looked good, but after eating one yuk LIME they were lime flavor not just a hint of lime but in your face way to much lime flavor. Never again… back to KFC

The Chicken Connection is a great place to go for an extremely affordable home cooked style meal! The menu offers something for everyone and is full of different styles of chicken from fried to chicken pot pies. You can order whole meals or make up your own combo with their offerings of fried drumsticks, thighs, breasts, or wings. I ordered the chicken fingers coated in buffalo sauce with sides of cole slaw and lemon pepper potatoe wedges. The chicken tenders seem to be only lightly coated in flour before being deep fried which works well with the buffalo sauce. They were a little over done but still very delicious! The cole slaw really surprised me because it is hard to find a good quality slaw. This had large crunchy pieces of cabbage coated in a zesty cole slaw dressing that wasn’t too thin but not too thick also. The potatoe wedges were really good. They have a nice peppery coating and a hint of lemon. I wanted to try the fried chicken on the bone also so I ordered a thigh piece. The crispy breading is really good. The meat is so tender and falls right off the bone! I’ll definitely be heading back here to get the chicken pot pie, rotisserie chicken, and maybe even try their ribs! Pass
