Just plain not good. Service was poor and slow. Half of our orders were incorrect. White fish salad was spoiled. Rye bread very salty. Coffee was terrible. We will not be returning.

This place is so bad it doesn’t even deserve the one star I HAD to give. We went here one morning breakfast and as soon as I walked in I was grossed out. The place is run down and dirty. I figured I would go with something safe so I ordered a bagel with bacon, simple right? what came out 40 minutes later was a bagel that must have been at the back of the freezer and a sorry excuse for bacon. The bagel suffered from severe freezer burn and after one bite I was done. Imagine my surprise when on my way to pay the bill I passed a brown bag full of fresh bagels! This place is a joke and gives diners a bad name!

I’ve seen some reviews for this place end with«go to Llanerch Diner». That bit has me thoroughly confused. I’m somewhat new to the area(hence less emotional attachment to one or the other) but I’ve been to both numerous times. Manoa is a solid diner with well cooked food(always as ordered). The place is clean and you can tell the staff care. Llanerch? You’d be lucky if they acknowledged your presence let alone took your order. I’ll take Manoa without a second thought.

Just dropped in breakfast. I had two eggs, ham, home fries for $ 7.16 including tax. With a two buck tip it was reasonable. Service was great, but they weren’t very busy. Food was good. Eggs are eggs and the home fries were tasty. The ham was a decent size and also tasty. The coffee(decaf) was very good. I will return.

The service was amazing. Not that I want to rush my time eating out with friends, but when I am hungry I am freaking hungry. Our food was out so quickly after we ordered and it was delicious. The server was so friendly and attentive which is much appreciated. It was a completely reasonable bill, I think around $ 6 per person for their meal and we all left full. Go to place on the weekend mornings.

Solid 3 stars. I have been there twice, and only had breakfast foods, but both times the food was satisfying — not really remarkable, but satisfying. The service is excellent, and the place is clean and warm(a nice comfort on a cold, rainy day). It’s also a friendly, quiet spot if you want to get together with friends or business associates. I end up in this area from time to time on business, and will most likely be back. I would agree prices are bit on the higher side, but nothing outrageous.

I have nothing against the elderly. Hell, my grandmother still gives me 20 $ every time I see her and slightly boosts my self confidence by reassuring me that I am «handsome». With that being said, it raises a huge red flag for me when I enter a diner to see a sea of white perms. This seems to be a meeting ground for the Golden Girls and this immediately warns me that I am pushing my luck. There is quite an odd scent that has lingered in this place for the past few years. Something just doesn’t seem… clean. Do I have evidence of this place practicing uncleanliness? Absolutely not. But I like to think I sort of have a sixth sense for this kind of thing. It’s the kind of scent that sits in the back of your mind while eating your food… «How long has this been in the fridge?» «Do they clean the kitchen?» «Am I going need to call out of work tomorrow?» Of course I have never gotten sick here, but I feel like there could just be a chance. When I go to a diner, I get eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. A very basic meal that I feel every diner that has been in business for over a month should have perfected. The eggs are never cooked the way you want them and the bacon seems like it was fried in a pan that has been frying bacon for the past two days without being cleaned. The hash browns were certainly scooped out of a large bucket and thrown on the grill for a few minutes. It’s just bad, honestly bad. I will say this though, this diner seems like the type of place where someone would buy a winning power ball ticket. They have a nice beer-to-go selection as well as scratch offs and other kinds of lottery paraphernalia. If you are coming from Broomall, drive a couple extra minutes and go to Llanerch. I hate to end every diner review like this but it’s just the way it is!

The atmosphere wasn’t really inviting/appealing as far as appearance. The prices seemed kind of higher but I can say that I was given great customer service at the counter.

I bring my girls here for breakfast or lunch on occasion. It is standard diner fare and nothing to write home about. However I have always had good service here and, as an added bonus, can pick up a six pack if my children are driving me nuts.

I’ll keep this one short and sweet. This place isn’t much to look at, but it offers friendly service, decent diner food, and solid ice cream and milkshakes. The tuna salad and egg salad are very good, but I do agree with other reviewers that the prices are a little high.

I’ve only been for breakfast — but it is good. And convenient — we shop at Super Fresh for groceries it’s a natural fit. There are certainly regulars here! I think I’ve seen the same older duo eating pancakes each time I’ve gone. Stick to the breakfast specials and you won’t be disappointed. It’s about $ 6-$ 7 for two eggs, a yummy pig item and toast. Friendly and quick service. On a weekend come before 8:00am or after 10:00.

I was at Super Fresh and needed to eat before completing my trip. This diner was here and in the 8 years I lived in the area, I never went there. What the heck! I read some of the reviews and I almost changed my mind and wanted to go to Llanerch Diner, which I sort of knew since I had lived just down the road. I entered and saw a lot of people at tables, and I looked over to the side and saw a vending area. This didn’t look like any diner I’d ever seen. It made me think that it was a convenience store with a few sandwiches. I was almost ready to change my mind again, and a pleasant Asian woman asked if I was there to pick up something.(Why do so many think I’m there to pick up? Do I look like the help?) I told her that I wanted to eat in the dining room and she said to sit anywhere. When I mentioned how crowded it was, she pointed to tables around the other side of the wall but not«those tables» will packing(or unpacking) bits on them. I ended up sitting at the counter that I didn’t see at first. That would probably fix the problem with service in some of the reviews, right? It was rather casual. The menu was a laminated piece of paper with breakfast items on one side and the breakfast specials on the other. It was between 11 and 12 and I really didn’t want breakfast but… I went with it. The waitress asked what I wanted to drink and I asked if they had Apple Juice, and she brought me a 8 or 12 ounce glass. I ordered the Chipped Beef on Toast. 3 seconds later, I was regretting that decision because my mum made something called Dried Beef Gravy over bread that was almost the same thing, and I was trying to have some time to get over her death and that might have been a mistake. The food was good, although the home fries could have been fried a bit more, to be crispy but they weren’t cold and many places, that would be a plus. The Chipped Beef was so different from my experience that it didn’t have any emotional resonance. Many of you are probably laughing, but home cooking almost always has an emotional resonance – good times, bad times, whatever. What was amusing was the banter between the staff and the counter customers. They really have a rapport with some people. I’d return, but only to the counter. The prices were surprisingly high: $ 11.07 total including the cream chipped beef for $ 7.95 and the large apple juice for $ 2.49 but then, I hadn’t been to a diner lately. With the bill, the tip, and the newspaper, I was past $ 15 in that one little building.

Terrible, horrendous service. Every time I go here, my waitress forgets about my table. Different waitresses even! Whether its busy or not, the wait staff is no very attentive. The food is exactly what you would expect, normal diner fare. I would drive an extra while to go somewhere other than Manoa Diner.

Rare is the establishment where you can: 1. Eat breakfast or lunch 2. Get a lottery ticket 3. Pick up a 6 pack of beer AND 4. Get a ticket for a bus trip to Atlantic City Rarer, even, is there a place that does all of the above, is clean and serves decent food. This is not a diner by any means. It’s a restaurant. The menu is not extremely broad. The prices are reasonable. Six of us headed out for breakfast. Amazingly, they had a booth large enough to comfortably sit us with entrances on both sides — yay! No packing in like sardines. Our server was prompt with menus and drink orders. Ordered: Oatmeal(OK), chocolate chip pancakes(good), waffle(good, a bit doughy), scrapple(menu lied — not grilled, deep fried, otherwise OK), bacon(YUM), pork roll(YUM), and creamed chipped beef — declared the best so far — not quite what Chris Spaulding whipped up at Hannes when she cooked there but far better than what we’ve found so far. Kitchen management was odd — our food seemed to come out in spurts — a couple dishes, then a wait period, then a couple more, then another wait period. Overall, it was decent, well priced and comfortable. Extra happiness for decent SOS. We’re discovering that’s harder to come by than we thought!

I live a mile from Manoa Shopping Center and this diner resides there. So why do I always forget it as a dining destination? Two reasons I think. First, I think of this place for breakfast food and the Llanerch Diner is three minutes away. Llanerch is hard to beat so I always head there if I want the first meal of the day. For the record Manoa diner is also open for lunch and dinner. Second, the food is OK but the menu is somewhat limited. The breakfast staples are all there but nothing unique.
Let’s say you’re having breakfast here with your significant other. You’re discussing the events of the day. When you leave you may notice that you both didn’t mention the food. That could be perceived as either good or bad. Let’s just call it acceptable. As its part of a shopping center, parking is a breeze. When I get a chance I’ll give lunch a try and update this review.
