When you first pull into the lot, you think there cant be anything special to this place… it’s look is not fancy at all. But once inside you’ll understand why so many people come from far and wide to pay the Barn a visit… Boasting an 18 hole outdoor mini golf center, you get the best of both worlds. Fun & food. Now if it wasn’t for my previous partner in food crime, i would not have been so appreciative of supporting my local businesses. But thanks to him, I’ve grown quite fond of my local small biz eateries. The girl behind the counter Kristen Was quite helpful in recommending some really great bagel choices. She suggested i try the French toast Bagel with cream cheese and strawberry jam. It was like having a real french toast breakfast(Highly Recommended) For my second choice of course was the lox cream cheese on a Honey wheat Bagel… For those of you that remember Bagel Barn from Brooklyn N.Y., You will be quite pleased to find that the delicious flavor hasn’t changed over the years…

We arrived at 12:45 and asked for items that were posted on a blackboard. The clerk informed us that the grill is turned off at 12:45, which was the very moment of our arrival. We said that the menu and website indicate that the restaurant is open until 3PM. He reiterated that the grill nevertheless goes off at 12:45. We asked if the cheddar soup was vegetarian. He replied that he did not know and could not find out because the cook was gone for the day. Having informed us about what was not available, the disinterested clerk made no attempt to suggest alternatives; we left to have lunch elsewhere and see no reason to return. There were no other customers in the empty shop, and it’s easy to see why. Not recommended.

Finally a «go to» bagel store in the area with great bagels. Couldn’t be happier. Now if a real bakery would open up, Lords Valley would be closer to being complete.

First things first — the bagels. Great taste and texture, tastes almost like a solid NY bagel. A previous reviewer wrote that they freeze them in Brooklyn and ship them to PA. If true, this is not necessarily bad… I’d take a –20 degree Brooklyn bagel over a freshly made Pennsylvania bagel any day. Forget your dry fish and Prince Polo bars at your apartment on Brighton 2nd? Not to worry, they have a full selection of Russian food… Smart considering they have a mini Brighton Beach across the street at Hemlock Farms. The only downside that I can think of is the coffee… There is barely a selection and the iced coffee was not available. Both times that we were there, we went to Dunkin Donuts(a mile down the road) to get coffee. They are fairly new so they are still trying to get into the swing of things but I’m sure they will get it down. Everyday that I’ve been there so far, there was a line. And for a bagel shop in PA, their bagels taste great.

The plain bagel with scallion cream cheese was great! Glad there’s something so close to home!

What can I say… NOT bad!!! The bagels are cooked and frozen in Brooklyn, shipped to the barn, then reheated. I do have to say the service is great, the selection is good and it’s better than having no bagel store in the area at all. You can’t really complain when your only other options are dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s, and Weis supermarket; all of which have bagels that are only called bagels because the product has a hole in it.

Came in here with a couple of friends for a quick breakfast. Being from New York City, I opted for getting a bagel. Salami, egg, and cheese bagel, which came out to $ 4.50, was excellent — really did taste like an authentic New York bagel. Even bigger plus, I didn’t have to pay New York prices(~$ 7+ bucks for this in the city). Service was friendly and prompt. Could use better coffee though.
